1st Gen Vulpix's Attack Continues!

Back in generation I, trapping moves were very broken. If you use a move like Fire Spin, Bind, or Wrap, the Pokémon trapped cannot attack at all. I honestly found this to be a fun thing about broken generation I. I've always wanted to use this tactic myself, if I were ever able to get far in a generation I game, lmfao.

What are some of the broken stuff in Generation I you personally enjoyed, or on the opposite, didn't enjoy?
 
If you have burn or poison and then the enemy uses a trapping move on you, you take the burn/poison damage twice in one turn, on top of the trapping damage. Not a very well-programmed mechanic, and fundamentally broken, too. Waking up from sleep but being unable to attack is similarly unbalanced.

Honestly, a lot of gen 1 mechanics were either programmed poorly or not well-thought-out. I mean, on top of all the glitches, the special stat exists.
 
In my recent Blue playthrough, I went with anything that can abuse broken mechanics in Gen1, including a Ninetales with fire spin. Unfortunately, what I quickly found out was that against the AI, fire spin offers very little tactical value and you're better off just blasting things with flamethrower.
 
toxic and leech seed combo is broken too, for you bulbasaur fans. something abt using them both increases the leech seed damage/hp absorbed as well so yeah. i definitely use the multi hit moves to my advantage when replaying gen I as well. like it fucking sucks that they're broken like that when it comes down to it fundamentally, but hey, if the game is broken and it's still something i can use to my advantage, then game, set, and match. i'm doing it.
 
Oh yeah, the paralysis and wrap combo was a really broken thing. Sleeping was also a really broken mechanic back then too, because you couldn't attack right after you woke up, and so if they were faster, they can send you right back asleep the next turn. Urgh.
 
Another thing that was broken was that enemy trainer's Pokemon moves never ran out of PP. Honestly, imagine being in a situation where a battle were never able to end because of a certain situation.
 
Psychic types in general were just unbeatable.

Weak to ghost, which the only ones were the Gengar family, who also had a poison type functioning as a weakness.

Weak to bug, and the only ones I can think of are Butterfree, Beedrill, (Part Poison) Scyther, Parascect, and Venomoth. None of those are touching Mewtwo, and I don't even think a powerful bug move existed.
