Sooo... Name your favorite Pokemon.

I don't even know what my favorite Pokémon is anymore, haha. It has gotta be either Bulbasaur, Sewaddle, or Swadloon, but I just can't decide between them. xD

Sorry I wasn't on lately, I got a cold and it's been killing me today.

Aw, dang. I hope ya get better! :D

First two things aren't exactly true. But I don't feel like going too in depth but there have been plenty of call backs to previous series and such. Most recent one I can think of (as I haven't caught up on the anime) is Ash looking at Pikachu when he heard about Mega-Sceptile. It was subtle, but the expression the two gave they were definitely thinking of Ash's Sceptile at Oak's lab.

Looks like I'm pretty behind, as I haven't gotten to the part about Mega Sceptile yet aha. I'm pretty sure I left off at the Abomasnow episode, which was quite some time ago.

But don't worry about the other references, as I already wrote Dedenne a big wall of text yesterday (sorry Dedenne for making you read that :P) with all of the callbacks I could remember. xD

He still does, though. xD

In the third episode of AG, Ash had memories of Misty and Brock, and told May and Max that Brock used to cook for the two of them. Plus, Max also recognized Ash as one of the top 8 of the Johto League, which Ash acknowledged. And of course he remembers his Pokémon too! After May caught her Bulbasaur, Ash remembered his own Bulbasaur and even brought it back from Oak, just so it could meet up with May's Bulbasaur. And a lot of his Pokémon come back throughout AG as well, most notably after the Hoenn League ended, and during various instances of the Battle Frontier.

As for DP, there weren't as many references to the past, but Aipom from AG followed him to Sinnoh, and he brought back a bunch of his old Pokémon for the Sinnoh League. Even in BW, Ash remembers the times he spent in Sinnoh when Dawn joins the group, and later during the "Episode N" season, he remembers his Charizard and proceeds brings it back to him (with remastered flashbacks and everything)!

And XY isn't close to finishing, so there aren't too many references yet, but they still exist. During the aquarium episode (XY022), Ash sees a Piplup and says "the one I knew tended to get carried away, though," which can only be referring to Dawn's Piplup. In addition, Ash was already with Pansy at the beginning of the series, since she came with him at the end of BW. When they parted ways, Ash said "thank you for everything up until now," which basically implies he was referring to the past. xD

As for aging, it's not that he can't age - it's just that his age was retconned to being 10 again in BW, for the sake of simplifying things to present to a new audience. I say "retcon" because while his age was never directly confirmed in AG or DP, you can calculate his age by counting every single day that passed throughout the series. Of course, doing that would be completely impractical, so they just "overrode" that information with a simple retcon. And while it is true that they could've retconned him to be older, that was their own choice to make him 10.

OOOOOHHH, you mean when he battled Ash?! I just pulled up the episode, and I can't believe I missed that! From that same episode, it also seems that Ash remembers Steven, who he met once during the AG series, so... yeah. xD

I had to look it up and rewatch it, it was so subtle i didnt even notice it haha

122 (Are we actually getting to 150 for once?

Maybe if Ash actually aged it would be more realistic...

By reset we mean he never talks about the past or past pokemon and he also doesnt age :P

That's not so strange though, in many series and comics characters seem to be invincible and not aging. While not Pokémon related at all, I've read some anniversary special of Donald Duck lately in which he suddenly realizes he's actually very old but hasn't aged a bit and decided to write a book about a cure against age by making yourself appear in comics.

Well, I personally don't think Ash is the problem. It's just that the anime has very simplistic writing, so even if we had a new protagonist, the anime would be almost essentially a repeat of the old formulas (with only a few new twists), assuming the same production team stays intact.

Now if we had more complex writing and Ash was still the protagonist, then the anime would still have a good chance of satisfying a lot more people.

At least, this is just my guess, anyway. xD

I think you're right about that. Basically over half the episodes has the same story. They travel somewhere and meet a specific Pokémon, trainer or event. Team Rocket interrupts and tries either to steal that Pokémon or Ash's Pikachu. They fail. Everything is okay and they continue they journey. The episodes are mostly separate stories linked together, which makes them ideal to watch in any order without being able to understand the global story, because it's not very complicated, but it's neither in the games, that's just how the franchise works.

Sooo... Name your favorite Pokemon.

That question is actually harder than you'd expect. There are so many Pokémon and each of them has their own special traits. I like many in a completely different way. At the moment I think my favorite is Chandelure, but they switch around very quickly.

I hope we get to 150 and my favorite is Blaziken [or Mega Blaziken].

As for 150... I really wouldn't be surprised though if a random ghost comes in and yells 'Boo', unless there are no permanent ghosts. As we passed 100, shouldn't all the temporary ghosts be cleansed?

Hoping so as well :)

It'd be awesome to have a game. I wanna know what happened to Lysandre since the building blew up an all. I like Kalos over Hoenn as a region, geographically, so I'd like to see OR/AS Megas in Kalos for sure!
