12. Yeah I miss how it used to be. And some of the people that used to post here.

Really? It was good? I've got a mate that knows ALOT about movies and he said it was absolutely trash.
I'll have to see it to find out for myself I guess.

I really wanna see "Love and Other Drugs" ;D even though it's probably and unmanly movie ;p

I NOEZ ;;

Well, ya know, I guess it probably was a little lackluster in the general aspect, but still... it did what a movie is supposed to do. It kept me HIGHLY entertained, kept my attention, and played up a bit on my emotions. I remember and LOVE the original Tron and I feel that this one definitely lives up to its predecessor.

I wanna see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. The trailer released with Tron. It's amazingu~

14. Funny you should say that because it's the complete opposite to what my mate said haha.
Well, each to their own I guess.

18. I'm quite picky when it comes to movies to be honest haha.
I'll probably still go see Tron anyways.

I'm not the pickiest in the world, in all honesty. There are a few that I don't like, though. Like, I'm not a particular horror movie fan. Like, at all. More specific examples include of course Twilight and, much to many people's surprise, Avatar. The former is.... while an interesting concept, not the best written piece and DEFINITELY not the most well-made of movies. The cast? I can't stand the two main characters. Or their actors as those characters. It just.... blegh. Like watching an indie college student 2nd rate production, to put it bluntly. As for Avatar, it's very weird explaining it. It was GORGEOUS. AMAZINGLY beautiful. And very well made. However, I think the plot was SOOO terribly dry and overused. SO often have I seen movies use the Pocahontas approach for plot or something similar. This is no different. I think that the ONLY thing that made that movie so popular were indeed the effects. I don't like movies that are all about effects. I like movies with SOME plot that isn't so cut and dry and predictable.

To me, in order of importance for a film to be good, is this:
1- plot
2- execution and delivery (the movie as a whole aside from effects and editing; raw acting, camera angles, lighting, etc.)
3- editing and effects

Twilight didn't have the first two, and it barely had the third until Eclipse when it had a decent director. Avatar was still missing that first one and somewhat the second one. It's very hard to explain without turning this into a massively long post, though =b

Next years movies on my list to see: Thor, Pirates 4, Transformers 3, HP7p2, Hangover 2.... way more that I can't remember right off-hand =b

Okay, I have one thing good to say about Twilight: the idea was fairly sound. There were just a LOT of flaws in the execution:

  1. Bella is a Mary Sue
  2. Edward is a creeper
  3. TOO MUCH BLOODY SEXUAL ANGST see what I did thar? :B
  4. No character development like, whatsoever in the main characters.
  5. The author pansied out when writing the last book and completely ruined an epic fight. Seriously. That was set up to make the series tolerable. But she didn't do it.
  6. TOO. MUCH. BLOODY. ANGST.
Avatar could've indeed been possibly one of the greatest movies of all time. And the Pocahontas method could've been done EXTREMELY well for the movie. However, I felt that it was too long and drawn out at certain parts, parts that were mostly just there to show off Pandora (Incredibly original name, by the way. Naming a deadly, harsh planet after the most chaotic and destructive mythical item in human history/mythology? Almost as ingenious as naming a non-existant material Unobtanium that can only be found on another planet. Oh wait.... >,>) and the special 3D cameras Cameron HELPED develop. I just.... You know what I wanna say? Avatar reminds me of a Shounen. A typical one. The lead guy (Sam Worthington's character? What's his name.....) is like the sterotypical savior in a good vs. evil plot where he has to turn the tides against the evil so that the good may triumph. It really was just like: Really? Why am I watching this aside from seeing something that Star Wars in 3D could also give me? Or Star Trek 3D?

*shrugs* I dunno.

/wants to totally play that game so bad over break and will~

23.

In a way Lloyd is... kind of like the hero who will triumph over 'evil' with his friends. However, Mithos wasn't exactly evil. Just... just... really misunderstood and someone who took a few words from a dear sister of his and twisted them too much into his own idealistic world. ;___;

STILL THE GAME IS AWESOME AND AMAZING. It turns from the typical story of 'a chosen who will go and save the world' to something else. ^___^

27. Sooo I'm watching Push for the first time, because there's nothing on and Stargate: Atlantis isn't on for another hour or so.
