3rd Gen Triospecies Challenge - 3rd Generation

i'll do this again. need a break from all the nuzlocking.

Game: Emerald
Team: Linoone, Crobat, Grumpig

I beat Wattson with combusken.

I don't feel like adding my current pokemon.

i caught a zigzagoon and named it SAUSAGE!! (obviously), and then proceeded to grind it severely. i implemented a little rule where i would beat a trainer and then fight wild pokemon until SAUSAGE!! leveled up. took a while, but he eventually got to level 20 and evolved. and with some help from an X Attack, he took care of roxanne fairly easily. now i'm in dewford, about to catch the second team member.

Got some time on my hands, so I figured I'd update. Enjoy.


  • Traveled up to Route 111, battling Trainer after Trainer.
  • Challenged the 'Winstrate' family with Breloom at the head of the party. This should kill a few minutes.
  • Victor wasn't even a mild threat to me, or Breloom. His Taillow never got the chance to attack so much as once before it was destroyed by Headbutt, Zigzagoon following suit after a Mach Punch.
  • Victoria was just as easy, no sexual innuendo implied. Her Roselia never stood up to Breloom, one Headbutt laying it down for the count.
  • Stomped through Vivi like it was a walk in the park. So far, these matches wouldn't even make decent entertainment. Hell, these battles make public television nearly watchable. But only nearly.
  • Vicky wasn't difficult either. Her Meditite lived through one Headbutt, used Meditate, then died from a Mach Punch. This confirms that the entire Winstrate family sucks, and only noobs are beaten by them. Take that, nameless blue-haired NPC on the right! Does that sting?
  • Wally called me while I was leaving Route 111, after realizing I need Rock Smash. Seriously, how do all of these damned people keep getting my number!?
  • Went off towards the east, entering Route 117. Defeated two female Trainers in a double battle, and spoke with the Day Care Couple afterward.
  • Got nine Wepear Berries. I don't know what they do, but hey, at least I've got 'em.
  • Beat down Pokemon Breeder Isaac, which wasn't that hard. His six Pokemon were still no match for Breloom.
  • Started Level Grinding, since I felt like Elecktrike was starting to get left behind, along with Marshtomp.
  • Is it just me, or does every member of the Triathlon Trainer Class have Doduo? I mean seriously people, try a little variety. If you did, maybe my Electrike would stop kicking your asses so badly. I doubt it, but you never know.
  • Beat Pokemon Breeder Lydia just as easily as Isaac. Her three Water-type Pokemon were great EXP for my Electrike.
  • I think I missed HM Rock Smash earlier in the game, so I'm going to trace my steps back, and go to Rustoboro. Worst case scenario: I ended up going back there for nothing, but at least I got some EXP on the way.
  • Beat down every trainer on Cycling Road with Marshtomp.
  • The HM Rock Smash was in Mauville... Goddammit.
  • Taught Rock Smash to my HM Slave, Zigzagoon, and had him break the rock in Rusturf Tunnel. It's still a stupid name for a tunnel. Got HM Strength for my good deed though, which goes to show that you should help out strangers, provided that you have probable cause to believe that they'll give you nice things if you do.
  • Broke the rock on Route 111, and fought against a news crew. Attack the press! I chose to not give them an interview, since I prefer if thousands of people didn't know who I was. Not like it'd help though, considering they can get my PokeNav number without even trying.
  • Electrike evolved into a Manectric! Yay! I now have a team full of Stage 2 Evolutions. That won't last long though, I can tell.
  • Saved my game on the outskirts of a desert sandstorm, and closed out VBA.

Well, i guess i screwed myself over now >.< I just beat Wallace, but then i remembered the rule about not having any HM-slaves in gym/elite four battles, so now i'm in the hall of fame, with my two slaves being there, and my last save is right after Drake, so i can't switch them out. I guess i'm disqualified then.

Well, did you actually use them during battle? If not, then I don't think you're disqualified.
 
I guess I could do a quick update then?

  • Choosed Treecko as starter.
  • Caught a Taillow.
  • Treecko evolved into Grovyle.
  • Beat Roxanne without dieing once.
  • Trained my pokemon's a bit.
  • Beat Brawly after a few tries. Gotta hate that Makuhita.
  • Caught an Aron and started to level it.
  • Drove Team Aqua out of the museum at Slateport City.
  • Taillow evolved into Swellow.
  • Beat Wattson after 13 tries, I really hate that Manectric! :(

If you didn't used the HM Slaves in battling them, then you're not disqualified. Just please, post the screenshot of the Hall of Fame.

I lied, still in the challenge (:

Uhm, no update really, go to Trick House, completed my team with Merlin the Electrike. Training him now.

More details later.

I didn't use them at all actually, i didn't even send them out.

Time to update once again. :)

  • Grinded my Aron to evolve into Lairon.
  • Aron evolved into Lairon.
  • Took Meteorite back from Team Magma.
  • Beat Flannery after a good amount of tries.
  • Beat my Dad, Norman.
