After facing Weaviles, I get very annoyed at how cheep they seem to be, so I'm trying to create a counter for Weaviles. I'm going to post my idea and let other people suggest ideas and we can all work together to create the best Weavile Counter. (If this does well, I might just make a thread for specific pokemon counters)

My first candidate for a Weavile counter is Aerodactyl. The reason is his speed is the only one higher than Weavile's with a super effective type, Rock. He can counter the fighting type Brick Break of most competitive Weavile's with his Flying type, but this opens up an Ice type weakness. (but I have that covered with another move, hopefully he'll land it before the Weavile does and Ice Punch)

    Hippowdon@Leftovers
    Impish~252 HP/Defense
    Earthquake
    Stealth Rock
    Ice Fang
    Slack Off

    Azumarill@Leftovers
    Adamant~252 Attack/HP
    Aqua Jet
    Waterfall
    Brick Break
    Double Edge

    Forretress@Leftovers
    Relaxed~252 Defense/Attack
    Rapid Spin/Stealth Rock
    Earthquake/Spikes
    Explosion
    Gyro Ball

    Yanmega@Focus Sash
    Timid/Modes~252 Speed/Special Attack~Speed Boost
    -Bug Buzz
    -Air Slash
    -Protect/Giga Drain/Shadow Ball/Ancientpower
    -Protect/Giga Drain/Shadow Ball/Ancientpower

    Hitmontop@Leftovers
    Adamant~252 HP/74 Attack/184 Speed
    Bulk Up
    Mach Punch
    Stone Edge
    Rapid Spin/Close Combat

    Infernape@Focus Sash
    Hasty/Naive~???
    Close Combat/Mach Punch
    Flamethrower/Fire Blast
    Stone Edge
    Grass Knot/Thunderpunch

Just tell me what you think, comment, umm edit.

Aerodactyl is not a Weaville counter.

EDIT: Well, actually he could be a counter since he's faster than Weaville.

XD Figures, I'm not that great, I was just searching for a faster pokemon. And don't just say "It's not good" explain why.

EDIT: @ EDIT: Thus the reason I chose it.

Aerodactyl can be a Weaville counter, and your set works perfectly. No Focus Sash though because of Fake Out.

It doesn't matter if its fast or not, but no offence weaviles are easy to defeat... Make sure you have a fighting, fire, or bug pokemon on your team to defeat weaviles. lol ;)

Wow, lots of attention to this thread in the first 3 mintues. I guess a lot of people hate facing Weaviles. XD

Ok, but I'm confused how Mach Punch breloom can do that to Aero. High defense plus it's not super effective.

Mach Punch is the greatest counter-attack against Weaville. Not only does it strike first, but deals x4 damage because of the Dark/Ice typing.

That's because I was talking about Weavile. IMO.

Oh, I get it now. Yeah, my friend was suggesting Mach Punch. I'm trying to get as many ideas though. So we can have more than one pokemon as a Weavile Counter. I could add all the details to the first post. In the meantime, we need a movelist made for Heracross and Breloom. I could work on one once I get Hippowdon and Azumarril into the first post.

Wouldn't Hippowdon be OHKO'd by an Ice Punch from one? Or is it's defense really high?

EDIT: I have created a Breloom set, mess with it cuz it probably isn't too good. (It's in first post.)

    Magmortar w/ Mach Punch works.

Well, my Hippowdon kills all the Weaviles that I come across. Although Azumarill is an amazing counter as well. Their movesets are:

    Hippowdon@Leftovers
    Impish~252 HP/Defense
    Earthquake
    Stealth Rock
    Ice Fang
    Slack Off

Since most Weavile are Choice Banded or Life Orb'd, Hippowdon isn't surviving 2 Ice Punches. And you're asking to get yourself critical hit if you keep slacking off.

A counter isn't something that gets hit super effective from what it's trying to counter. Ice Shard says "sup" to Aerodactyl. So basically, steels are your best bet, Forretress being the best one, killing Weavile with Gyro Ball. Bronzong takes neutral damage from Night Slash and doesn't like the high critical hit rate.

I should start a thread on how to counter FEAR.

My Rhyperior eats Weavile alive. Like Hippowdon, it usually takes 3 un-swords danced ice punches to bring him to his knees. Hell, mine's adamant too. I bet Impish-perior could take four IC's/BB's from Weavile, and his abilitity is one of the best IMO.

Relaxed Rhyperior w/ Solid Rock+Leftovers can take so many physical hits, it's absolutely amazing.

Well, after having a match with Kazaam, he has some anti-weavile stuff. That Hippowdon... 2 Ice Punches only half shotted it, even though I was intimdated... dang.

That Azumarill set is also rather effective. However, after having a Weavile for so long, I've seen most of what I need to see. I've been through three Weaviles until I stuck with my current one, 25 Ninjas. You'll notice Andy has a 20 Ninjas... that was my old one.

The best counter to Weavile is Mach Punch without doubt. However, Sandstorm just ruins Focus Sash, hence why my Weavile's ineffective against Sandstorm teams. It even has a lot of trouble with T-Wave Blisseys unless I've Swords Danced previously. However, not even that helps because it just barely hangs in with a little life.

Your first opinon on Aerodactyl is also nice.

Aerodactyl@Muscle Band (first non-hax item to mind)
    Nature: Jolly
    EVs: 252 speed/252 attack/6 HP

    Rock Slide
    Earthquake
    Ice Fang
??? (a move of your choice)

Rock Slide has a chance to flinch and is your STAB, so 2 for 1. Basically, Aerodactyl is an anti-sweeper, but isn't so good against more stable pokemon. I might raise one myself sometime.
