[U.S.] Nope... it's not Best Wishes...

I liked Best Wishes, the name is so emotional and interesting. Pokemon: Black and White does have and edge to it though. Black and White, simple yet sophisticated. Maybe they want to appeal to an older audience. I can't wait for Plasmic Adventures xD

4Kids isn't dubbing Pokemon, PUSA (Pokemon USA) is.

Anyways, all I an think of is how hard it'll be searching for the English episodes as they have the same names as the games. XD
 
Ugh I hate that they aren't calling it Best Wishes. Best Wishes was so creative. Calling it Black/White is so boring, they are just taking the names of the games, instead of a play on the letters B/W...
 
meh, am I the only one who thought BestWishes was clever? Oh well. Just simply Black and White is kinda boring. Then again we thought that the first time they announced the Game Titles.

I guess its okay.
 
I know the show is for younger kids but Best Wishes is just...9_9 BLEH. It just sounds too childish or immature IMO.

Hats off to Black and White.

Included in this is the announcement that the first two episodes of the Pokémon Black & White anime are to air in the US on February 12th at 9am on Cartoon Network, one week after the Diamond & Pearl episodes end and three weeks before the launch of the games. These two episodesmark the beginning of Ash's journey within the region of Unova. We'll bring more details, including dub titles, as and when we can. Ahhh, it's fine for me. Sarah's kinda grown on me. It's the character of Ash himself that I don't like.

I don't know why, but him forgetting EVERYTHING at the beginning of Best Wishes really pissed me off. 600 episodes gone to waste. Even if they are trying to "start fresh". :/
 
I was hoping Best Wishes would stay the same in the English version. Black & White is ok too. After all, we can still refer to it as Pokemon BW. I am ok with it.
 
I think if Sarah got replaced, it would be Season 9 all over again, a new voice who does a horrible job and takes forever to get better.

Personally, I prefer Sarah over Veronica since Sarah's voice better matches Ash, in my opinion.
 
I'll admit, I did hate Best Wishes initially, but now I'm liking it way more than the generic dub title of Pokemon: Black and White, even though it has a Lost In Translation pun involved. Originally, I hated how Best Wishes made it sound like the anime was bidding farewell to something, as if Generation 5 were the last generation of Pokemon. :cer_cry: I guess I'll view it as a farewell to past anime establishments, and a welcoming of new ones (provided that the new ones aren't suckish).

I've become accustomed to the title of Best Wishes, and the explanation about the Isshu pun helped to lessen my dislike of it. And now that I look at it, Best Wishes includes all of the meanings that the title "Black and White" has and adds even more cool meanings.

Bulbapedia complicated things a bit because now the series related to BW is referred to as Best Wishes, yet the season of the same relation is referred to as Black and White. >_>

And Best Wishes doesn't sound that bad when you have some epic announcer guy's voice (an adult-sounding one, not those teenage-ish ones, mind you) speaking it aloud: "Coming up next...POKEMON BEST WISHES!"

So yeah...the BW series and season(s) are going to be rendered as Best Wishes when I converse about it...now I'm just awaiting what the next season will be rendered as in the dub... :o

But I guess Black and White is okay. But if I recall, they didn't call the previous seasons "Gold, Silver, Crystal" or "Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald" but rather "Advanced battle", "The Johto Journeys" or "Galactic battles".

Well, yeah.
The past seasons were reasonable. I mean...
Pocket Monsters - Pokemon, PKMN: Johto Journeys, Johto League Champions, Master Quest.
Pocket Monsters: Advanced Generation - Pokemon Advanced, ADV Challenge, ADV Battle.
Pocket Monsters: Diamond and Pearl - Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, DP: Battle Dimension, Galactic Battles, Sinnoh League Victors...

Yeah, to me... It looks like TPCi just called the series "Black and White" because they couldn't think of anything similar to "Best Wishes". = =;
Not to mention they broke the "Advanced" tradition and called season 9+10, just "Battle Frontier".

I think "Best Wishes" is better as well.
