I'm more of a fan of standard-weight gaming laptops. Gaming laptops don't have to be bulky, you know? 2.6 kg and less of power! :D

Recently got a new laptop that's mjuch lighter than I've owned before. It's 1.6kg so I can now carry it with one hand. Not sure if I'd classify it as an ultrabook though.

You just try bluetooth on linux. Hours of headaches guaranteed (unless you know a good gui)

That's funny as linux likes my laptop's bluetooth adapter more than windows 10. Every distro I've tried (aside from very light ones) support it out of the box. I've tried everything with windows 10 and it wouldn't even recognize the bluetooth adapter.

So , my dad and I went to check out some laptop, I decided to get a MSI laptop, GE62 6QL APACHE. It's features latest 6th gen Intel Processor and GTX 950M graphic card. It sells about 3699 and 179 ringgit for expanding another 8 GB RAM.

Not bad! HDD or SSD or SSD+HDD model? Either way there should be space for adding the missing thing if there's something missing. :)

I think I've managed to render the Channel A RAM slots in my motherboard unusable. No thanks to a thermal compound streaking all about for some reason while trying to install the Intel stock cooler, since I took the usual one out for cleaning.

Oops! Two of the RAM slots are now unusable, and now I have to get by with single-channel memory.

Looks like I'd have to get it serviced soon... (and maybe get a "burner" H81/B85/H97 motherboard)

Is it the MSI Leopard Pro GP72 (NVIDIA GTX 950M, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, i7-5700HQ @ 2.7GHz)? That's the same model I have haha! I was considering reviewing it here, actually. I've been very impressed by its performance.

Well, mostly the same! But change the Broadwell CPU into the i5-6300HQ - yep, mobile quad-core i5s are now finally a thing with Skylake. No more overspending for an i7.

It's originally 4 GB, but they threw in an additional 8 GB for free.

In the meantime, we did a bit of 3DMark fun just now, and turns out the GTX 760M and i7-4700HQ in my laptopwere caught pants down, comparatively speaking, to the GTX 950M and i5-6300HQ. My CPU is just a wee bit faster than the i5, but my GPU is smoked by the 950M. Dat Maxwell, beating Kepler parts everywhere, and now Haswell looks old in the mobile space.
