Nope! I'm running Windows 10. Thank you, though!

Hrm. I've experienced that 'script is hanging' issue a few times myself, but it was because I clicked off the window as soon as I executed the game. In other words, the game was no longer the active window/process. I wonder if this has something to do with process priority. In other pokemon fan games, you can see similar behavior if you try to load the game and immediately switch to another window, though I've never seen any actually crash because of it (except for Radiant).

Hopefully we can figure out a way to get it to work for you. Please let us know if you find a way to get it to run -- I will make sure this issue gets to the wiki.

    EDIT:
I looked into this some more and it turns out it's definitely an issue with RPG Maker (particularly for the 'XP' version).
It's possible that there are other processes running that may interfere with loading the game. There is a timer internal to RPG Maker that crashes the game if certain scripts (drawing graphics, in particular) take longer than 10s.
Therefore, the recommendation is to make sure that you've got plenty of resources (RAM & CPU) while Pokemon Radiant is running and that it is the window that has focus, particularly when starting it up.

As a side note, I could totally see bloatware/malware interfering with RPG Maker startup by stealing priority of the process. Anyway, these are just possibilities. Again, please let us know.

BTW I ment to say this the other day but I like the new immunities for the rest of the starter selections in the game. Mudkip's in particular really helps Swampert in the end since it sort of makes it similar to a quagsire's water absorb to a degree (without the healing obviously). I also like chikorita and torchic's immunities as it makes a good deal of logical sense, and squirtle's type immunity is a nice way to just screw over someone lol.

I dont mean to spam another reply in succession but I came across a very annoying issue. I have no idea if this is an issue with Winrar or not but when I save new data and then have to close the game to do a reset (since f12 crashes the game still) 9 times out of ten after the game saves all its changes Winrar itself freezes up completely forcing me to force it to close. Well this time it froze up before it fully saved my progress and now I'm back where I was before my last save. Given the open world nature of this game I have to go out of my way to avoid trainers to make sure I can fill up my pokedex with all te low level pokemon (caterpie and the like to start) since there is no benefit in breeding some pokemon due to the lack of egg moves. But due to terrain constraints (those patches of cracked groud shouldnt exist) among other small issues I keep getting thrown into the view of a trainer forcing me to reset, and in this case it cost me since winrar crashed.

I dunno what causes winrar to crash after shutting the game down but this might be worth looking into

I recommend not running the game from winrar, just unzip it to a folder

There are plans to rehaul Radiant soon. ETA around September to November, give or take.

My issue with winrar has been fixed at least thanks to prowlcop, so I'm doing good for now. Got a jolly grookey as a starter and I have a timid Joltik. So far im doing ok this run

BTW quick question, something that's bothered me for a while is that Phanpy is a sound type. Since sound-based moves are by definition pretty much exclusively special attacks and Phanpy/Donphan are physical offense specialists, are there any physical sound based moves? there would need to be at least one for Donphan's typing to really work effectively.

I suggest exploring the world carefully when you can :) You might find something or someone

I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this before, but despite me saving the game my save file won't appear causing me to have to start the game all over again.

not sure if this was reported but trying to collect a ball by an apricorn craftsman crashes the game.

Are you running the game from inside winrar or something?
