Ever see a pokemon and then look at its stas and think what the heck. For example take a look at houndoom. To me it looks quite menacing and a physical but it is a special attacker. Are there any fast pokemon you think look quite slow. Discuss with me what you think.

Gonna kick this over to PGC since stats are specific to the games.

Arceus - yeah i said it. God, the creator of all legendaries only has a +50 BST over a sloth.
Beedrill - A 3' Wasp has the same BST as a moth. Case in point being moths are harmless, while wasps are very dangerous. Also it has a speed stat of 75. Read this and tell me its not fast
They have incredibly painful stings, and move extremely fast It is able to fire its stinger as a projectile, and regenerate it. They chase after intruders relentlessly in a swarm.
    Seviper -
It may hide in tall grass and strike unwary prey with its venomous fangs.
Seriously? It has a speed of 65...

Escavalier has a base Speed of 20, yet its Black Dex entry states it can fly at high speeds.

Also, what I find weird is on how Pokemon with low base Speeds can learn Aerial Ace, an attack that involves Speed (like Ferrothorn and Tyranitar).

Its relative sluggishness could be the very reason for it being an ambush predator.

Pidgeot, similarly, is said to fly at mach 2. Presumably these speeds take time to reach and are met only outside of battle. The 'speed' stat may thusly be better thought of as 'agility' in most cases.

I think the biggest Pokémon mistake has to be Flareon.
It's the most glamorous eeveelution, yet a disaster.
A beautiful disaster, if you will.

I mean, great physical attack (130) yet all it learns are special attacks. Ironically, it has a pretty low sp. attack (95). Seriously? Thank goodness fourth gen. tweaked at this, adding Fire Fang and Last Resort to it's moveset.

Yeah but no Flare Blitz. :\

Yeah, I know what you mean there are Pokémon who have either outragously high stats for what they are or extremely low, can't think who right now but I know there is.

I feel that way about Electrode, it has a Base Speed of 406 (making it the 6th highest), I know it rolls but I can't see how it can roll so quickly.

this has nothing to do with the topic but:

I was shocked to see that Chandellure has the highest special attack (145) if you do not count legendary Pokemon that are banned from competition.

What was weird was Gigalith. Its Pokedex entry claims that it can fire solar energy absorbed by its orange crystals, yet its Special Attack base stat is 60.

And it also learns Power Gem.
