Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread

Update 1 of my Leaf Green Normal Monotype Challenge.

- Started with Squirtle, caught a Pidgey and named him Hopper, boxed Squirtle
- Caught a Rattata, named him Orville
- Grinded for Brock. Beat Geodude with Pidgey after 6 Sand Attacks. Beat Onix with Orville, following 6 Leers and a couple of Hyper Fangs
- Made it through Mount Moon, catching a Jigglypuff (Carmen), a Spearow (Athena) and a Clefairy (Daisy)
- Made it to Cerulean City.

This Challenge isn't much fun so far, but then I haven't had the opportunity to get any good moves yet. Gen I Normal Pokemon are a bit dull; hopefully the Challenge will improve when I move onto Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh.

just beat Misty. had to buy 20 Super Potions to survive Starmie since Jiyong wasn't fast enough to hit it, and it used Water Pulse 20x consecutively. Used up my Potions to survive the Rapid Spins and Swifts until Jiyong got lucky and Scratch (didn't get Mega Punch or Kick since I need to be able to catch Pokemon to advance) gave a critical hit.

Defeated Elite Four, not very easy, then did the Resort Areas sub-quest, then took on E4 again, this time more harder for my team. But we did it!

Fire Mono Kanto Update

Left Cerulean to go to Vermilion.
Got on the S.S. Anne and fought all the trainers, including my rival Key.
Got Cut from the seasick captain and taught it to Oddish, as well as Flash.
Went to Vermilion Gym and beat all the trainers & Lt. Surge.
Back tracked to Cerulean and went through the Rock Tunnel. Didn't go to the Tower in Lavender since I knew I wouldn't be able to see anything, and went west towards Celadon through the underground path.
Cleared out Team Rocket's Hideout & got the Silph Scope.
Found the hidden Eevee, evolved it to Flareon, and taught it Dig.
Went to Erika's gym and beat her and all the trainers.

Current Team:
Lv. 30 Relaxed nature ♂ Flareon (Junhyung)
Lv. 44 Mild nature ♂Charizard (Jiyong)
Meowth (For Pickup ability)
Oddish (Flash + Cut HM slave)

Starting my updates after brock because nothing interesting happened.

After beating brock I started to head of to mount moon. Caught a nidoran female. Named it Thequeen.Trained it to level 16 to evolve it. After that I went into mount moon and caught a geodude and named it grump(grump is my mascot of my mono ground type runs because it can be caught in every gen) trained grump to level 16. Next I'm starting my trek through mount moon.

Update on Ultimate Flying Mono-type challenge - Sinnoh region.

Oreburgh Gate → Eterna Forest:

Spoiler:

• Just before entering Oreburgh, Hawkeye evolved into Starvaria.
• In Oreburgh City, I went and found Roark in the mine, fought all hte workers as well.
• Challenged the gym and got Starvaria to L17 on the gym trainers.
  
  
  
  
  Roark wasn't too difficult, although it was time-consuming. At the beginning of the battle against Geodude I spammed Double Team 6 times, only getting hit once by Rock Throw, then slowly beat him with Wing Attack. Onix kept using Screech and missing; Wing Attack also slowly eroded his HP. And finally Cranidos was also taken down by Wing Attack and never hit with Headbutt.
  
  
• After that I headed back into the Gate and Rock Smash'd with Grunt to the lower level.
• Caught two Pokemon - a Psyduck named Ducky as a future Flash slave, and the second member of my team, an Adamant:D Zubat named Shadow.
• Headed back to Jubilife and went north through the cave, ending up in Floarama Town.
• Got the Pluck TM and taught it to Shadow.
• Went east to Valley Windworks, beat the Galactic Grunt, then went back to Floarama Town and rescude the Honey Man, getting the key in the process.
• After slapping Honey on the tree in the meadow, I went back to the Windworks and saved the scientist.
  
  
  
  
  Purugly killed Shadow, but was no match for Hawkeye.
  
  
• After waiting a bit, I went back to the Honey Tree, and found a Combee!
• After resetting a couple times to get a female one, I caught it and named her Boss.
• Went north to Eterna Forest, raising Boss as best as I could.
• Cheryl helped Boss get to L20 while beating all the trainers. Saved at this point.

Am in Eterna Forest, training with Cheryl.

Finally got around to finishing my Kanto part of the ground monotype and finished the elite 4. The only challenging part was lorelei I could barely get a move in on her.

-So im Still wandering aroung the forest looking for a beedle. Its strange i keep seeing everything but (and now loads of caterpie now that i have caught one!).
-Finally after countles other battles i found a Weedle, hiding in what i call pikachu valley (when were were younger there was a rumour abound that one single area of the forest had a higher chace to get a pikuchu than any where else, now its just force of habit, bi
ut if i want a pikachu, i go there!)
-Quick run back to Tokiwa City to heal up, then, Finally (after about a week of on and off searching through these bloody grassy areas) im going to challange the first trainer. with my lv 4 caterpie and lv 4 beedle. He sends out a LV6 beedle........ whoops.
-My LV3 beedle is slowly chiping away its health. Its only the fact that he keeps using string shot (im slower than him anyway...) that i can keep up. Beedle goes down, Unfortuntaly, even with a first turn poison, his caterpie (also LV6) 'sweeps' my team. time to grind.
-This is tough! anything level 3 or above wears me down before i can faint them. So im finding myself very cautiously fighting LV2 and belows and running from LV3 and aboves. I dont think ive ever had to think so much whilst grinding at this stage in the game!
-After whats has seemed like an age i have fought enough Koratta and Poppo to get my team to resonable levels (both evolved and to lv 7 and 8) and am now going to try to take on Shigeru on the path leading out from the west side of Tokiwa city.
-I lead with Transel, he send out Poppo at lv9. UNofrtunatly he swept my team easily. More training is need. Damn these Bugs are hard to raise!
- I decided that i should work my way through the forest first, i can come back later to wipe that smile off Shigeru's face!


Im still not a part of the ultimate challengers list on the first page. IS there a reason at all?

Well, Monozu evolves into Jiheddo at level 50, then in Sazandora at level 64, so what? :D

Anyways, I'm getting prepared for Elite Four, grinding the team to Lv. 55 to make them nearly fully evolved (except for Jiheddo).

Unova League defeated!

Vs. Shikimi: Jiheddo did all the match.
Desukan and Shandera both went down with 2HKO Crunch.
Shandera were Critical KOed.
Burungeru wnet down with 2HKO Dragon Rush, whilst Goruugu needed 2 Dragon Pulse before surrending.

Vs. Renbu: Nageki and Dageki both defeated with a Critical 1HKO of Barujina's Fly.
Roopushin with Waruvial's Dragon Claw and Grass Knot.
Zuruzukin with 2HKO of Tyranitar's Thunderbolt.

Vs. Caitlin: All went down with a 1HKO of Barujina's Shadow Ball, except Shinpora, he needed a Critical 1HKO of Tyranitar's Thunderbolt.

Vs. Giima: All the match were in Kirikizan's hands.
Brick Break and X-Scissor were the only moves I used, the first took down Lepardas and Kirikizan with an 1HKO (Kirikizan had Critical KO), Waruvial needed 3 X-Scissor to go down, and Lepardas two.

The N battle were easy.
After getting Zekrom, I obviously decided to not use it, instead I started with Jiheddo, whom took down Reshiram very easily (2 Dragon Pulse).
Abagoura and Baibanira went down to a couple of Waruvial's Grass Knot.
Archeos needed 2 Tyranitar's Thunderbolt to go down, and Zoroark and Gigigear went down to both Kirikizan's Brick Break and X-Scissor.

The Geechisu battle were another story.
Desukan went easily down by a 1HKO of Jiheddo's Dragon Rush.
Kirikizan and Baffuron went down by 4 or 5 hits of my Kirikizan's Brick Break.
Gamageroge went down by a 1HKO of Waruvial's Grass Knot, fat guy.
Shibirudon went down by Drapion's Sludge Bomb and then a Venom Shock, the only time I used him. :(
And the final Pokèmon, Sazandora, went down after 3 or 4 Jiheddo's Dragon Pulse.

Team Plasma is over. Forever.
After the conclusion, I went to Route 16, ready to explore Unova's eastern part!

I'll temporary store Drapion to take out Futachimaru, to explore and train myseld greater.
