What do you do with your old games?

In my other thread about Pokemon regrets, I noticed that a number of people mentioned regretting selling their games or erasing their save files. As someone who tends to keep the same file forever, and never sells any of my games, I'm curious about how many of you actually sell your games, give them away, or lose them over time. What do you do with your games once you beat them?

I get a copy of every game, and I keep them all safe in a storage box.

On one version of the game, I play my "permanent file", so on this game I will never overwrite the save file. On the opposite copy I will re-set and re-play as often as I wish and I'll simply send my Pokemon over to my permanent game.

I'm jelly, guys! The majority of my old games were stolen and sold by my sister. I think I donated Pokemon White, which was the last game I played before my DS lite broke. You know it's near the end when the hinges go. That's why I got a 2DS this time around.

    RIP DS lite.

Stolen by your sister? Ouch. Did she have any sort of a valid reason for doing that?

I do worry about digital games these days, because Nintendo ties them to their systems. If a system breaks, I'm not sure what to do to save my Pokemon anymore. Same goes for the ones I have in Bank, although I figure since those are at least on Nintendo's servers (supposedly), hopefully there will be some way to recover them (probably after lengthy phone calls to tech support) if something goes wrong.

Most of my old games part from my Sappire are in a shoe box under my bed.

To be honest, I trade them in. I'm not much of a collector, unfortunately; I definitely would still have had all my past Pokémon games if I were!

Would you say you're a collector within the games themselves (i.e., do you tend to complete your Pokedex, etc.)? Or does your non-collecting approach to games extend to your style of gameplay?

I used to restart files constantly, because I'm that kind of person, and just delete Pokemon regardless because I had no other alternative. Nowadays, I restart only very occasionally and transfer them up to the next generation if it's on the DS or stick them in Pokemon Bank which is really useful.

Mostly though, my older games just lay around. I don't throw away or sell games that I enjoyed in case I might want to go back to them. Even if there's a remake.

I'm not a collector in this regard, either, sadly. I only capture and keep Pokémon that I absolutely want or need, haha.

That does make playing the games more efficient! I guess if you're sad about it, there's always time to try a new approach, but if it works for you, go for it!

I started out by only catching what I needed. Then my perfectionistic tendencies caught up with me, and now I have a really hard time playing without obsessing over the Pokedex and training everything, lol. At least you don't have the growing issue of where to store all of the games you've accumulated over the years... (And I like physical cartridges and boxes, so no cutting down on space that way).

I just let it there and stop playing, but I won't sell or just starting a new game since I don't have a pass for poke bank and finding my favorite pokemon is tricky since I did successful trade on GTS.

Once I 100% the game, extras and fnish the Pokedex on my main version of that gen, I just keep the game safe. I'm very protective of my cartrudges XD I'd put them in a fireproof lockbox if I wasn't worried the metal box would mess with them....xD After 1000's of hours, you'd probably feel that way too lol

I usually give mine away or sell them. I really regret ever giving away my games but after a while I just lose interest and am like "oh i will just emulate it". I will not be getting rid of any of my 3DS games though as I just love them way too much!
