4th Gen Umbreon is a good pokemon

ok so everyone says umbreon is like the worst pokemon ever because it has poor attack but seriously before all this EV and IV junk came out it was i great pokemon so why do people hate it so much

I like it it's cool and its have pretty cool attacks plus you could teach it some tms to give it better attacks and now you can raise its stats with EV training.

LOL, aren't you aware that the EV system was always there? They just changed it so it couldn't be easily abused.

so why do people hate it so much

People hate it because it is a defensive pokemon.
I never used it, but it seems to make a pretty good OU pokemon, if Smogon is correct with their data.

Those who don't like Umbreon don't know how to use it properly (or have been pwned by someone who did use it correctly). Baton Pass makes it a great support Pokemon, and Umbreon can take a few hits while it increases its stats before Passing them on. It even works well on its own, able to take its opponent's strong hits.

Admittedly, Umbreon isn't the ideal in-game Pokemon, but it's the competitive scene where it gets to really shine.

Umbreon worked great as a staller for me when I was fighting the Elite Four, not to mention the perks of Baton Pass. o:

I've always liked Umbreon. Infact, I plan on using it on my next playthrough.

Umbreon rules. Hell, i've even used it in Ubers, because most leads are Deoxys.

It's not the best in-game poke, but it can be used
