Wronggggggggg!
Ash completely change after AG Series , He did kept traits of his Old personality during AG.
Like his Arrogance , Ego , Obnoxiousness .
Its like Ash was like Ben Tennyson from "Ben 10" in Original series But later turn into TK from "Digimon Adventure 02" .
I disagree with this. The Western Staff does, too, especially with the whole "
After AG" thing. Check the Advanced Battle theme, it's pretty telling.
Off course , Different category mean something.
Why do you think Shin-chan can show his naked butt and talk about sex freely without any parent complaining ?
Because Kids Anime like Crayon Shin-chan is actually aimed toward Adult.
Same goes for ''The Simpsons" , Talk about Bad example!
Pokemon is in Same Category as Digimon where the Protagonist suppose to grow ! But it following the wrong category.
Therefore the show suffering the decline of TV-Rating & DVD Sales .
Nope, it's a difference in culture. You'd be surprised that Shin-Chan isn't aimed entirely at adults in Japan. If you look, a lot of its merchandising is for kids.
You do know the neither of those Anime are for Kids.
"The Simpsons" focus on a lot adult-ordinate stuff and also has very violent scene.
Furthermore , Whatever happen in One episode of "The Simpsons" has no effect on the rest of the Series ! But Whatever happen in One episode of Pokemon affect the rest of the series.
And Gintama is famous for breaking the 4th wall & Copyright rule.
That doesn't make it less accurate. Just because a show appeals to someone else doesn't mean it can't be compared to mostly different or unrelated shows, and Gintama's formula can be considered parallel to Pokemon, if jokes and characters with actual backstory are compared to badges and Pokemon. Plus the show makes several references to previous episodes and seasons. It's not much different. Because we're not comparing the shows themselves, we're comparing something the shows do.
Also, in terms of them being not kids shows...eheh. Gintama would be quick to disagree. Or agree. Probably both. And the Simpsons is pretty all-encompassing. It's a silly family comedy that's not really for adults specifically.
The Narrator explain nothing !
He just revise the same line of Ash going on a new adventure But he doesn't explain the entire history in one line.
No, see, he does explain stuff- recent events, specifically. And he doesn't have to explain the entire history becaaaaaause:
It resets every time a new generation comes out. This is intentional, as it serves as a good entry point for those who didn't watch Pokemon before because it doesn't rely on the previous generations. After all, like you said, a new kid won't have watched 700+ episodes, and the show is designed around the idea that you don't have to.
Pokemon isn't the type of show where you need to watch every season, or even every episode to know what's going on, and development's hardly at the core of the series.
See how I brought that...like, half-circle? That was completely...unintentional, actually <_<
--From an
interview with the Pokémon anime's storyboard artist and former director.
Not technically relevant to the discussion, it just reminded me of this interview and I started giggling. Read the whole thing if you haven't, btw. It's great.
I'm also starting to suspect that Famon IS the guy in question... That'd be cool.
I actually personally found the idea that they dropped Brock because he looked racist was funny.
Mainly because I know sooooo many people that thought he was supposed to be Black, not Asian, so the idea that his eyes made him seem racist to the crew was pretty funny to me, because it shows such a disconnect in how we see people...or rather, why we see people the way we do and what the perception of them means to us. Either funny or just plain interesting. I'll have to give the rest of the interview a once-over later.
