Muse's Fire UMC: Red

-Flare finally reached level 50 and learned Flamethrower, so I evolved him
-Blitz evolved also
-I'm realizing that Fire Spin is a much better move in this game, especially with a fast Pokemon like Rapidash. The opponent has no way to make a move.
-Defeated Sabrina - Blitz did surprisingly well considering he's at a much lower level than the rest of the team
-Inferno OHKOd all of Blaine's Pokemon w/Earthquake except Arcanine which went down from Slash (Arcanine used Roar, which for some reason hasn't worked once in this game, but I'm not complaining)
-Taught Blitz Fire Blast because he's the only one who can't learn Flamethrower

OMFG i hate grinding with a burning passion. I went form having a well leveled team of two to a under levelled team of six. Last two days i have been grinding and taken dwon two gym leaders while still training them. Will do a bit more before leaving Ectruek (how the hell do you say this, or spell it).
I taight Cleo (ledain) headbutt and caught a heracross at the magnificnet level of two HOORay (sarcasm is hard to understand on teh internets). Pinsir and scyther soon followed from the BCC, i won two useless sun stones.
After grinding Hercules ( Heracross) took on cry baby Whitney. Miltank tried to attratct him but no one is attracted to fat pink cows. Died after two brick breaks Onto Morty the battle went a little like this

Well, since I'm bored, I'm gonna continue my Electric UMC onto Black.

• Beat the first gym with Oshawott+Pansear, then caught Z-Bolt the Blitzle on Rt. 3.
• Then I started soloing (until I get to Chargestone Cave) with him.
• Lenore was easy because I avoided a Take Down, and I had a Chesto Berry.
• Z-Bolt evolved into Zebstrika in the Castelia City Battle Co.
• Burgh was a cinch with Flame Charge.
• Elena was easy as well, Discharge and Stomp took her down.
• Once I cleared out Cold Storage, I taught Z-Bolt Return.
• Z-Bolt handled Clay with Return and Flame Charge thanks to being overleveled.

Update for Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Electric).

Update #2 on Black.

• Finally I reached Chargestone Cave, where I caught Zeus the Tynamo (actually didn't take me that long to find it).
• I also caught a Boldore to trade for Minipete the Emologa on Route 7, after I arrived in Mistralton City.
• Climbed the Celestial Tower and rang the bell at the top.
• Took on Skyla and won easily with Minipete.
• Then I got Surf from Alder, and used it to explore Routes 16 and 17, as well as Mistralton Cave. Zeus finally evolved into Eelektrik.
• Went through Twist Mountain to Icirrus City, where I caught Flounder the Stunfisk (yay!).
• Brycen then went down to Zeus.
• Climbed the Dragonspiral Tower and talked with N, then cleared out Relic Castle and got the Light Stone in Nancrene.
• Made my way to Opelucid City, and after a bit of shopping for vitamins, took on the gym.
• Drayden was handled by Zeus and Flounder.
• Then I beat Cheren on Route 10 and saved there.

I delivered Oak's parcel, got the Pokedex, went and bought some Pokeballs and caught Pidgey LV7 using Pikachu...

I traveled through the forest defeating every trainer and leveling Pidgey and Rattata quickly as Pidgey evolved in the patch of grass just outside Pewter City...

-Parasect is amazing! Vs Sabrina and Blaine was so very useful. Blaine almost had me though - Rapidash outspeeds EVERYTHING and traps with Fire Spin. Had to get a lucky paralysis with Uno's Body Slam to win
-Victreebel is a beast with Swords Dance. After one turn, KOs pretty much anything
-Lack of TM moves in Gen I is actually making this quite annoying. None of them can learn Rock Slide or Earthquake for one!

Tell you what, I LOATHE how slow grass pokemon are in gen I. I was also slightly underlevelled, but hey...

Anyway, movesets remained unchanged, except for Explosion in place of Selfdestruct on Quatro (Exeggutor). For a rundown of the Elite 4:

Elite Four Time!

• Got through Victory Road easily enough.
• Evolved Zeus into Eelektross at L54 (learned Coil).
• After some shopping, I used several TMs (Thunder, Charge Beam, Wild Charge).
• Headed into the Pokemon League to take on the Elite Four.
• Shauntal was handled by Minipete and Zeus.
• Grimsley was taken down by Flounder, Minipete, and Z-Bolt.
• Caitlin was beat by Minipete/Flounder and Zeus (mostly Zeus with Crunch).
• Marshall was beat by Minipete (Acrobatics rocked) and Flounder.
• Then I taught Zeus Brick Break (replaced Wild Charge).
• After the EPIC cutscreens, I caught Reshiram.
• N went down to a team effort, and I beat Ghetsis as well, with Zeus shouldering the load with a Coil boosted Brick Break (beat Seismitoad, OHKOed Hydregion and Bisharp, and beat Eelektross).
• And I was teleported home, ready to start the postgame.

Postgame:

• The first thing I did was catch a L52 Dratini and evolve him into a Dragonite for an HM Slave (it's Adamant, lol).
• After a few trainer battles, I eventually got to the Giant Chasm and caught a Ditto.
• Traded said Ditto for Eeks the Rotom, and turned it into a Wash Rotom (Electric/Water), since I didn't want to use Overheat.
• After some boring EV training, I traveled around Unova, fighting all the trainers I could.
• I did get wiped out by Veteran Shaun (holy cow his team rocks) in Challenger's Cave thanks to some lame critical hits, argg.
• Then I took on Cheren, Morimoto, and Cynthia, and beat them pretty easily.
• After some Rare Candies to get everyone to L72, it was time for Elite Four Round 2!
• Shauntal: soloed by Eeks, with Shadow Ball, Hydro Pump, and Thunderbolt.
• Grimsley: Taken care of by Zeus with some healing help (Coil, Brick Break).
• Caitlin was the toughest fight, but Flounder, Z-Bolt, and Zeus combined for the win.
• Marshall was beaten by Flounder and Minipete (Acrobatics), with lots of healing.
• Taught Flounder, Eeks, and Minipete Thunder, and finally it was time for Alder.

That's another full UMC down. This last game was fun. Elektross is an beast, and Stunfisk was a lot better then I was expecting, as was Emolga. Emolga really needed the extra trade experience to stay useful, though. Zebstrika benefited from getting overleveled early, and Wash Rotom was also fun to use, even if it was for a short time.

Alright I have picked up this challenge again (last post on p. 11 or something) and started my Rock Monotype up again in Hoenn.

Started out with Mudkip and rushed to beat the first gym.
Caught a Zigzagoon as a HM Slave and arrived at Dewford.
Went to the cave and caught both a Geodude and a Aron.
Trained them to lvl 19 and 20 and defeated Brawly with Magnitude and Metal Claw.
Trained against all trainers on my way and finally arrived at the 3rd gym that didn't stand a chance against the power of Magnitude.
Rushed to the next gym where I along the way kicked Team Magma down from the volcano.
Didn't even have to heal in the Gym and won easily.

Well, following up with my completion of the Kanto-Grass portion of my UUMC, I moved onto Gold last night. 450% speed makes for fast gameplay, so I've just managed to beat the Elite 4 and Champion with this team:

Megaman the Meganium
Male, lvl 61, Miracle Seed
Razor Leaf, Body Slam, Earthquake, Light Screen

Way overlevelled I know, but the only way I could train the other members of the team without them fainting so much was to slap EXP Share on them and battle with this guy. Had Mud Slap instead of EQ for most of Johto, it proved to be surprisingly useful. This guy managed to pretty much take on the Elites by himself, with the others used for setting up mostly.

This guy is identical to the one on my blue version, but much less useful. Mostly used Spore here and there, but just wasn't that good in Johto.

Lack of leaf stones in Johto made her stay in this form, though she was SLIGHTLY more useful that Deux II. VS lance, the latter used Spore on gyarados, then with Leech Seed I was able to survive a Hyper Beam and KO with 3 turns of Rollout, and then KO the next Dragonite with Rollout.

This little guy has a shockingly horrible attacking movepool, so I used him as a status setter. Blistering speed certainly helped, helping to snatch KOs with residual damage.

It's onto Kanto now, though this seems to be turning into a solo run with Meganium, and the others providing backup. I can't wait for sapphire, the grass types actually have some varied movesets!
