Ok, so I just figured out that you can't get Meditite in Emerald, so I'll transfer to Ruby. I already had a monotype going there, but for everyone's sake, I'll start over.

Also, how do I do spoilers? Since I am new here, it would be good to know how to. It would really save space if I used spoilers. Now that I know how to quote, I think spoilers is next.

So far this has been rather easy..

Captured Cacnea after defeating Flannery. I didn't evolve Cacnea until Lv 37 when it learned Needle Arm.

Easily defeated Norman with Bree, with a little help from everyone else.

Surfed up and down Routes 105-109 (Around Dewford) to level up my Pokemon, and got TM 13 Ice Beam in the abandoned ship. I can't wait until I get Dive, so I can get the water stone to evolve Pappa >.<

Captured Tropius, to use as an HM Slave. Notice how my HM Slaves are both Grass types, so that in an emergency, I could still legally use them.

Pappa easily took out Winona with it's Ice Beam and Surf, except Bree had to help with Skarmory.

I think that this Region will be the easiest to complete. Especially with the 8th Gym Leader and Champion specializing in Water Pokemon. I feel best now that the Fire and Flying Gyms are out of the way.

Update for Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Dragon).

Update #7 on White.

• Continued travelling around east Unova, and Nazgul finally evolved into Hydreigon!
• After defeating all the trainers and exploring Challenger's Cave, I beat Cheren at Victory Road.
• Then I took on Morimoto and Cynthia. Morimoto wasn't too difficult, but Cynthia's Garchomp was a challenge. Eventually was able to win thanks to Axeman's Dragon Dance.
• Continued training for the Elite Four against the Nimbasa City Stadium trainers.
• With the help of the Lucky Egg and some Rare Candies, I got everyone to L72.
• Flew to the Pokemon League and saved the game.

Im working on a dark monotype challenge.

I am in between Castellia city and Nimbasa city with:

Isis, My leopard lvl. 27
Sobek, my sandile lvl. 27
Ares, my scraggy lvl. 28

I also have a oshawott as hm slave lvl 14.

My only hard gym was Burgh, but i managed to beat him in the end with the help of all 3 my dark pokemon and especially scraggy. EWon't be catching any new pokemon untill I can find a pawnyard in the wild.

Final Update for Dragon UMC!

Final Update (#8) on White!

• Time for the Elite Four Round 2!
• Caitlin: Scarlet beat Musharna (2HKO) and Sigilyph (1HKO) with Crunch, Nazgul burnt Metagross to a crisp with Fire Blast, Dragonfly took care of Ranunculus with Crunch, and Poseidon beat Bronzong and Gothitelle with Surf + Hydro Pump for each.
• Grimsley: After Scarlet took out Sharpedo with Outrage, Nazgul swept the rest of the foes with Focus Blast and Dragon Pulse. Nazgul grew to L73 in the process.
• Shauntal: Draco started off by beating Cofagrigus with Outrage, then fell to Froslass. Axeman then went on a tear with Outrage, OHKOing Froslass, 2HKOing Golurk, and OHKOing Jellicent and Drifblim, then fell to confusion. Flygon cleaned up Chandelure with an Earthquake OHKO.
• Marshall: Scarlet was able to OHKO Breloom with Outrage, then fell to Sawk. Dragonfly was able to take him down with Earthquake + Dragon Claw, then was Retaliate'd by Throh. Poseidon cleaned him up with Hydro Pump, then beat Toxicroak with Dragon Pulse. Conkeldurr was finished off by Axeman's Outrage.

UMC Fighting- Hoenn

Update #1!

So, I started Ruby Version with a Torchic (Duh!) and named her Bulma. So, I played through the beginning of the game, and caught a Shroomish Lv. 5, named her Chi-Chi. Then, I pwned Roxanne with Bulma as a Combusken. In Granite Cave, I caught a Makuhita and named him Po (Just letting you know now, all of my fighting generations will have a Po.). I was scared Brawly would be a challenge, but I actually did ok. I went on as usual, but Wattson kept killing all of my Pokemon. Over and over again, I lost to Wattson. So, I decided to evolve Chi-Chi to a Breloom so I can have an easier time. On Chi-Chi's second try as a Breloom, she finally wins. Then, I keep going in circles between the Fiery Path and Route 112 (in the meantime, catching a Machop and accidentally naming her Kei, meant Keita) when I finally figure out that I'm supposed to go through Fallarbor Town and Meteor Falls. Then, I keep losing to Maxie on Mt. Chimney. Eventually, though, I win. Then, I beat Flannery without much harm done.
Then, I save on Route 112.

UMC Fighting- Hoenn

Update #2!

So, I went back to Petalburg and pwned the gym. Then, I went on as normal (Winona and Tate & Liza were especially hard for obvious reasons). On Mt. Pyre I caught a female Meditite Lv. 27 and named her Channeler (I have no idea why). I had a very hard time with Wallace and even Maxie! Even though I had Chi-Chi, Po ended up killing Wallace's Milotic (I used Po as a tanker most of the time and just used Strength over and over again, healing him when I needed to). Then, instead of going through Victory Road, I decided to do a Daycare trick to get Channeler and Keita some levels so everyone is on the same page, because Po, Chi-Chi, and Bulma got most of the levels in my team. Currently in the desert, near the mudslide doing the Daycare trick (Is that allowed? It's not a cheat, it's just a little trick to get some levels.). I won't list my team this time because not everyone who's supposed to be in the team is in the team yet. Will update again!

I defeated Tate and Liza with Harrley and Pappa.

As soon as I got Dive, I searched for a Blue Shard to trade for a Water Stone to evolve Pappa. Finally my team is all done :D

Found TM Earthquake in the Underwater Cavern or whatever, and taught it to Forrest.

Juan was trickier than I imagined, but eventually Harrley, Pappa, and Bree were able to take him down.

I went up to Meteor Falls to find TM 02 Dragon Claw, which I will eventually teach to Forrest, but right now I am going to wait until he learns Detect, and use that for a while... I don't know if I will keep that or Agility...

Anyway, now it's off to the Pokemon League!! Wooo!!!

Dark UMC update!

Now that christmas is over and family is gone, i can get back to this. I cant continue my other challenges yet since i didnt get white like i anticipated..

Last time, i defeated brawly. and now im on my way back to mauville to fight wattson.. It took a LOT of patience, but i finally beat him. Shaggy took out the magnemite and voltorb very easily. But magneton.. i hate that one. I used up all my paralyze heals and super potions to take it out...

I taught treecko rock smash and i opened up the path, got strength, taught it to him, and continued to the next town.. i interrupt team magma and save the doctors life. i make it back to the volcano and fight maxie.. very feminine name. It was a surprisingly difficult fight.. Well, i heal and made it to lavaridges gym. Flannery was easy except her torkoal almost took me out. I used a revive and finished it with Shaggy.

I got the go goggles and finally got my third member of my team, Spiky the cacnea! I gave him the EXP share and i traveled back to petalburg. I fought Norman and beat him extremely easily, like always, and i got surf from wallys parents.

I caught a zigazagoon and taught it surf, then i went to route 118, got the good rod, and on my first try i caught a carvahna! Her name is Peedo. I began to grind, and eventually Peedo evolved into sharpedo. I got tired of grinding in that area, so i moved up to the weather center and beat team magma. they died easier than the wild pokemon.. Then i surfed down and grabbed the leaf stone, beat my rival, and caught Disaster, the absol. I grinded Spiky to 32 and he evolved. I tried grinding Disaster, but it became a nuisance, so i boxed him and challenged winona. She wasnt to much trouble. I had to use a revive, but i managed to beat her quite easily.

Continuing my journey, i found team magma the mountain and saw maxie take the orb, so i followed him to slateport and saw him steal the submarine. After that, i flew back to lilycove and entered their "secret" base. I ran through the base quickly and saw maxie escape.. I surfed over to mossdeep and fought tate and liza and beat them so very easily. I then caught a magikarp, evolved it, and taught it dive.

I began to grind until Acorn finally learned extrasensory so i could evolve him into a shrifty. After that, i entered the cave and destroyed team magma. I found the next town and defeated groundon with Peedo very easily. After i finished goundon, i started grinding to level 50. I challenged wallace and destroyed him with Acorn and Spiky. Easiest gym battle of all..

OK, I'd like to sign up for a Normal UMC.
I started with Red.
Username: Facelift
Game Name: Norman (a tribute to the best normal type trainer ever!)
I chose Charmander, used it to beat Blue and catch a Rattata (Named Tat) and Pidgey (Named Orville), and then I boxed it.

I trained them up to level 13, and then took on Blue.

Before that, I had found and caught a Spearrow, and named it Spearman

Viridian Forest was really easy. I trained up Orville and it evolved; I trained up Spearman to level 12, and Tat to level 16.

Brock was harder than I thought. Tat disposed of his Geodude with 10 Hyper Fangs. But his Onix, Tat got it down to yellow HP before falling, the Onix then took out Spearman. Finally, Orville beat it with a couple of Gusts.

Final Dark UMC update for hoenn!

Before i challenged the E4, i started to grind to level 55, then i remembered something.. I'm rich! So after Peedo got to 54 i stopped and i went through victory road, smacked wally, bought a butt load of items, then i challenged the E4..

Sydney
I didn't realize that i almost had the EXACT same team as him.. And i didnt realize how easy someone would be able to take me out. I won, but i saw my weaknesses. I had Acorn use brick break on mightyena and absol, switched to Speedo and used ice beam on shrifty and cacturne, and Spiky used needle arm to beat his sharpedo. easy for me.

Phoebe
She was extremely easy. I had Spiky fight the whole time, except for one moment i switched him out and had Shaggy kill something. spikes, faint attack took care of everything but sableye, but i had needle arm for that.

Glacia
She was harder than the other 2. Shrifty fainted after killing 2 1/2 of her pokes. Si i had to use the my slaves to heal, but Shaggy ended up finishing it up with crunch.

Draco
He wasnt even worth fighting.. Peedos ice beam one hitted all of his pokes...

Steven
This was the easiest i have EVER beaten him.. Peedo did all of the work, basically. Earthquake took out aggron and most of metagross, ice beam took out cradily and claydol, surf one hitted skarmory, and it was a group effort for armaldo, everyone fainted but Shaggy, and my first dark type of this region finished it.

Cacnea's and Cacturnes have always interested me and remind me of home(desert), so i was excited to use them. They didnt prove very useful, since theyre slow, but they still help a lot. I'm planning on using them again for my grass umc.

The only female on my team, she was the most useful. Ice beam and earthquake helped a lot. And she was powerful. Only being a carvhanna for a short period, she didnt have time to show any flaws. She also helped most for when i was training with the t.v. crew people.


Finished this one a lot faster than i expected.. Now i need to decide which dark type i want to trade over for platinum.. I'll post an update sooner than later(hopefully). Any suggestions for a dark type to start with would be helpful. I cant really decide...
