Weavile Counter

well breloom can't switch-in on weavile as Areial ace destroys it, and efect spore isn't worth it. Clerics lol at it.

Grats Sabaku looks like you will be making the other thread lmao

I feel all fuzzy inside. xD Maybe it'll be stickied too, well if a mod thinks it's worthy. xD

Forretress, we need a moveset for him, and fix up my Breloom one. Magmortar I personally don't like, but I could add him. I need movesets people. xD If you make a moveset that all of us agree worthy, I'll add it to the original post for everyone to copy for Weavile counters.

ABYAY I'll add your set into the first post.

Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash ** Hax is here.
Trait: Pressure
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Crunch / Stone Edge / Rock Polish
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake. Pretty much obvious Set.

I'm no expert so how does a Sandstorm mess up a Focus Sash or Choice band? (I'm not sure which one you're all saying it's messing up)

Bullet Punch would be good, just as good as Mach Punch Breloom, without stab. I like that move set. The Burn orb/Facade/Guts combo is a killer against others than just Weavile. Sounds devious. xD

Ok, added Forretress moveset, check it out.

Actually, most Weaviles are Focus Sash'd, not Choice Banded O_o. Which is why Hippowdon makes such a great counter, 1 Earthquake Ko's it, after the Sandstorm has messed it up of course.

There is always:

Harriyama@Burn Orb
Adamant~252 HP/252 Attack
Bullet Punch
Close Combat
Facade
Fake Out

That's where you're wrong. CB Weavile is the most used.

Anyway, the best counter to Weavile is ReflectGoose (that is Metagross with Reflect), period. Forretress and Skarmory do paricularly well.

Also, you guys are not coming off with good counters. A counter must be something that switches into any of the other Pokemon's moves, with little or no damage, and pose an immediate threat to said Pokemon.

Focus Sash leaves you with 1 HP, and then the Sandstorm just finishes you off.

Not to insult, but Swords Dance/Focus Sash is extremely common, either that or Life Orb. I've never even battled a CB Weavile and I battle a LOT. Seriously, they aren't that common.

P.S. I don't think I've ever even seen you in the battling section. Maybe once or twice at most.....

Wow, I'm so stupid. xD I should of known that.

Wow, I'm having trouble organizing all this. I need movesets and stuff, so I don't have to created ten on my own, Kazaam's doing good giving an entire set along with reasoning. Thank you. I'm like stressed, I like to call stress in less than 10 minutes, INSTA-STRESS! xD

@Sabaku no Gaara: Here's a good Foretress moveset for you...

Rapid Spin/Stealth Rock
Earthquake/Spikes
Explosion
Gyro Ball (Foretress' loaded gun aimed at Weavile!)

Make sure it's a relaxed Foretress, to make his piss poor speed even worse. Kiss Weavile goodbye!

I could say the same thing, I've battled a lot. Wait till you battle CBC, Poketholgy, Smogon, and Diglett's members. F-Sash/SD Weavile is non-existant to those people, it's just CB CB CB CB CB CB to them.

P.S. I don't think I've ever even seen you in the battling section. Maybe once or twice at most.....

I can say the same to you.

I'm just going to post something here! Aaarrgh!!!

Thanks for the set, I'll switch out mine and add yours.

@bold: Yep, I did that myself *feels proud* xD I figured that killing off more speed for defense would be a plus to the gyro. I'm having a lot of fun tonight getting so many posts on a topic like this in less than 15 minutes unless time is just flying.

I have Yanmega as my Weavile Counter. Works pretty well IMO.

Yanmega
Modest@Focus Sash (I prefer Modest over Timid, because of Speed Boost)
EV's: 252 SA, 252 Spd
~Speed Boost
-Bug Buzz
-Air Slash
-Protect/Giga Drain/Shadow Ball/Ancientpower
-Protect/Giga Drain/Shadow Ball/Ancientpower

After one Speed Boost, Yanmega can actually outrun the majority of Weavile out there. It works like this:

Weavile used Ice Punch!
Yanmega survived with Focus Sash!
Yanmega used Bug Buzz!
Yanmega's Speed Rose!
Yanmega used Air Slash!
Weavile Fainted!

Of course, if you have Protect, you could do that on your first turn as well. This may be preferable, as quite a few Weavile carry Ice Shard. As you can imagine, that will destroy the above scenario.

EDIT: That set is even better if Weavile doesn't have Focus Sash, XD. I wrote this post assuming it did. ^_^

Well, I've been working on this Pokemon, and with Intimidate, it's a Weavile counter as well:

Hitmontop@Leftovers
Adamant~252 HP/74 Attack/184 Speed
Bulk Up
Mach Punch
Stone Edge
Rapid Spin/Close Combat

This can double as a Rapid Spinner if you'd like it to. Intimidate/Bulk Up/Mach Punch=Weavile Pwnage.

Oh, and after a Speed boost, as long as Yanmega is EV trained right, it outruns everything but Ninjask due to it having Speed Boost as well.

Would Infernape be good? I'll make a set for him and then edit first post with it. It's a Mach Puncher.

And yes we should. xD That'd be cool. hahahaha then after this thread dies we can still search for more Weavile Counters until we have them all.

~desu Saba~

I never really considered Infernape... I'm not entirely sure his defenses would hold up that well. He'd resist Ice Punch and Night Slash quite well, but brick break, I dunno. I'm sure he'd stand a chance though.
