I saw a picture with gen4 legends on one side, and gen 5 legends on the other. They said that all pokemon would be available between xy-oras. There are dozens of legends, what if they're split between two games?

I think it's almost a certainty that they will be, although I doubt (read: pray) it won't be a Gen IV/Gen V split, and instead will split the two generations equally between the games - Reshiram for one, Zekrom for another, and so on. It'd be nice if all the Legendaries were available on one game, but...well, come on, it's Nintendo. Since when have they done sensible things like that in Pokemon games?

I've already decided to play Alpha Sapphire, but if it has no Gen IV Legendaries, my mind will be abruptly changed...

i'm hoping reshiram is AS exclusive. I've been trying to obtain it for so long.

What if like XY some legends will be locked to the starter you picked. Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres were not all at the same time and they were picked depening of your starter, like Fennekin giving Zapdos.

That is always my least favorite mechanic.

I think if anything it'll be the counterparts exclusive to each game (ie; Zekron in OR, Reshiram in AS) i highly doubt they'd give OR all Gen IV legends and then AS Gen V legends, seems incredibly stupid

I don't really care though since I have all legends on my copy of X, but I mean I'll sure as hell be disappointed if they give each game exclusive based on their generaton

Out of all the legendaries advertised, I only need Palkia. Hopefully Palkia is on AS, because I preordered that one.

It's the gamble we take by adopting early instead of waiting for all the poke-knowledge bases to fill up with info on version exclusives.

If you didn't notice, X & Y did something like this with some of the previous-gen fossils. The Hoenn fossils were X exclusive and the Kanto ones were Y exclusive, while Sinnoh and Unova's fossils were obtainable in both games.

So there may be a slight chance that they may do something like this again with the legendaries or even something else.

Pretty sure that's the image source, if anyone's interested.

Thanks for the leak, at least it will help decide version choice a bit better now.

For those wondering what the exclusives are, if the pic is anything to go by:
    Spoiler:

I apparently noticed OR tends to have a lot of red-colored legendary exclusives while AS has mainly blue-colored ones. The only one that seems to be the opposite is Dialga/Palkia, and while Reshiram/Zekrom aren't really red and blue, their tails do light up with red (Reshiram) and blue (Zekrom) coloring respectively. Mewtwo is also shown, but I don't know how exclusivity will play a part with it. Maybe one of its Mega Stones will be in OR and the other in AS?

But hey, it turns out Alpha Sapphire will be my main of the two versions after all since I do love a lot of blue legendaries. So I guess that seals AS as the main version for me! (I will still get both versions though, just in case)

To elaborate, that came from Pokemon Get TV.

Anyway, I'm glad I pre-ordered Alpha Sapphire, since it has Xerneas (again, assuming that it and Yveltal come back for OR/AS) and Palkia. I haven't had a chance to use Palkia much outside of that one play through in Pearl, so this could be a good opportunity to get one.

I'm kinda hoping that when I play AS, I can get a Xerneas that doesn't suck because the one I have in X turned out with 0 IVs in Special Attack and that is just horrid. But I'm still happy that it got my faves of the bunch, such as Zekrom, Kyogre and Lugia.

And while I played Pearl in the past, I gave up on it so this will be a good opportunity for me to finally use a Palkia.

Glad I take Omega Ruby, I'm missing Ho-oh and already got Lugia.

I'm missing Ho-oh too...but I already got Yvetal (Well I got a traded Xerneas but still). I was hoping for Palkia but oh well...seems the only Palkia I was destined to capture was the one in Pt...until DP remakes happen as I plan to get Pearl's when it comes out...

Now I wonder how the Third legends will work...maybe like Rayquaza did in HgSs and how Landorus worked in BW? Or maybe GF will make Delta Emerald for the third legends xD.
Btw since the Kalos legends are returning from the looks of it (I am not all the surprised as Mt. Pyre would fit Yvetal perfectly, and maybe a Team Flare got Xerneas/Yvetal from Hoenn side plot could happen) and Mewtwo I bet the birds will too...thus completing their rule over all regions minus Unova... Perhaps in AS as their master is in that game...if so I will be happy with my beast trio in OR.

I'll be happy if Lugia is indeed in AS, definitely one of my favourites. Was hoping for Reshiram as well, but I'll probably be buying OR as a second game anyways so no big deal.

I'm still also hoping the beast trio will make an appearance in ORAS... maybe the same way the birds were available in X/Y (based on your starter choice). Wouldn't be the best method... but at least they would be present.

Actually the Beast trio had that kind of method in FrLg...would be interesting to see it happen again...it has been 10 years since FrLg. Actually I can't help but feel that GF putting all the non-event legends into OrAs is actually a tribute to FrLg somehow...aka a tribute the franchise as a whole due to that pair being the remakes of the originals (RG).
If the bird trio comes back these games will share something else with HgSs...having the bird trio even though the game(s in this case) had them...and it'll mean the birds have appeared in all the remakes thus far...along with Mewtwo...Kanto is the only thing that needs to appear now...

I'm almost sure Xerneas and Yveltal, and possibly Mewtwo, will NOT be in ORAS. The picture shows X and Y as well as ORAS, so it could just mean all the ubers that are collectively in all games announced so far. Zygarde, Rayquaza and Giratina are absent, though we all know Rayquaza will be in ORAS. Then again, Xerneas and Yveltal are on the side of their opposite games, which could mean something.

If past remakes are anything to go by, then the remakes tend not to feature the ubers released in their generation. FRLG didn't have Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza, and HGSS had all three but only unlockable by event, and you could choose only one. Considering GF loves trading, it would be against their mindset to feature Xerneas and Yveltal in ORAS, effectively rendering X and Y useless.

I do believe the list is accurate, though, because to the left are all the legendaries that appear in the "first" versions (Ho-Oh, Groudon, Dialga and Reshiram) and to the right, the ones that appear in the "second" versions (Lugia, Kyogre, Palkia and Zekrom), which is consistent with OR being the first version and AS the second.

I will still need Xerneas but I will have 2 Yveltal so I will be able to trade for it.

ORAS seem to be improving on what the other remakes did, like the dex for example. Kanto lacked cross generational evolutions of it's mons, while HGSS had some but not others, and ORAS has all of it's cross generational evolutions in the dex. So perhaps GF are doing that with the mascots, with FRLG lacking them, HGSS having them but by event, and ORAS could end up having them without the need for an event.
Anyways ORAS have already rendered XY obsolete anyways...but it is dumb to put the legends in ORAS though, as it'll mean less sales of XY. Also all these legends overall make the chances of Z happening almost as low as Delta Emerald happening (or how Hoenn remakes practically hit 0 percent chance of happening in Gen V after a lot of it's legends appeared in B2W2).
