6th Gen What did you nickname your pokemon?

I nicknamed my Chespin Timmy because he looked like Timmy Turner from Fairly Odd Parents (of course, he doesn't now that he's evolved).

In reality I only nicknamed on my second and present run through on x and here they are

Chestnaught - Forrest ( grass/ fighting = woods and Forrest griffin MMA fighter )
Chandelure - Grim ( got bored trying to think of something and didn't wanna use my chandelure on white 2's nickname: elzwhere )
Florges - Blixie ( was gonna do blanca but had a female hawlucha I was training named varuca and didn't like both ending with ca)
Lapras - Aurellia ( named after Spanish treasure fleet in the movie fools gold )
Noivern - Caves ( I could have took the " IMA have my dragon a bad a. Name and name draglixiusosisagon or some crap but I didn't want to )
Got a salamence as an HM slave in the 6th spot ATM but am thinking of putting a Alakazam there before I challenge the league, his/ her nickname will be art

I always name the first one of each pokémon I catch, usually something that incorporates their real name... so my Fennekin was named Fennel (like the herb). This does mean I have a tonne of wierd names.

I'm planning on calling my completed team after legendary starships from TV & Animé, these are the ones I've thought of so far..

Gengar: Nostromo
Alakazam: Ryo-Ohki
Galvantula: Far Star
Sylveon: Fireball

If anyone gets any of those references let me know, because you get 10 cool points in the post. :D

I don't nickname my Pokemon that often (I'm awful at coming up with names for stuff usually). But I have these ones with nicknames on my Y:

Aegislash: Falchion (the blade from Fire Emblem, not the type of sword)
Klefki: Mr. Jingles
Pyroar: Caineghis (a Fire Emblem character)
And I have 3 Espurrs named: Crack Fiend, IWANTYERSOUL, and Cuddles.
 
Heres the nicknames of my X ingame team.

Most are French names or French Heros names (to fit the kalos region being France).

Gardevoir- Geneviève

Talonflame- Pénélope

Espeon- Frédéric

Blastoise- Napoleon

Xerneas- Charlemagne

The only one to Brake the rule is my Delphox which I named Rommel after the Afrika Korps Field Marshal Erwin Rommel because his nickname was the Desert Fox and Fenikin is a Desert Fox (Fennec fox).
 
I don't have X/Y yet, but I've already decided that I'm naming my Froakie "Greninjitsu" :3.

There you have it. :3 I've named my Pidgey digit for many years. I think since I started playing Pokemon Yellow? Originally, it was supposed to rhyme with the pronunciation for pidgeot, which I believe is 'pij-it'. I could be wrong though. Anyway, it just stuck with my ever since then that I've always named my Pidgey Digit.
 
Delphox: Mozilla (Mozilla Firefox!)
Pidgeot: Obrigado (Means Thank you in Portuguese I believe)
Blastoise: Uno (My first starter was Squirtle, Uno, first...)
Gogoat: Yogoat (Inside joke with friends)
Aurorus: Stella (I...just like the name. Suits her)
Dedenne: Kishou (Fits her ?)
 
As a person who typically doesn't nickname their Pokémon, I think I've found the joy in naming them with my post-game team. Note they're still in training, but right now I have with me...

Wasn't really creative with this one, but you get the idea here.

Was originally going to be the name for my Vivillion, but I decided to give it to my Togepi instead.

Toothless the Mawile
Kind of like calling the big guy in the group Tiny.

Ness the Dragalage
Even though Dragalage is based on a totally different species, I named her Ness based off of Nessie the Loch Ness Monster.

Sybil the Espeon
Sybil like the oracle. It seemed fitting since Espeon is a Psychic type and it's a girl!

Excalibur the Honedge

These are just some of my memorable nicknamed pokemon.

Got a female Honedge named Cut Lass. (play on words)

I also have a Kricketune named Charles. (My favorite on a Nuzlocke run I did)

Charizard named Ember. (name every Charmander I get Ember for some reason)

I named Pancham Theodore. (cause you know why)

Goomy named Taffy. (cause candy)

Tyrantrum named Reggie. (Iunno)

Got a Typhlosion named Tyrone. (He looked like a Tyrone)

Named Froakie Fredrick. (It just sounds right)

Ralt's name is Jem. (Truly outrageous)

Got a Garbador named Icky. (cause)

Mawile's name is Filia. (look up Skullgirls)

I don't give my Pokemon nicknames. XD I have no idea why I don't though. It would be nice to give them nicknames, but I suppose I just like them with their original names.

When on my first play through of a new generation Pokémon game I don't use nicknames so that I can easily remember their actual names.
After the Elite Four I have six Pokémon with nicknames so far;
Vulthuryol the Charizard
Bubblegum the Azumarill
Excalibur the Aegislash
Mourningwood the Trevanant
van Gogh the Smeargle
Goozilla the Goodra

No matter what the pokemon game, I always name my Ampharos Pharamp.
 
I have a new team set up now.

Name: Plutia
Nickname: Iris Heart (reference to Hyperdimension Neptunia. You should watch it)

Garchomp-Zangetsu (Cutting Moon. Picked for Garchomp's arm fins looking like the blade)
Pikachu-Gonryomaru (Stern Spirit. Picked for both being Electric)
Aerodactyl-Kazeshini (Wind of Death. Fossil=Death, and it is a Flying-type)
Blaziken (no nickname yet because it is the event one)
Charizard-Ryujin Jakka (Flowing Blade-like Flame. Nickname I wanted for Blaziken, see above. Was originally going to nickname it Tobiume (Flying Plum Tree))
Linoone-Wabisuke (The Wretched One. Picked because Wabisuke is useless in my eyes, and my Linoone is a pure HM Slave)
 
I don't nickname my team at all, pretty much the only nicknamed Pokemon I have on X right now is Kinniekins the Braixen which I obtained from Shauna. It's been a tradition that I don't nickname my main team a lot and I probably won't stop it anytime soon.
