I have finally finished Kanto!

I took me about 10 tries to beat the champion because of his annoying Venasaur. -_-

Well, now it's time for Johto. I hope it's okay that I didn't dp R/B and that I'm going to do Shiny Gold instead of G/S/C.

Ultimate Psychic Monotype Challenge - Kanto Complete!!

I wanted to give everyone a detailed, or at least some what!, detailed story of what happened and junk but.. I got too into it, haha! I ended up just playing it all the way through without posting!! sorry!!

Here's the final image, though!!

My Pokemon were all around level 50, the highest being 52 AFTER the Elite Four! Haha! I got lucky, honestly!! With two of the elite four being weak against my type, I didn't really have to try that hard after the first one and my Jynx tore through Lance easily!!

Starting Johto on Heart Gold or Soul Silver next, I'm not sure which!!, and at School I'm already doing Hoenn on Emerald! I'll keep you guys posted and, of course, list which I'm talking about!

I was doing a single monotype on White with steel, but it's been so fun I'm gonna have to change it to an ultimate. Would it be alright if I finished my White run and then moved on to FireRed, SoulSilver, Emerald and then Platinum? If not, understood but it would be great as I'm already pretty far into the game.
-Started out and picked Snivy so I'm at a type disadvantage.
-Did the beginning stuff, beat the first gym with Snivy and ditched it as soon as I beat the Plasma grunts in Wellspring Cave.
-Caught Drilbur, named it Ares after the Greek God of War.
-Level up Drilbur until he was sufficiently leveled to take on Lenora.
-Grinded and grinded until I could finally take out Burgh's Leavanny with two Slash.
-Evolved into Excadrill before taking on Elesa, destroyed her with Dig and Rock Slide.
-Got rid of Plasma in Cold Storage and took out Clay (Earthquake>his pokemon)
-Made it to Chargestone Cave where I was finally able to catch the second and third members of my team, Hephaestus the Klink and Aniketos the Ferroseed.
-Gave Aniketos the Lucky Egg and trained until he evolved at level 40.
-Gave Hephaestus the Lucky Egg, used his Charge Beam to solo Skyla's gym.
-Klink evolved and just kept destroying so I used him over the others for a while, soloed Brycen without stopping to heal through all trainers.
-Beat Plasma in Dragonspiral Tower and Hephaestus evolved into KlingKlang.
-Saved outside of the Desert Resort.

-Got the Master Ball from Juniper and started on Route 10.

-Made it through Victory Road without stopping to catch a Durant, figured there was no point as Adonis and Ares already knew X-Scissor.
-Adonis evolved while battling a trainer with the three elemental monkeys.
-Took on the Elite 4 and lost after beating the first three, predictably to Marshal.
-Put a Ferroseed and Pawniard I had caught before (bad natures) in my party as Revive fodder.
-Ares learned Drill Run and critted most of Marshal's pokemon, taking him out.
-Saved in front of N's room.

Ice-Type Ultima Monotype Challenge

So I'd like to sign up for the Monotype Challenge! :D
//EDIT I'm not going ultimate, I'm sorry for the confusing header

Challenger: Colourful
Type: Ice
Games: FireRed

Now funny thing is, I've thought of doing this just 2 days ago and am already done with my run, so this will be my first and also final update :P
Here's a brief summary of my playthrough:

Note that for this run I used a modified version of FireRed into which I implemented a guy in Pallet Town who gives me a LVL 5 Shellder right at the start, so that I can actually do this Ice-run =)

Spoiler:

1. Boulder Badge
- I chose Bulbasaur as my starter / picked up my Shellder
- fought my way to Viridian City and deposited Bulbasaur in the PC
- fought through Virian Forest (with some trouble, as the poison often got the better part of my Shellder and I didn't take any Antidotes with me)
- entered Pewter City to heal up my Shellder and then trained Shellder to level 17 on route 2
- kicked Brock's butt using Aurora Beam
- left Pewter City

2. Cascade Badge
- traversed Mt. Moon with some trouble, because of the damn nerds and their Magnemite which one-hitted my Shellder a couple of times with Thundershock
- entered Cerulean City
- fought all the trainers (including Green, which was very easy) on the bridge and on the way to Bill, got the ticket for the MS Anne from Bill
- trained to level 30 in the grass on Route 4
- first try to fight Misty failed miserably (Staryu already almost killed Shellder and then Starmie finished it off quickly)
- went on to Vermillion City to regenerate from the defeat and train in Diglett's Cave
- trained SHellder to LVL 40 with ease, gave it a try again, lost again (that damn Starmie!!!)
- trained Shellder to LVL 43 in Diglett's Cave and finally won against Misty to aquire the Cascade Badge

3. Thunder Badge
- went back to Vermillion City and entered the MS Anne
- stomped all the trainers on the MS Anne (good thing Shellder is only Water-Type, the Growltihes woulda been hard haha)
- easily won against Green again and got the HM Cut
- left the MS Anne, picked up Bulbasaur from the PC and taught it the new HM
- cut down the tree in front of Lt. Surge's Gym
- entered the Gym and quickly fought all the trainers, went to the Pkmn-Center to heal
- challenged Lt. Surge for 3 times and lost, but was able to own him with Aurora Beam and very lucky Protect-usage in the fourth try

4. Rainbow Badge
- went to the Poke-Fan's house and got the voucher for the bike, went back to Cerulean City to pick it up
- cut down the tree east of Cerulean City to get to Rock Tunnel
- crept through Rock Tunnel (c'mon Flash is for loosers haha) and arrived in Lavender Town
- healed at the Poke-Center and continued west
- fought the trainers on Route 8 and took the Underground Path to Celadon City
- healed up and bought two Water Stones in the Mall
- FINALLY evolved my LVL 49 Shellder to CLoyster (I had Shellder learn Ice Beam first when it dinged LVL 49)
- entered the Celadon Game Corner to fight Team Rocket and get the Silph Scope (my Cloyster completely demolished Giovanni's Pokemon^^)
- healed up and challenged Erika in the Celadon City Gym
- Ice Beam obliterated every Pokemon inside the Gym

5. Soul Badge
- went back to Lavender Town to stop Team Rocket's machinations in the Pokemon Tower and also beat Green once again
- acquired the Poke-Flute from Mr. Fuji
- took the Route 12 south of Lavender Town to wake up the first Snorlax AND get the Super Rod!
- entered Vermillion City to fish
- I was lucky, the first Pokemon pulled out of the water was a Shellder
- caught the Shellder to finally have a second Pokemon in my team :D
- evolved it using the other Water Stone I bought
- trained it up to LVL 40
- went back to Route 12 and continued south to travel to Fuchsia City
- went into the Safari Zone right away and picked up the Gold Teeth and HM 03 SUrfer!
- taught Surfer to the low-level Cloyster
- challenged Koga, kicked his butt with Ice Beams, Surfers and some Protects

6. Marsh Badge
- departed Fuchsia City and fought the Biker-Crew on Route 17
- took the HM 02 Fly from that nice woman at the top of Route 16
- caught a Spearow on Route 17 and taught it how to fly (haha that sounds cheesy ^_^)
- flew to Celadon City to get the tea from the nice old lady in the apartment-complex
- gave the tea to the guards that wouldn't let me to Saffron City before
- entered the city and freed Silph Co. from Team Rocket to get the Master Ball, but more importantly acquire the third Pokemon for my Ice-Team: Lapras!
- took Lapras and trained it to level 35 in Diglett's Cave (Oh how I love that place with Ice-Pokemon :D)
- flew to Pallet Town and surfed south to own some swimming trainers and reach Cinnabar Island
- trained Lapras (which I taught Surfer too) in the Pokemon Mansion until it reached LVL 43
- flew back to Saffron City and wiped the whole Karate-Dojo with Lapras
- entered the Saffron City Gym after healing up and easily won against Sabrina using Lapras and the newer Cloyster to get the Marsh Badge!

7. Volcano Badge
- flew to Fuchsia City to leave it to the South and surf to the Seafoam Islands to catch the last member of my Pokemon-Team
- caught a Seel LVL 30 and trained it in Diglett's Cave until it hit level 35
- flew back to Cinnabar Island and trained Seel to level 42 in the Pokemon Mansion, also got the ?-Key and TM Blizzard
- I had Dewgong learn Blizzard
- challenged Blaine and beat him with Surfers from Cloyster, Lapras and Dewgong

8. Earth Badge
- flew to Viridian City to take on Giovanni
- easily beat that noob with my icy attacks (hehe)
- left Viridian City to the West to journey to the Indigo Plateau

Indigo Plateau
- rushed through the Victory Road thanks to Rock- and Fyling-Type Pokemon being weak to Ice-Attacks
- entered the Indigo Plateau to challenge the Elite Four
- made it to Green's Exeggutor on the first try due to hard abuse of Revives, Max Potions and Full Heals, but lost
- trained close to the exit of the Victory Road until:
- Dewgong hit LV 59
- Cloyster hit LVL 63
- Lapras hit LVL 65 and
- Cloyster hit LVL 70

- challenged the ELite Four again and won! :D

I have to say this run was extremely fun and I really learned to love Ice-Type Pokemon! I had never used any of the Pokemon I used in this run before, but especially Cloyster was really awesome! :D

to those concerned, my laptop crashed a little while back, and hard. Nothing was recovered. This means I lost my progress on my Pokemon emerald psychic run, so I will have to start over. I am determined to be the first psychic type champion that include unova! and if not,then just a pyshic type champ. also, my entries will be a little less detailed.

EDIT: In case you're wondering why a computer crash would make me lose my progress on an Gameboy Advance game, it's because was using an emulator and I lost the save file it saved too.just wanted to clarify.)

Dark-Monotype FireRed

Hi guys, it's me again, I've had so much fun with my last Monotype-Run, that I immediately started another one. This time I did a Dark-Type Monotype Challenge in FireRed.
I'm done with it now, and would just like to give my at the same time first and final update about this run.

So for the record:

Challenger: Colourful
Type: Dark

Here's how the run went, notice, that since it was a Dark-Type run in Kanto, I had to hack my pokemon in. I therefore followed the rules myrrhman set up in the second post of this thread.

Spoiler:

1. Boulder Badge
- I started out with a Seedot as my first pokemon, which gave me a hell lot of trouble, because the only attack move it knew was Bide... Yeah levelin from LVL 5 to about 15 only using Bide...
- Brock was surprisingly easy, I somehow was able to crit him 2 times with bide

2. Cascade Badge
- I took a LVL 7 Poochyena from my box in the Poke-Center and grinded it up to lvl 12 before entering Mt. Moon
- I went through Mt. Moon and beat all the trainers in the North of Cerulean City
- I beat Misty with my Nuzleaf at LVL 26 and a Mightyena LVL 19 ( Nuzleaf did most of the work using Nature Power)

3. Thunder Badge
- I then picked up a LVL 10 Corphish from the box in the Poke-Center and trained it up to about LVL 20
- I went onto the MS ANNE and got the HM Cut
- I taught Cut to the Bulbasaur I picked at the start of my run to use Bulbasaur as an HM-Slave
- I cut down the tree in front of Vermillion City Gym and challenged Lt. SUrge with a LVL 31 Nuzleaf, a LVL 26 Mightyena and a pretty useless LVL 24 Corhpish which instantly died :P

4. Rainbow Badge
- I travelled through Rock Tunnel and went to Lavender Town
- I went to Celadon City to end Team Rockets doings in the Casino and challenge Erika
- In this fight my Mightyena LVL 33 was especially usefull, my new Crawdaunt LVL 30 and Shiftry LVL 35 were pretty useful too

5. Soul Badge
- I went to Fuchsia City and got HM Surfer and Strength ( I trained the Surfer to my Crawdaunt and Strength to my Shiftry
- I trained my Pokemon and beat Koga with Mightyena, Corphish and Crawdaunt again, I can't remember the levels tho

6. Marsh Badge
- I picked up my Murkrow from the PC (LVL 15) and trained it up to about 35 with my other Pokemon
- I went to Saffron City and completely owned everyone in the gym there, including Sabrina

7. Volcano Badge
- I flew back to Pallett Town and surfed down to Cinnabar Island
- I went into the Pokemon Mansion and got the ?-Key and trained my Pokemon
- I beat Blaine using mostly Crawdaunt, my new Murkrow was pretty useless here

8. Earth Badge
- I picked up a Lavitar LVL 20 from my PC and trained it up to about 46, my other Pokemon where around that LVL too
- I challenged Giovanni and beat him with Murkrow and Crawdaunt

Indigo Plateau
- I went trough Victory Road to enter the Indo Plateau
- I healed up and went back into the exit-part of the Victory Road to grind my Pokemon

Hey guys, I'm starting a monotype run in Soul Silver.

Challenger: Lincoln West

Game: Soul Silver

I'm going to take Chikorita as my starter, so that my rival has a fire type just to make the run more challenging. I'll keep you posted.

Update: Went through the intro, grabbed Chikorita and legged it all the way to Mr. Pokemon's house, getting the running shoes on the way. Got the egg and the pokedex, then started sprinting home. Battled and defeated my rival then got back to Prof. Elm. After finally getting some pokeball I caught a Weedle and Ledyba to give me a strong foundation for my team. Now I just need to grind out some serious training.

Grinded out some levels then conquered Sprout Tower in Violet City. A bit more training and I was able to beat Falkner on the second attempt. Current team - Beedrill Level 15 and Ledyba Level 15. Stay tuned!

Anyway, my team is mostly in the mid-40s with Po the Machamp at level 50 and Tarzan my Infernape at level 61 (or somthin' like that).

@Zerkon - May I suggest using a Staryu? He evolves into Starmie who is Psychic.

Update on my Soul Silver Bug run.

After beating Falkner I made my way South to Azalea Town LIKE A BOSS. Popped into the nearby forest and caught a Paras (whoo hoo!) bringing my team to a tidy three. Currently training the Paras a bit before I chase Team Rocket out of the Slowpoke Well.
