Welcome to the newly created and very anticipated extension of PokeTrivia's VPP! This was originally invented by The Elite Ygseto & Omis, then made into the VPP that PC knows today by Caite-chan. Here you are able to obtain Pokémon and raise them alongside your post count as you post on the forums! The process is extremely simple, just ask for a Pokémon, wait for one of the approved team members to respond, and start raising your very own Virtual Pokémon Pet! Once you're done with your VPP, you can raise another one, trade it, or even put it towards earning a legendary Pokémon!
GENERAL POKECOMMUNITY RULES
★ Community wide rules apply. That means no porn or graphic images, no advertising, and no linking to illegal/suspicious content. Common sense should guide your actions. If you need a refresher course, please read the global rules.
★ Don't spam. Spamming just to increase your post account is against the community rules. Raising Virtual Pokémon isn't a race, so have fun and try to make your posts meaningful! This is your chance to integrate with the community and post somewhere new!
VPP SPECIFIC RULES
★ No cheating.
★ You need to have 10 posts to request your first VPP.
★ Only one Trainer Stats thread per Trainer, but you can make as many posts as you want in your thread.
★ Requests for Pokémon should only be made in this thread.
★ You must finish a VPP before you claim a new one - unless you're doing a tag-team.
★ You are responsible for updating your Trainer Stats when you obtain a new VPP, and for keeping track of your items and points.
★ You are not allowed to calculate your own VPPs.
★ You are responsible for asking for medals, ribbons or other rewards you may be eligible for.
★ You cannot retroactively get free VPPs based on your current post count. We will not backdate post counts under any circumstances.
★ Do not harass any VPP staff, we will get to your post as soon as we can!
★ If there is any problem, don't hesitate to contact a current VPP moderator! -

I have my first VPP egg. What do I do with it???
Once you have your egg, you can begin raising your new Virtual Pet! As you post on the PokéCommunity forums, your VPP will hatch and grow alongside your post count, simple! You keep track of your post count yourself, and once your VPP has reached Lv. 100, you can mark it as finished in your stats thread and return to the Obtain Your Pokémon thread to request a new one! Your points for raising that Pokémon will also be eligible to spend from then on.
Got it! What else should I do?
You'll need to create your very own Breeder Stats thread! When you receive your VPP, you should keep a record of the information we give you along with it. You can format it however you like, but be sure to keep a note of all the important things, such as when it was received and finished, what challenges or legendaries the Pokémon has been used towards, how many points you have, and any items you might have bought along the way!

So, we've got you interested! Good! Here we will explain how to get FREE VPPS. You must request any of these Pokémon by yourself, we won't go looking for people that are eligible!

* Because the Posting Milestone system is new, you are entitled to one free VPP for the post bracket you fall into and ONLY that bracket. You cannot retroactively collect 4 VPPs for having 15k posts. If you have 3,588 posts, you fall into the [1,250 - 5,000] bracket and can claim one free VPP* -
All Pokémon types are associated with a season of the year. Pokémon will get a discount of -15 posts if raised during their assigned season! If a Pokémon is dual type, then it qualifies for the discount if EITHER typing is currently in season.
Dual type Pokémon do NOT count for a double discount however. For example - Pyroar (Fire/Normal) can be considered either a Summer or Winter Seasonal Pokémon for -15 posts, but Vikavolt (Bug/Electric) cannot be counted as -30 posts for its dual typing being seasonal in Summer. Nearly every Pokémon qualifies for the seasonal discount, but you can find the full list at the bottom of this tab!

What VPPs Apply for Seasonal Discounts?
- Regular Pokémon
- Mega Pokémon
- G-Max Pokémon
- Terastal Pokémon that match the above, only if it qualified before Terastallization.
- Alpha Pokémon
- Ultra Beast Pokémon
- Legendary Pokémon
- Tag-Team Pokémon that match the above, but only if BOTH partners qualify for the seasonal discount! -
After you raise several VPPs, rare Pokémon will become available for you to obtain. A Legendary Pokémon can be obtained as early as your 4th VPP if you have the necessary types!
You will need three DIFFERENT Pokémon to put towards gaining your desired Legendary. For example, if you have Pichu, Elekid, and Comfey (2 Electric and 1 Fairy), you qualify to raise a Tapu Koko! If you have Larvesta, Abra, and Torchic (2 Fire and 1 Psychic), you could raise Victini!
A full list of Legendary Pokémon, and their requirements, are posted further below.
You will need keep a record of what Legendary you have put your VPP towards in your stats.

Legendary Pokémon Rules:
- Legendaries take 240 posts to complete
- Legendaries can be Seasonal and may also be raised as a Tag-Team if BOTH partners meet the requirements
- In order to raise a Legendary Pokémon, you must raise other Pokémon first. Each Legendary has a unique set of 3 type requirements that must be fulfilled in order to obtain it.
- You will need to complete 10 non-legendary Pokémon between every legendary you raise. This includes Mega/GMax Legendary forms. The only exception is your 1st Legendary & Arceus.
- For Ultra Beast the same restrictions apply, but Ultra Beasts require 250 posts to complete
- Ultra Beasts also require that one of the Pokémon put forth to claim it is a Legendary
ARCEUS: After completing normal Arceus, you unlock the option to get its different type versions. Every one of those requires you to buy the respective plate from the Mart. Regular Arceus DOES NOT require the user to own a Plate. Arceus will then need 2 Normal and 1 Type Pokémon + the Type Plate (or 3 Normal + Legend Plate, in case you wish further Normal type Arceus). You DO NOT need to wait 10 Pokémon to do Type Arceus. Arceus does not apply for Seasonal, Club, or Tag-Team discounts.

It's time to work with your fellow Pokémon Trainers to raise a Pokémon together. This will be a once in a while type event. Keep an eye on the Events tab for the next one!
How does it work? Well everyone will nominate one Non-Legendary / Ultra Beast Pokémon and then the VPP Team will select one of them at random for us all to raise together! Sometimes a community Pokémon will also be pre-determined by staff for certain events.
So how many posts will it take? It depends! Each event will have a base post number, let's use 1,000 posts as an example. These are divided by the amount of participants! So if 8 people sign up then it will take 125 posts each, if 10 sign up then it will cost just 100 posts each, and so on! Obviously the more people that sign up the better and the less posts we all have to make!
So what's the catch? Well... if any of us fail to finish our part then nobody will get the VPP, so please only sign up if you're reasonable confident of finishing your quota!
A Community event will usually look like the following:
VPP Staff will announce a Community Day and everyone involved will have a WEEK to post a Pokémon.
VPP Staff will then roll the dice to see which one we will raise and whether or not it will be shiny.
You will then post your current post count and we will then give you your post requirement to complete.
Once you've completed your posts, reply in the thread so we can cross you off.
Once everyone has completed their posts, you then can add the Pokémon to your stats and will be able to be used for anything in VPP.
Unless staff has explicitly stated otherwise, users cannot recommend a Legendary, Ultra Beast, Mega, GMax, Alpha, or Noble Pokémon etc.
Please note, we may hold Community events with different posting requirements depending on the occasion! -
There are certain Pokémon that have special requirements to obtain and raise. Some of these Pokémon also have their own set of mechanics that differ from regular VPPs.
› Shiny Pokémon
For nearly every Pokémon you request, we will roll a 100-sided dice and any number 25 or below will give you a shiny, so a 25% chance! If you own a Rainbow Stone, your chances of a shiny increases to a generous 35% every time!
› Master Pokémon
Once you have completed 10 full VPPs you reach "VPP Master Status". You may choose one of any Pokémon (other than a Legendary/Ultra Beast, Mega, Gigantamax, Alpha, Noble, Terastal, or a Pair/Trio) to add to your completed collection without any post requirement. These Master Pokémon do count towards the 10 VPPs between Legendary Pokémon.
For every 10 full VPPs you complete, you may obtain another Master Pokémon, so make sure you keep count! If you miss your window and complete 14 VPPs before requesting a Master, those additional 4 Pokémon DO NOT get added to your total, it will still be 10 more completed VPPs before you can claim your next one
› Birthday / Challenge / Reward Pokémon
Reward Pokémon for beating challenges, collecting medals & ribbons, celebrations or for various other activities, follow similar rules as Master Pokémon: You can choose one Pokémon (other than a Legendary/Ultra Beast, Mega, Gigantamax, Alpha, Noble, Terastal or a Pair/Trio) to add to your completed collection without any post requirement. These Pokémon also do count towards the 10 VPPs between Legendary Pokémon.
› Pokémon Forms (with different Types): Sometimes to prevent redundancy, we assign different typings to various Pokémon in an effort to incentivize users to collect them all. Different types means they can be used in different challenges and applied for different medals:
- Vivillon (Archipelago Pattern) - you replace one type with Electric
- Vivillon (Continental Pattern) - you replace one type with Rock
- Vivillon (Elegant Pattern) - you replace one type with Fairy
- Vivillon (Garden Pattern) - you replace one type with Poison
- Vivillon (High Plains Pattern) - you replace one type with Flying
- Vivillon (Icy Snow Pattern) - you replace one type with Ice
- Vivillon (Jungle Pattern) - you replace one type with Fighting
- Vivillon (Marine Pattern) - you replace one type with Ghost
- Vivillon (Meadow Pattern) - you replace one type with Grass
- Vivillon (Modern Pattern) - you replace one type with Normal
- Vivillon (Monsoon Pattern) - you replace one type with Dark
- Vivillon (Ocean Pattern) - you replace one type with Water
- Vivillon (Polar Pattern) - you replace one type with Dragon

Unown are a unique kind of Pokémon. They only require 25 posts each to complete. They come with their own special gimmick: if you raise enough Unown you can claim a free VPP by "spelling it out".
Example 1: You want a Ponyta? Ponyta has 6 letters in its name, so we simply multiply the post requirement for an Unown by the number of letters in the Pokémon's name.
25 x 6 = 150.
A non-seasonal Ponyta would be 175 posts, so you'd get a good discount!
But, for other Pokémon, it might not be worth going the Unown route to obtain them:
Example 2: Magikarp. If it's not seasonal than it will take 175 posts to finish.
25 x 8 = 200
If you try to spell it out with Unown that's 8 letters meaning 200 posts total to complete. So, that would not be worth it. It would be better to wait until Magikarp is in season or have a Club discount applied.
Keep in mind that you can use every individual Unown you raised towards a single free VPP only. If you used an Unown (A) for an Alomomola then you need to raise another Unown (A) if you want to get an Absol. Likewise, if a Pokémon's name contains a letter multiple times, you need to raise those letter Unown multiple times, as well. In order to get a free Alomomola you need two Unown (A, L, M) and three Unown (O) to spell its name fully.
Getting All Unown
There's currently a total of 28 Unown, so multiplying 28 by 25 is equals 700 posts if you go from "A" to "?". Obtaining them all means completing the Unown challenge, medal requirements, and adding Pokemon to your collection!
You cannot use Unown to:
- Speedrun a Master Challenge (10 VPPs)
- Obtain Legendary Pokémon
- Obtain GMax Pokémon
- Obtain Mega Pokémon
- Obtain Alpha Pokémon
- Obtain Noble Pokémon
- Obtain Terastal Pokémon
- Obtain Pairs & Tros
- Obtain Fully Evolved Pokémon
- To complete the "Gone Mental Challenge" (requires 6 Psychic Types)
They do NOT apply for:
- Seasonal discounts
- Tag-Teams
- Club discounts
You do not get any additional perks for obtaining them "in order". Any organization of Unown is fine as long as you collect them all eventually, or specifically spell out a Pokémon

To obtain a Mega Pokémon, you will need to buy a Mega Ring and the appropriate Mega Stone for the Pokémon you'd like to raise. They will take 200 posts to complete, unless they qualify for any discounts such as Seasonal etc.
You cannot retroactively use a Mega Stone on an existing Pokémon. Your completed Venusaur will not become a Mega Venusaur if you buy a Venusaurite. You will have to raise another Bulbasaur with the intention of Mega Evolving it.

Primal Kyogre & Groudon:
The Legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon aren't like the other Mega Evolutions. They gain Primal Reversion forms, accessible when holding the correct Reversion Orb. You can purchase the Orbs at the Mart other Mega Stones.

Mega Rayquaza:
Mega Rayquaza is a very special Pokemon. You are required to have BOTH Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon completed to obtain it. -
You will need to buy a Gigantamax Band to unlock the ability to request GMax Pokémon. You will also need a Gigantamax Candy, which is a consumable item used for every GMax Pokémon you raise. Gigantamax Pokémon take 225 posts to complete, unless they qualify for any discounts such as Seasonal etc.
Like Mega Pokémon, Gigantamax Pokémon will be considered a different Pokémon. You can't use a GMax Candy retroactively on Pokémon you've already completed.
GMax Pokémon apply for Tag-Teams, Seasonal discounts, and Club discounts.

To obtain a Terastal Pokémon, you will need to buy a Tera Orb. They will take 200 posts to complete, unless they qualify for any discounts such as Seasonal, Club, etc.
A Terastal Pokémon gain an extra type, so, for example, Tera Ice Pikachu is treated as an Electric / Ice Pokémon for the purposes of Legendaries, Medals, Challenges, etc.
You can pick any Tera Type as long as it is not Bird and the Pokémon you're trying to Terastallize isn't a reward for an event, challenge, wasn't obtained via Pair / Trio and isn't Unown. You also cannot retroactively Terastallize Pokémon you already have.
Terastal Pokémon may only qualifiy for a type based discount (such as the Seasonal discount or the Club discount) if they already had that type before the Tera Type. Having that type as the Tera type also may not give a "double discount". -
Some Pokémon can be raised in predefined pairs or trios. A pair of Pokémon takes 300 posts to complete, while a trio will need 450 posts.
Each Pokémon in a pair/trio can be used separately towards requirements, challenges, medals, etc, just as with normal Pokémon.
Some pairs/trios require you to use an existing VPP to obtain them, in much the same way legendaries do.
Pairs and Trios cannot be shiny.
Pairs/Trios don't qualify for tag-teams or for seasonal and club discounts.

Alongside raising your own VPPs, you can raise another Pokémon with a partner as part of a tag-team!
All you need to do is find a teammate, then decide on a Pokémon to raise together! BOTH tag-team members will need to finish their post requirement before the Pokémon can be considered complete. Once you have finished your part, let us know in the in the DCC Thread. You will then have to wait for your partner to finish their half, if they haven't already.
If an Event is taking place then Event rules supersede normal Tag Team rules regarding amount of posts to complete etc. Both partners require a Rainbow Stone to have an increased chance of a shiny as a Tag-Team. Both partners will also need to have all items, and have fulfilled all requirements, necessary to raise the Pokémon.
Pokémon that otherwise qualify for seasonal or club discounts will also receive the discount with tag-teams, but only if both partners are eligible. These do not stack and cannot be used at the same time.
Each partner must fill out this form, and post it in the obtain thread. VPP staff will then action your request.

Inactivity Clause
If your partner has not posted for four weeks and you have already finished your half then you can make an inactive partner request. In this request please provide a link to your finishing post, as well. Once approved, you will be able to consider your tag-team Pokémon complete and can then use it towards requirements. You will also be able to start another tag-team if desired. The inactive partner will still be liable to finish their half if they return before they can consider it complete.

Alpha Pokémon are required to obtain a Noble Pokémon. You can obtain them by purchasing a permanent, reusable upgrade in the Mart: the "Alpha Voucher". Simply ask for your VPP to be Alpha and the staff will give you the information as normal.
- Regular Alphas are worth 90 points and require 200 posts.
- Seasonal Alphas are worth 90 points and require 185 posts.
- Club Alphas are worth 90 points and require 170 posts.
- Tag-Team Alphas are worth 90 points and require 180 posts.
- Tag-Team & Seasonal Alphas are worth 90 points and require 165 posts.
Noble Pokémon
Because of their rarity, Noble Pokémon have a special set of requirements before you can obtain one. Each Noble Pokémon will require you to raise 6 Alpha Pokémon from their allocated list of Alpha Pokémon below. Once you can prove you've raised 6 Alpha Pokémon - you are able to obtain your Noble Pokémon for FREE + 100 points.
If you raise an Alpha Gyarados, that would still count for Kleavor, because you technically raised an Alpha Magikarp.
Every completed Alpha counts towards a Noble only once.

Frequently Asked Questions #1
Q: I'm still confused, how does this work?
A: Ask for a VPP, raise the VPP by posting, complete the VPP by reaching the post requirement, and repeat! You are not required to participate in the more complex aspects of this game. This is about having fun and can be as simple or complicated as you want!
Q: Can my VPP be shiny / have special coloring?
A: Most VPPs you receive have a chance of being shiny! There are also other ways of receiving them such as special events!
Q: Does my VPP have to be shiny if I don't want it to be?
A: Of course not! Just let us know you don't want a shiny when you request the Pokémon
Q: Noble Electrode and Noble Arcanine both require an Alpha Mothim, can I use it for both?
A: No. Out of the list of 5 Noble Pokémon, there is some crossover with the Alpha Pokémon used to obtain them. However, you cannot use 1 Alpha to apply for 2 Nobles. You can, however, obtain 2 Alpha Mothim and use them for the purpose of getting Noble Electrode and Noble Arcanine respectively.
