[VOTING] Shipping Debates Easter Contest (Art Division)

Well guys, lots of great entries, I like the way everybody could apply creativity to the matters of relationships and Easter. The majority of entries were art entries, and I feel it is fair to let the public vote on these entries.

Simple rules: You may vote for yourself, and please be as unbiased to certain ships as possible. Instead, vote based on the quality of the art and how well it integrates with the contestant's theme and Easter. I will not place a vote. Instead, I will place critique and outlook. There will be no tie-breaker and multiples of the same emblems per position will be awarded if necessary.

As for the fan-fiction entries, there were only two, and Fan-fictions aren't something everyone is willing to read, vote, and CC. But I feel confident enough to properly judge and CC here by myself.

Theme - Easter (general, encompasses a lot of the others, i.e. bunnies and candy)
Shipping - (Special) Red x Yellow

Simple and cute. Great rendering on the skin tones. Great Chibi faces. Although, pickier inspection shows a few proportion flaws with the limbs. Red's legs also feel kind of awkward in placement. Still, very well drawn and done.

Zayin
Shipping: Jessie x James
Theme: Offering a stolen egg!

Now ain't this a damned cruelty act XD. Very creative and funny concept of a theme you decided to show. Something Team Rocket would do. Very detailed. Well done background. Just great work.

Theme: Taking care of an egg.

Not bad. Simple concept, and simple drawing style. What's burning my eyes is Dawn's skirt color >__>. And besides that, a lot of the shading feels awkward. Good job, but it could use a little more work with coloring if not overall.

I like the way you're doing the coloring. However, if I'm getting this correctly, Dent is trying to restrain Ash from eating too much candy? XD Alright, creative enough. But the way you're drawing them doesn't seem to fit that theme. The emotion in Ash's face feels awkward with what you are trying to portray. The art style you do feels unique and has potential, of which clearly you are showing. Work on the faces a little bit. I know you'll make great additions to the CafeMochaShipping communities.

Very nice and simple. I like your drawing style and your mood here. What immediately disturbed me, however, was Misty's right knee. You royally screwed up there XD It might just be me, but that was the first thing I noticed. You should consider doing some sort of comic/manga, since that's what I see the drawing style could be perfect for.

Beautiful quality. Very radiant mood. The colors feel soft and perfect. Does get into the spirit of Easter as could be felt by someone like Ash. Next to flawless. However, it might just be me, but something could have been done with that very large space you have for the sky. Very likely to place. Great job.

Well, it's given that it looks like your only resources were pencils and color pencils. But you need quite a bit more effort to get your shapes a bit more right and realistic. Mouths are obviously off whack. Pikachu's ears I simply cannot buy. And there isn't any perspective, just a half executed illusion of depth. However, besides the blue background, I like how well the colors seem to be and just fit.

For me, it was a tough choice between Zayin and CommanderPigg, but I ended up voting for Zayin for some reason. Yeah. Some reason idek. ^^''

I have to agree that Zayin's really stands out. I really love what was done with the background since I've always struggled with them. The characters, emotions, everything. It's all so detailed and it turned out amazing.

I think CommanderPigg's is definitely a close second though. It was the funniest there by far. Lily's linework is nice and smooth compared to mine too. Everyone did a great job but my vote is for Zayin.

Thanks for that. ^^ The theme just seemed to fit really well. I might consider writing a comic/manga of some sort actually once I get some time. Thanks for that idea.

And lol, yes. Misty's legs both turned out awful. I was sort of experimenting with a lot of the drawing but as you can see, some particular details didn't work out as well as I'd hoped.

I think I'll stick with AMV making but I can tell that Zayin going to win since the artwork is very nicely done. I figured out how to fix my shading so now seeing my pic makes me think it's so old but yeah I liked Lily, Zayin and Commanderpigg art work.

Thanks Piggie ^^. I like yours a lot too. It's so bright and peaceful looking.

I also tend to screw up the backgrounds because I rarely know how to position my characters. I always feel like they float into it. Not the case in this entry though.

Team Rocket is always win though I don't ship the two of them. And the art is just spectacular, great concept too!

I'm voting for Lily. I don't tend to be a fan of the more chibi-like depictions of characters, but it was cute. I also did like Zayin's, but Lily's just felt more natural to me.
