What do you call the D/P trio?

there are two trios in this generation...

1st being the last580TBS trio (uxie azelf mesprit)
2nd being the first680TBS trio (palkia dialga giratina)
arceus created 3 dimension pokes and 3 human-ability pokes
both of these trios have the colours magenta,blue and yellow


why did they do 2 trios?
i think i know why:
every gen they make 3 games, which need 3 mascots.
and every gen they make a legendary trio with 580TBS(total base stats)
so why would they always try to think up some other good mascots for the boxes, when they always make a legendary trio?

-680 instead of 580TBS
-bigger
-more powerful abilities
-more complex awesome design

and there you have them: palkia dialga and giratina, the 2nd typed dragons
but wait! do they follow the type pattern of the old trios?

You shouldn't make assumptions with that basis. The types don't "fit" at all. Palkia and Dialga are only Steel / Dragon and Water / Dragon because those are the most efficient types you can get. You also failed to include Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza, which would make the Water-type have three Pokemon, which throws off your entire thesis.

Plus, the three Lake Spirits are only Psychic because they are the beings which embody the mind. What would you have Azelf, the being of Willpower, be? Fire? It's not much of a fire-type.

Different Gens have different numbers of "Legendaries". 1GEN has 5 (Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Mewtwo, Mew), while 2GEN has 6 (Raikou, Suicune, Entei, Ho-oh, Lugia, Celebi) and 3GEN has 10 (Latios, Latias, Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, Regice, Registeel, Regirock, Deoxys, Jirachi). There aren't just three distinct ones. There are single ones and duos (eg. Cressellia and Darkrai, Lati@s)

Technically, Gigas, Heatran and Cresselia are legendaries too.
With Shaymin, Manaphy, Phione & Arceus and Darkrai.

I don't know if you've noticed, but R/S/E introduced the 'important' trios. The normal trio is still Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie. The path is something like this:

TRIO: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres
"UBER": Mewtwo
CUTE: Mew

TRIO: Raikou, Entei, Suicune
IMPORTANT: Lugia, Ho-oh
CUTE: Celebi

TRIO: Regirock, Regice, Registeel
IMPORTANT: Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza
FILLERS: Latias, Latios
"UBER": Deoxys
CUTE: Jirachi

TRIO: Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf
IMPORTANT: Dialga, Palkia, Giratina
FILLERS: Heatran, Regigigas, Cresselia
"UBER": Darkrai
CUTE: Manaphy, Shaymin
ANOTHER LEVEL: Arceus

I like your new forum-set, Umbreon.

I read the Pokedex entry for Heatran and it doesn't seem legendary at all - it just lives on volcano walls with cross shaped feet.
What do you think about the relationship between Cresselia and Darkrai, though? They form more of a duo than Heatran, Gigas and Cresselia form a trio.

when i first saw it i couldnt believe that palkia is water

kyogre groudon and rayquaza are not a trio
you know what a trio is? 3 pokemon with many similarities, with the same amount of similarities when talking about stats attacks, learn lvls etc...
now look at groudon and kyogre....you'll find alot of similarities (abilities, movesets, stats are the same just physical>special etc)
now compare them with rayquaza
it looks superior to them in some ways (ability thats makes the abilities of the other 2 useless, better stats and totally different spread,....EVEN A 2ND TYPE)
and as you now its the one that stops them

so there we have a big main duo aka lugia ho-oh, and a pokemon thats related to them but superior!

it doesnt even matter as they could make it fire and change it to look like fire if they wanted to.

1sts mascot: Mew (like the blue pixie is the mascot of the blue dimension legendary (Azelf, Dialga))

2nd : Dialga Palkia Giratina
2nds mascots: Azelf Mesprit Yuxie
(both blue,magenta,yellow!)

3rd: Ho-oh Lugia Rayquaza
(the flying 680TBS box legends)
4th: Groudon Kyogre Regigigas

5th A: Raikou Entei Suicune (leader: Ho-oh, co-leader: Groudon)
5th B: Articuno Zapdos Moltres (leader: Lugia, co-leader: Kyogre)

People are kinda getting off topic with this generation pattern thing, and MiTjA, saying that Mewtwo is just an experiment doesn't destroy the fact that it is still a legendary.

Anyways, my brother calls them onion heads...Uxie made him do that.
 
I hate them. If I didn't speak English, I would call them 'n00bs'.

Now everyone chase them out of our games, with pitch-forks, and flaming torches.

I'm going to refute what you said about Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza being the leaders of Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos and Entei, Raikou, and Suicune and the three Regis, respectively. You have no proof.

It's also completely illogical - No Leviathan is going to be dominating over a Phoenix or a Mountain-bird, no Sky-Lord is going to be ruler of the entities of ground.

Your conclusion is probably valid about Mesprit, Azelf and Uxie, though I'm not sure what Knowledge has to do with rebellion, what Willpower has to do with time or what Emotion has to do with space.

Manaphy has a close relationship with Kyogre, as shown in the Temple of the Sea. Mewtwo should be placed near Mew, just because it is a clone of it. If anything, Shaymin should be grouped with Celebi, though not with Jirachi, unless you have good reasoning - Shaymin creates pure land, Celebi protects pure land.

pikachu is uber and deoxys is the counterpart of rayquaza as shown in the 8th movie.....celebi and suicune are related then too?....the trio are dialga palkia and darkrai!111....in 11th movie there will be a perfect duo staring: regigigas and shaymin....
what im trying to say is anime=/=games
the fact that pikachu is crap in da games proves that.

celebi and jirachi are the ones that are of the psychic type and have a secondary type
while the other left cute legends are pure grass and pure water
and they got some really special abilities like making wishes come true and being able to travel through time
while shaymin just looks stupid and looks at grass growing :O

maybe if in the 5th gen arrives a new cute legendary of pure typing that would fit, i'd put them in the pic (manaphy next to kyogre and lugia, shaymin next to groudon and ho-oh and the new one to rayquaza and regigigas, if it has the neccesary look and typing of course...)
 
The sprites I guess maybe not the pixies too soft for legendaries lmao
 
I call them sprites in fact I even nicknamed them, Uxie- KnowSprite,Azelf- Wii-Sprite,Mesprit- Emo Sprite.
