returned to route 102 to train brella
then went back to route 105 and cleared petalburg woods
arrived in rustboro city, went to rusturf cave and level grinded to LV 16
Scepta evolved
challenged roxanne ( it was almost too easy)
beat all trainers on route 116
went back into rusturf cave and destroyed the grunt
went into the devon building and got devon goods, letter and pokenav
left rustboro, went to see mr briney in his house
arrived in dewford, went into granite cave and gave steven his letter.
saved and turned off. ( for about five minutes)

grinded my team to LV 19( i know not very impressive)
entered the gym, challenged Brawly and i was like OMG brella just soloed a gym without any potions, must be tougher than i thought.
left dewford and grinded my team at slateport, yay brella evolved
all pokemon LV 23
beat the pants off of team aqua grunts
left slateport to get to mauville

Update for Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Normal).

-Togepi Hatched out of the egg (should I use this...?)
No. Use Miltank, she's a Beast. Rollout is nasty against Lance. Tauros is an option too. And get all the Return TMs you can get!

YES! Make Togepi happy enough to be a Togetic, then get a shiny stone to make him/her a Togekiss: a seriously good wall/status causer/sweeper.

https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Togekiss_(Pokémon)

'Course, this depends on which ability you got when it hatched. Hustle raises attack by 1.5 but lowers accuracy (if you got this, breed it again. The Togepi family aren't geared toward physical attacks), Serene Grace makes status effects more likely to happen.

Togetic can learn Ancient Power at 33 or via TM and Togekiss can learn Rollout via TM. Return will be even more useful on Togekiss than on Miltank.

Poison Ultimate Monotype Kanto Leg (Blue) Complete!

-Beat Giovanni using everyone except for Mito (Muk)
-Beat rival at Route 22
-Defeated Victory Road
-Grinded team to Lv48
-Challenged Lorelei. Beat her whole team other than Jynx with Mito alone.
-Bruno took a team effort from Tetrid (Tentacruel) and Docori (Venomoth)
-I planned on using Docori on the Agatha fight, but when Gengar proved too much, Lina (Nidoqueen) seemed to fit the bill perfectly with Earthquake. Golbat fell to Tetrid's Ice Beam.
-Lance was easy. Mito 1HKO'd Gyarados with Thunderbolt, and Tetrid took care of the rest with a combination of Ice Beam and Surf (for Aerodactyl)
-Blue was the toughie. Pidgeott fell to Mito's last Thunderbolt and some Sludge. I also used Minimize. Alakazam came next, and used Reflect, which didn't save him from Mito's Explosion. Rhydon fell to Tetrid's Bubblebeam, and Exeggutor didn't stand up to Tetrid's Ice Beam very well (Two shots). This left Charizard and Gyarados. Having run out of Thunderbolts, this wasn't the easiest fight (against Gyarados). Lina sacrificed herself to use a couple Rock Slides, and Docori finished off Gyarados with Toxic, Double-Team and Psychic. The Double-Teams in place weren't enough to protect her from Charizard, though, and Tetrid 1HKO'd it with Surf.

Final Team:
Lina the Nidoqueen Lv49
Earthquake, Rock Slide, Strength, Body Slam

Tetrid the Tentacruel Lv50
Surf, Bubblebeam, Ice Beam, Mega Drain

Docori the Venomoth Lv49
Psychic, Psybeam, Toxic, Double Team

Mito the Muk Lv50
Sludge, Thunderbolt, Minimize, Explosion

MVP Gyms: Docori. Psychic moves are killer in this game.
MVP E4: Mito and Tetrid. Mito pretty much single-handedly killed Lorelei, and without Explosion I never would have defeated Alakazam. Tetrid was probably my all-around best fighter.
LVP: Surprisingly, Lina. The other's were just more valuable most of the time. Earthquake was a big help for Agatha though.

Next up? Crystal.

Dude, he's playing Crystal. Can't get Togekiss. And Togetic sucks, because Rock, Flying and Normal moves are all based off attack in Gen II, which like you said is crappy for him. Miltank has much higher attack, and happiness is not that hard to get, just using someone regularly will get them max happiness by the time the Elite Four rolls around. If he was playing HG/SS, then Togekiss would be a good option.

I assume you have a flyer, Weavile05, but if you don't, Pidgeot or Fearow are the best ones.

For the Johto leg of my Poison UMC, could I play ShinyGold or a similar remake instead of an actual Gen II game? Because I don't want to play Crystal and I can't find a HG or SS ROM that I can actually download... I'm thinking Liquid Crystal right now.
Nevermind. I'll brave the bad movesets.

Poison UMC update

I stored rosey and caught a roselia(Spore) since i didnt want to bother with the whole happiness and morning thing with her. I gave her the exp share, how i got it, i do not remember, but i challenged the gym leader and swept through her with Zulu. I continued my adventure and caught a gastly(Smokey) in that grave tower thing. Gave him the exp share, and went to the ruins and got defog. i left, spent 10 minutes fighting the farmer and his daughter, then i got to the next town, where i grinded Smokey up and he evolved into a haunter. Right after he evolved, i traded him and got him to a gengar. I challenged the gym after that, leading with Zulu. I basically swept through the gym, leveling him up, but not happy enough yet. I defeated maylene easily and ran into dawn. I listened to her story and fought the galactic grunts with her. I defeated them easy, she wasnt really needed. After she got her pokedex back and i listened to lookers pointless rambling, i left the city and made my way to the next, which is holding the final 2 members of my team. First, i went to route 212 and caught a crogunk(Gunko). Then, I looked through the binoculars and found where skorupis hid. I went to the area and caught a male skorupi(Scorp). I started to grind(smokey holding exp share) and Zulu evolved into crobat, at last! I continued to grind until i felt Spore was ready to fight Crash Waker. After getting Spore to level 35, i felt she was ready. so, with the exp share still on Gunko, i entered the gym. Crasher actually gave me a tough battle. Well, the gyarados did. I had to use zulu for that. but the others died by magic leaf and giga drain.

After i defeated Crasher, i followed the grunt and defeated him easily. I got the secret potion from cynthia and i flew to the group of psyducks and made them scatter.

My Current Team...

And first update on Pokemon Crystal (Yes, I decided to use Crystal despite crappy movesets)

So, I caught a Spinarak (Fodder, originally planned to be replaced by Venomoth but not so sure anymore) and trained it up. Now that he's a permanent team member, I'm going to rename him Docori II (Numbers aren't allowed in Gen 2) and also picked up a Zubat (Daclus). I grinded both to level 12 and challenged Falkner. Daclus beat Falkner single-handedly simply by using Bite repeatedly. I then went south, got the Old Rod, and picked up Tetrid II (Tentacool)

So, my team is going to be full of substitutes.
Docori the Venomoth -> Docori II the Ariados
Tetrid the Tentacruel -> Tetrid II the Tentacruel
Lina the Nidoqueen -> (As of yet unnamed) the Nidoking
Mito the Muk -> Mito II the Weezing
And two newcomers, an as yet unnamed Arbok and Daclus the Crobat.

I've got an update on both my challenges.

Just bet the rocket hideout, probably not gonna update for a while, to much HW :(

UMC Sinnoh leg update

Got through the Victory Road and beat my rival Miyavi.
Prior to challenging anyone, I got rid of Taemin's Cut and replaced it with Rock Slide, as well as taught him Flare Blitz. We got through Landon(?) fairly easily, though Taemin fainted and had to be replaced by Minho. Had the most issues with Bertha and had to soft reset a few times, but thankfully Taemin had Grass Knot and her Pokemon were heavy for extra damage. Flint was easy since his type was the same as mine and I had a move to give him a weakness. The most trouble I'll have is with the Psychic guy with Taemin's Psychic weakness, and Jinguk only being at lvl 50.

Current Team:

Taemin/Infernape lvl 60
Rock Slide | Grass Knot | Flare Blitz | Close Combat

Minho/Rapidash lvl 56
Take Down | Bounce | Flare Blitz | Solar Beam

Jinguk/Houndoom lvl 50
Toxic | Flame Thrower | Bite | Sunny Day

Finally I can update the last part of my Fire UMC.
Defeated the E4 twice, also Adeku, Cynthia, Morimoto and Rivals.
