Lydia could hear the sounds from the door. Vibrations from the ground told her it was a pokemon, but she wasn't sure. She couldn't move, nor could she see. The poor Zorua was having trouble even communicating, to the human, yet alone the unknown pokemon also in the room. Lydia was positive the pokemon was about to attack her new friend, just as she almost had. She gathered her strength and managed to blather out a few words.

"D-don't...attack" she tried crying out, but her voice was so tiny the Zorua had no idea if her demand had even be heard.

Could the human protect himself if she couldn't?

"What in the bane of Arceus do you think you are?? Trying to cause rife amongst Pokemon? Well, I'm sorry we're brothers in arms unlike you human dirt that war against each other, for what? For lust and money!!" The little Vanillite sure had a voice.

Jack was then hit by a chunk of ice. He cried out, "That Weavile was stronger than you even when it was shot."

"If you dare to lie, I'll frost you to a cold crispy nacho."

"You think I'm lying? Check the paper. Sweetheart, if you think Pokemon are that innocent, you need to wake up." Jack said calmly.

"That Weavile was stronger than you even when it was shot." Well, he ai't the one interrogating you, imp!

"You think I'm lying? Check the paper. Sweetheart, if you think Pokemon are that innocent, you need to wake up."

"Well, if you think Jubilife is so defended, let me tell YOU that your people are going down. And I have proof, I was just wondering such a leader like you would even care about that ruined city. Well, I'm not surprised at your negligence. If I were you, I'll just covered Jubilife in a blizzard and rename it to Jubideath. Heheheh..."

Luke made a layer of frost on the ropes that bound his victim. He then proceeded to lift a bucket of cold water above the human Jack.

"Wahahahahahahaha! Do you think we wouldn't have known about that? There's already a huge army on the way there!"

The Vanillite then froze his ropes and poured a bucket of cold water on his head.

Jack shivered, but refused to lay down.

"Don't try to ignore the question, little Vanillite. I know you suspect Khufu. If you want, I'll stay down here, but you need to check that paper, if you value the life of your Commander." He said.

Ali looked up at the abandoned school and sighed. All those young trainers being betrayed, some even killed, by their trusted partners. The thought chilled him to the bone. A young man hurried by with a suitcase, nodding to Ali as he went. Ali nodded back, glad that the news of the urgent evacuation was spreading. He had told anyone who would listen that it was a brilliant time for a spontaneous holiday, and even offered some a the services of the Air Force for a quick getaway. He was bored of waiting now, and his thoughts of the civilians were eating him up.
Just as he began to wonder if any Pokemon were going to turn up, his radio crackled into life, and the muffled voice of Althalos penetrated the still air.

"The Umbreon has been spotted on top of the Poketch tower. There are currently a few soldiers on the roof already. I'll tranquilize him from my position, Althalos out."
The message had been sent to all troops in action, and so Ali didn't reply. Instead, he slowly walked towards Poketch, his gun at the ready. He wouldn't put it past Khufu to attempt an ambush, and he wasn't about to get outsmarted.

"The Umbreon has been neutralized and the previously mentioned jar heads are bringing him down to you right now." Althalos said, this time only to Ali. Man, that had been fast.
"Great job, Althalos. I'll be there in five."

He walked to the building, and waited at its foot until the men appeared. Sure enough, they were carrying an unconscious shiny Umbreon. Its fur was just like the one that had been seen at every crime scene at the base.
Ali approached the Pokemon cautiously, gun raised. He ran his fingers through the all-too-familiar fur, tilting its head to check its eyes for consciousness.

"Well done men. What Squad are you from?"

"Uhh..." Came the reply. Wow, they were jarheads. "We're with Lieutenant Chapman."

"Okay, so you're on the outskirts. Take the prisoner to Chapman, and tell him to guard it with his best men, you hear me? This one isn't to escape again."

"Yes sir."

"We want it alive, but the Umbreon needn't know that."

"Yes sir."

"Well, what are you waiting for? Get going."

"Yes sir."

The men walked off, and Ali was happy that at least one thing had gone his way today. With a slightly elevated feeling of hope, he went back to patrolling the streets.

"D-don't... attack." Silence almost didn't hear the faint cry from the Zorua. She blinked and stared at Lydia in surprise than growled and let the dark glow fade from her claws. Lydia was a spy and therefore higher ranked than the Weavile. If she thought the man was to be trusted, Silence was going to have to live with it, even if she did want to cut him to pieces. Still, she wasn't about to trust him with the PR general and a one of their spies so she determined she would follow him until she was sure the two pokemon he was holding would be safe.

I saw the Weavile withdraw her claws, still looking like she'd mince me if she has the chance. I shivered at the thought. I continued on my way, eventually finding a kit with a hyper potion ans some bandages. I put the Flareon and Zorua down. Well, there's only enough Hyper Potion for one Pokemon. I decided to use it on the Flareon, the apparently more badly injured. Apparently I was in good luck, because there was enough to use on the Zorua as a disinfectant. OK, remember what they taught you in first aid... I sprayed the Hyper Potion on the Zorua as a disinfectant. That should keep it safe from infection. Then I applied the Bandages around her. When I was don, she looked like a hospital patient. I was always a bit jealous about how a Center could heal injured Pokemon in seconds while we humans had to spend a few day or weeks in a hospital. Well anyway, after a few moments the Flareon should be stabilized and the Zorua should be up and able to walk in a few minutes. I felt a little proud of myself for helping these two. Potential enemies turned potential allies. Maybe things were getting better after all...

Her bleeding was slowing down due to the bandages around her side. Lydia began to cool down, her breathes becoming more deep and stable. Still, the little pokemon was too exhausted to move. Well, she could, but she was lazy.

"Heheh, sorry I kept you from a battle Silence." she giggled out, hoping she didn't offend the Weavile with her comment.

"What should we do with the human?" she asked the member. This time she was using telepathy so Jeff couldn't hear their conversation. Lydia didn't know what to do with him. Though it might not have been justified to take him as prisoner, what use would a human be in the Poke'Rebel Base? Then again, what side was he on anyways? Maybe she was being too trustworthy of him? Too many questions.

She laid her head down and curled up as the Flareon beside her began healing. It soothed her to know pain was being relieved from her dear General.

"Sorry I kept you from a battle, Silence," Lydia giggled. "What should we do with the human?" The Zorua was using telepathy now, probably so the human wouldn't hear.

"If it was up to me, I'd kill him," She thought, hoping the Lydia could hear her thoughts or something seeing as she couldn't use telepathy, than added reluctantly, "but I guess he doesn't really deserve that after helping you and the general. I don't really care what happens to him as long as he doesn't cause any trouble for us. Unless you have another idea, I suggest we let the commander decide what to do with him. If you tell him that the human helped you, I'm sure he'll show some mercy.

"Wahahahahahahaha! Do you think we wouldn't have known about that? There's already a huge army on the way there!"

"Just to let you know, Jubilife has several weakpoints, in my honest opinion. According to the structure of the city, a week-long ambush would set its inhabitants off plus with a tight curfew caused by us Pokemon, we'll disrupt living there AND since we come with an artillery to smash, we could even blaze the whole city." The Vanillite took a deep breath before lecturing on, "I'd assume a cretin like you wuoldn't understand a thing I say. Your border defense sucks, and no army is gonna back it up. Unless you get your buildings right." To press his point, Luke casted a cloud of mist in the air and shaped it into a map of the city.

"Look there, an easy distraction or a smoke bomb can reveal this to be the best refuge for external forces. Plus the alleys behind the TV centre provides a shield for our local troops of chemical warfare, and you nincompoops won't even tell. From the north, lies the Wayward Cavern, if the citizens were to be driven out, they can't escape without getting lost or mutineered in that maze. Cutting of reinforcements is a doable feat, just use a Whirlwind or a short Signal Beam would work and down your electricity goes. Poliwhirls and Simipours are excellent flooders, we can clog those drains before you could recite my great-grand aunt's full name. Trust me, it's quite a mouthful." Luke snorted, faking sheepishness as he stealthily decreased the room's temperature to lower than -100.

The windows started to be layered with ice cracks and foggy watermarks appeared over the glass. "Don't try to ignore the question, little Vanillite. I know you suspect Khufu. If you want, I'll stay down here, but you need to check that paper, if you value the life of your Commander."

Coldly, the Vanillite countered, "What I'm more worry about is that humans can try to sabotage and create strife amongst Pokemon to weaken our unity in strength." Trying a different style, Luke floated up to the ceiling whilst looking down on Jack.

"In medieval times, captives from enemy states would be tortured till they spill like MooMoo Milk. A unique stratagem in which Pokemon have learnt for our benefits, is the Water Dripping method. Luke started to encased his victim in a rigid slab of ice, like a coffin and then caused it to lie flat in suspension. Using the same bucket, he carved out a small hole to allow only a drop of cold water to flow out every second. He then drifted it right above Jack's forehead and let it run. Luke then started on his interrogation.

"Now, tell me. Are you just a one-man-band or do you love humans as comrades?"

The little Vanillite went on lecturing him about Jubilife's weak points.

"Tell me, are you actually this stupid that you are telling me about your strategy? Really dumb. Anyways, looking at your size, I just know that your brain is probably the size of a pea." Jack said.

The Vanillite then said, "What I'm more worry about is that humans can try to sabotage and create strife amongst Pokemon to weaken our unity in strength."

Jack sighed and said, "Really, blame yourself when Hector there has a bullet in his head himself."

The Vanillite froze him again, and Jack thought, "Well, I've been frozen enough times today already."

But Jack then felt something, or rather, didn't feel something, and that was his right arm. "Wha-what's going on?! I can't feel my hand!" He thought. That's when it struck him, his hand was frostbitten. It had to be cut off.

Jack let out a scream so loud, it echoed down the hallways of the PR Base.

"Now, tell me. Are you just a one-man-band or do you love humans as comrades?"

"I love humans as comrades, unlike you...freaks...." He said, before passing out.

A group of soldiers approached Richard with the passed out Umbreon in hand. Richard pulled his cigarette out of his mouth and blew the smoke into the younger mans face. "Gimme 'dat thing!" Richard ordered and grabbed the black pokemon from the hands of the soldier and plucked the dart out of his leg. He tossed the pokemon to the black top street and kicked it, waking him up from the sedative. While he was still weak he grabbed a rope from a nearby pile of crates and tied up the Umbreon nice and tight. "You got a lot of nerve, comin' here, boy!" Richard laughed at the pokemon, struggling now to get out of the ropes that were completely wrapped around him so that he looked like a mummy other than his head. Richard gave him a once over than extinguished his cigarette on the pokemon's cheek, leaving a patch of smoldering fur and blackened skin. "Now, if you'd kindly tell me, when in the hell is your army gonna get here, why the hell you came here," Richard thought for a moment, "and what kind of f***ing information do you want?" Richard asked, and before the pokemon could even open his mouth, he slapped the pokemon clean across the face. "And I suggest you hurry it up, because my pistol, Ol' Bessy, ain't been used in a while, and I'm itchin' to kill somethin'."

Where am I?

In his unconsciousness, Wade could feel himself being tossed and thrown around like he was a little teddy bear. When he was about to come to his senses, he tried moving his hands, but when he opened his eyes, he saw himself all tied up. Wade struggled, but he couldn't, since he was tied by a large number of ropes, starting from neck down. He tried to nibble through the rope with his teeth, and succeeded with the nearest one, but there were too many ropes, and he couldn't break through all of them.

He was busy biting the ropes, he didn't realize a soldier pressing his cig butt onto his face, leaving a large and painful burning mark. Wade turned and scowled at the soldier, his paws and legs still unable to move.

"Now, if you'd kindly tell me, when in the hell is your army gonna get here, why the hell you came here," the Soldier said in a demanding tone.

"The time of the army's arrival is not my concern." Wade answered, his eyes narrowing. He was half lying, but somehow it was also true, since he didn't get to ask anybody about their arrival, "As for what I want?" Wade shook his head in a pitiful manner, "It's what You want, you son of a bit*h soldier. I don't want anything. I have nothing to lose."

He stared at the soldier with cold eyes. He knew he was going to be shot if he kept this up. If I gotta tell them the secrets of the PR, I'd rather die.

Khufu wasn't aware of anything going on around him, but now he felt a light spray on his shoulders, which started to twitch and shake as he returned to the world. He could hear voices faintly, and gradually they became louder and more distinct.

"Ohhh, yeah, that feels good," said Khufu as the spray sprinkled his face. A sharp, familiar smell lingered after the spray had moved to his back and he guessed it was a Potion of some kind. Considering how good he felt, it most likely was a Hyper Potion. Glancing down at his wounded chest, he saw the gashes quickly disappear, and though some stinging remained, almost all of the pain was gone.

Khufu looked up at his rescuers, and nodded at Silence and Lydia, the second of whom was currently being sprayed with the Hyper Potion to keep her cuts clean of infection. Twisting his neck back, he saw the human bending down to wrap Lydia in bandages and his eyes darkened with confusion. Why would the enemy be helping us? Most humans would have just killed me on the spot. I guess he's not like most of them, but I'm not sure to trust him.

His ears pricked up as he thought he heard reverberating voices in his head. Khufu had always had the uncanny ability to predict the future somewhat, and to guess others' thoughts correctly, but he had assumed it was his logical mind at work. Tuning in closely to the voices, he recognized them easily as Silence and Lydia, and their words seemed to express what was going on in Khufu's head at the same time. Focusing hard on his thoughts, Khufu tried something he never had done before...

I'm sure the commander will listen. A human caught helping the enemy would be at a great risk, knowing that this is war.

"Nothing to lose eh? How about your life?" Richard laughed, and then kicked the pokemon again. "How about this, what information were you looking 'fer when you came to our HQ?" Richard took out another cigarette and lit it, puffing smoke into the Umbreons face. "Now, you listen here boy, I'm hungry, and if you don't answer me correctly, I will kill you and I will eat you, no matter how gross you are, just because it's dishonorable to you," He puffed more smoke into the pokemons face, making him cough. "besides, I've heard that Umbreon have some pretty tender meat." Another soldier called out to Richard and distracted him for a moment. When he turned back, he looked the pokemon in the eye , with an even colder stare, which made the pokemon visibly shake. "I'll be right back." Richard glared at the pokemon, got up and started to walk away.

"Its settled then. We'll escort him to the Commander. Hopefully Hector won't set him on fire the instant he sees him".

Lydia truly wondered what the Commander would think of him. Let alone think of them, letting a human infiltrate the base so easily.

She switched her focus to the man who had finished with her bandages, smiling, yet giving a deceiving glare at him. Her mind power cut from the pokemon, and became intact with the human.

"We are taking you to the Commander's Office. Don't worry, you'll be taken care of there. By the way, what name should we address you by?"

Oh ****. I'm so dead. I tried to hide my stress from this whole situation but I'm pretty sure some of it went through. I help someone and this is the thanks I get? Murder? Compose yourself, Jeff. Maybe they'll just throw you in prison. I honestly hoped that would be the case, because I didn't want to be killed just for helping a Pokemon. Who is the Commander anyway? Whoever he was, I'm pretty sure he hates humanity, because he's probably the one who ordered the uprising and mass murder of the thousands of Canalave City's residents. Please don't let my life end like this. What? Oh right, my name.

"My name is Jeff Bennings."

"Ok then, Jeff. Just follow me."

It was pretty obvious 'Jeff' was worried. Who could blame him? He was probably the only human here in the Poke'Rebel Base, and was surrounded. It didn't help that there was a war going on. He'd have to get use to it.

Lydia signaled for the two, and pushed open the half-broken door. She was ready to lead them to the office, but she stopped. Uh...where was the office? The Zorua felt like slapping herself. She must have looked so dumb just standing there.

"Sorry, but uh...wheres the offi-"

Her voice was interrupted by a scream. The sound echoed in the building, and Lydia easily pin-pointed where it had came from.

"Nevermind"

Personally, Silence thought that would be wonderful but she didn't say anything and just nodded. She followed behind the man as Lydia took the lead. The Zorua paused, looking embarrassed. "Sorry, but uh...wheres the offi-" She stopped when they heard a scream and said, "Nevermind."

Silence smiled a bit. 'Sounds like Jack is having a good time,' she thought.

"besides, I've heard that Umbreon have some pretty tender meat." Richard said and Wade growled, trying his best to hide his anger. Eating Pokemon...disgusting!

"I'll be right back." He stared at Wade with his eyes, his petrifying gaze causing the Shiny umbreon to shiver a little. Then he got up and Wade saw his chance. As Richard turned around, Wade nibbled the rope like a rat, and the top rope was broken now. Richard turned back at him to see if he was doing anything, and Wade showed him an innocent face, hiding his smirk. When Richard started walking away, Wade bit through the last rope and growled, wriggling away from the ropes and his eyes narrowed like an eagle spotting its prey.

"Human meat is just as tender." Wade growled, his eyes full of hatred as he pounced onto Richard, forcing Richard to fall onto the ground, head first. Wade then unleashed a couple of slashes and a faint attack at his neck, making him unconscious. Then Wade's eyes glowed as he opened his mouth, revealing his fangs, and like a vampire, he bit into Richard's neck. Richard twitched as he was bitten, but after the bite, he was silent and lifeless.

The soldier next to him screamed and ran, but Wade wasn't going to let him escape. He disappeared in a flash with Faint Attack and appeared right before the soldier, tripping his leg. The soldier tripped and fell down, his head smashing onto a large jagged rock in front of him, and the rest wasn't pretty.

Wade scanned the area around him and found himself at the outskirts of town.

"When is the PR army arriving?!" Wade murmured, brushing the ashes off his face made by Richard's sig, then he looked at the city. Without a second thought he rushed towards Jubilife city once again. He wasn't going to miss this fight, oh no, he wasn't.
