If it's washed, why does it matter?
It might just be the idea that there's a higher chance that undergarments and pyjamas have... unpleasant histories... compared to shirts and pants.
I don't like the idea that, although washed, the lingerie and undergarments at thrift stores have had sexual bodily fluids on them.
That, and I don't trust that washing will completely eliminate STDs. I personally prefer to just avoid that chance altogether. Sure, t-shirts and pants could've come into contact with sexual bodily fluids, too, but the chances are way less significant compared to lingerie - which is worn primarily for sexiness, and therefore probably sex - and undergarments, where women could've lactated, or been aroused and excreted certain fluids, or men could've had a bedtime accident.
I prefer to not potentially put myself in harm's way if I can avoid it :P and if I can get a nice lingerie elsewhere for 20$ instead of 10$, I'll do it, since I'm more confident that there's less chance it'd have experienced the same kind of "treatment."
