What book(s) are you currently reading?

Right now I'm reading (well, on the last chapter of) The Serpent's Egg. Not the best book but it is a fantasy novel and I got it for a dollar.

I'm currently reading The Looking Glass Wars, wich is kinda dorky fantasy novel but Its a easy quick read.

But What I am continuing to read over time is the Ender series it is REALLY GOOD. If you are remotely into Science Fiction Novels, or if you want to get into them read "Ender's Game" And then from that there are a TUN of novels after that. And so far they are all good.

You can tell I am really into the Ender Series *shot*

I just finished William Fielding's Lord of the Flies. ^_^ It truly is an excellent book! Pretty morbid, but what would you expect from a book like that? I just loved it to bits. Right now I'm finishing off a book called Mendeleyev's Dream: the Quest for the Elements... which is all about the history of alchemy, its progression into chemistry, its intermingling and roots in philosophy, and how Mendeleev derived the Periodic Table. >_>; Shut up; I know I'm a nerd. XD;;

I thought Golding wrote Lord of the Flies. I loved Simon. He's the only one who had any sense. Golding definitely got his message across with his scary but wonderful symbolism.

I just started The Shadow of the Winter Palace by Edward Crankshaw. Its a walk-through of Russian monarchy starting with Alexander I. I am supposed to be reading Beowolf though. Someday I will get past the author's note.

So I've finished reading good ol' Endymion's book.

Can anyone recommend me more good books regarding Western society VS Japanese society?

I actually liked that when I read it like four years ago, I've been looking everywhere in my small town to buy it and the sequels... no luck though, but in a few weeks I'm going out of town... so maybe...

And for my list: I've finidhed 'The Dark Tower' (Hated the ending... 0_o), and replaced it with Stephen King's 'The Stand'.

To be honest, I don't like to read in my spare time as I could do better things, like post on here!!!

BUT... Right now I am Reading Into The Wild for my upcoming AP English class. It's an Ok book, but it doesn't help that other than the Harry Potter books, almost no book keeps my attention. :O

Finished "Throne of Jade" by Naomi Novik the other day (sequel to "His Majesty's Dragon"). Spectacular book. Novik is the only author I know that can make an eight month sea voyage thoroughly engaging.

Moved on to "Black Powder War" (book three in the Temeraire series). So far it's been good.

The Twilight series... On the second book again. ^^

I've had the series so far..for less than 2 weeks.. and have already read all the books a total of 3 times. On the fourth time now. ^^

Edward Cullen.... (Part of my avatar) <3

Brilliant Books.

I am reading The Northern Lights.
It is the story that "The Golden Compass" is based off.
Although I just started, I love it!

i am currently reading "skinny *****" which is actually a really fasinating diet book. i loved the chapter on dairy products. like how milk is so bad for you. Milk actually takes more calcium from the body than it gives. plus, most doctors get less than three hours of nutritional training in medical school.

I doubt that milk is bad for you. Millions of years of mammalian evolution would make that highly unlikely.

Back to the topic at hand, I'm currently reading Guns, Germs, and Steel as part of my summer reading.

"Forbidden Words, Taboo and the Censorship of Language" - Keith Allan and Kate Burridge
"Hate Speech" - Rita Kirk Whillock and David Slayden
"Nig ger: The strange Career of a Troublesome Word" - Randall Kennedy

The English language is so interesting.

I just finished reading A. R. R. R Roberts.
The Va Dinci Cod and The Soddit. Both parodies.
And I'm also reading books by Sean Williams. Books of the Cataclysm series and Books of the Change series, I'm also reading another series which was done by Sean Williams and Shane Dix but I forgot it's name lol.

I haven't really been reading one book, I've mostly been on and off these:

Kurt Cobain's journal
Light Years by Tammar Stein
Lights Out by R.L Stein
Being Dead by Vivian Vande Velde
The Road of the Dead by Kevin Brooks

Yeah, I really just gotta sit down and read one. I'll probably do that during the vacation drive.

Ooh a thread about reading, yay ^^

Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

And I just finished Kite Runner, loved it by the way!
