ShiningStar was speechless. Had AngelDust really just said that? She must feel really embaressed now. He thought, I should find her. He decided, already bringing up a list of places she could be. He stood up and walked out of his den. His gaze drifted over the camp to make sure AngelDust wasn't there. Then he spotted her by the tree stump, where she counted the stars, with Silverpaw. He started towards her, then stopped as another member of the clan walked up to ShiningStar. He looked at him, and tried to disguise his anguish.
"What is it, Crackleclaw?" He asked.
"Her, and Him," The cat nodded to AngelDust and Silverpaw. "We want to know why they're both here. She is dangerous. She's an outsider, ShiningStar, and she could be trying to take the clan apart. And He. What if he really is from StarClan? He could be the messenger of doom everyone's talking about. He could be the one thats supposed to return and bring death to the lake." ShiningStar silenced him with a flick of his tail.
"You don't seem to have much faith in me," He said calmly. "I know you don't trust AngelDust, but think to yourself. How many more fresh kills has she brought the clan than the best hunter? How many times has she stopped you having to help the apprentices clean out the Elder's den? With only two apprentices, they don't get helped enough. And Silverpaw, is not the messenger of doom. I'm not raising him just so he can kill everyone afterwards. When he's ready, by the end of Greenleaf, I'm going to take him to the Moonpool with our Medicine Cat so he can talk to StarClan, is that acceptable?" He said firmly. Crackleclaw looked pleased with his answer.
"Yes, ShiningStar."
"Good, then please tell other cats what I just said, ok?"
"Yes ShiningStar." The young cat bounced off to the nearest group of cats to tell them what he'd heard. ShiningStar knew he'd conince them. He carried on towards AngelDust. He sat down next to her and studied her.
"What you said earlier, did you mean it?" He asked, feeling slightly sick.
