I might take a look if I'm not feeling lazy, but I'm normally lazy when it comes to Pokémon games, so I just experience them as I go, haha. (Or see them in the anime before I actually get the game. xD)

Heres a question for everyone: What type do you think should be paired with the starter pokemon?
I mean i think a grass and flying would be pretty cool as a starter like a hummingbird perhaps? And a fire and fairy might be cool oh and a water and steel too.

Thoughts?

Fire/Poison- some kind of combustive, toxic gas spewing Pokemon or some form of radiation
Fire/Ice- dry ice actually 'burns' your skin and is ice
Water/Fairy- something unique and HOPEFULLY less girly looking lost most fairy types... Maybe based on kelpie or nymph spirit looking thing

Water/Ghost - Don't ask me why ... I just would LOVE to see this! A ghost that controls the water ... Omg I would love it >.<
Water/Fairy - Since I love Water types and I've been starting to love the Fairy-type ... Why not? ^^
Fire/Electric - I want this! The design would be awesome >.<
Fire/Ice - I just saw this idea from Arrow and I loved it! Altough I don't think GF would ever do a starter with those types, but ... we never know ;)
Grass/Flying - Yes, I would like to see this with one condition ... The design needs to be cool ... I don't want to see aTropius V2!

I really want to see a Grass/Flying bird Pokémon too, but thinking about its weaknesses is a bit demoralizing for me. xD

That's what I'd say too, unless it's like the firefighters from Fahrenheit 451 (by Ray Bradbury).

Spoiler:

Firefighters are people who burn books, because they're illegal to keep people dumb.

Another starter type that could work is grass/rock, I'm thinking of a moss overgrown rock for this.

I'd really like a Fire/Electric starter, that's a type combination that hasn't been used yet (except for Rotom but who cares). I mean it would be effective against the Water starter but you can just fix that my making it Water/Ground, can't you?

If I ever hear that we won't get a Grass/Fire I will kill the nearest living thing. We have Water/Grass, a Water/Fire(well it hasn't been anounced yet but I know about it) so why not complete the trio? Also would be a major help if you pick water(Like me!)

Sounds like a good possibility! I have no clue what they would base it on, though. Maybe a firefighter...? :D

Yeah I'd love to see a grass/flying humming bird. *.*
Fire/Poison >8D I just like those types.
Has Ground/Poison been done yet or am I just forgetful....? Not as a starter I mean but in general.
Most of those types seems a little strong fir early game, so maybe fire typed until final evolution then Fire/Ice but it sounds cool!

Oh yeah, Pokemon can also be based off perfumes, candy, ice cream, garbage, and machine gears. Why not some other stuff like cakes, koalas, peacocks, hummingbirds, pegasus, opossums, narwhals, flamingo, coffee beans [exeggcute anyone], gargoyles, centaurs, cerberus, chimeras, gorgons, harpies, manticores, merpeople, minotaur, sirens, hippogriffs, ram, unicorn, sphinx, and automatons [these are mostly from Wikipedia and other Internet sources]
