What do you think this gen's bug will be?

I'm picturing two bug lines, similar to caterpie and weedle that each evolve two times, with the last evo for both lines changing dependings on if it evolves during the day or at night, seeing as the game is Sun & Moon.

Keep in mind guys that not all Pokémon are based on animals native to the place that the region is based on. *Fennekin much?* Anyways, a Sun Moth is taken already. Maybe a moon counterpart for Volcarona...

Most generations often had a duo of Bug-types available early, but they never really had a connection to day and night other than Johto's bug duo Ledyba and Spinarak, in that the former can only be encountered in the daytime (morning to be specific) while the latter was only encountered at night.

There was also the common misconception that Wurmple evolved into one of its lines at day and the other at night, but Beautifly and Dustox still tended to follow the typical theme of one early Bug-type being happy and cheerful (such as Butterfree and Leavanny) and one menacing one (like Beedrill and Scolipede).

Maybe we might get a duo whose encounter rate was like Ledyba and Spinarak, a happy-looking line found in the day and a scarier line found at night.

I remember thinking that about wurmple for the longest time haha.

It would be nice to have a bug type line with something to that effect though.

Meloetta already beat me to linking the leaked list that mentions those new Bug types. And no, Meloetta, another one hasn't popped up since Sun and Moon's announcement.

There was one claiming there would be a fire/water/grass legend, which would COMPLETLY mess up the type chart. It was quickly removed, or just lost in the flood of speculation though.

Also that list is most likely fake, as that video came out before sun/moon were leaked

Do you think that Sun and Moon will have another bug similar to Vivillion in which depending on the region your 3Ds will determine how its final form looks

As cool as it'd be to see another Pokemon like this, I feel like it should be a gimmick exclusive to Vivillon since it appears to be based on divergent evolution as well as the fact its wings seem to be determined the climate it evolved in.

True and I'm sure if they did a thing like Vivillion in Sun and Moon I probably wouldnt find it as fun or interesting as I did in X and Y

I don't think we'll get a bug Pokemon similar to this, but I can almost guarantee that Vivillon will get new formes in this game, which should count for something??

That would be interesting and if it does happen I won't be disappointed

I want a bug type that's based out of a computer virus. Like Porygon's distant cousin. Considering the would could be a more hi-tech setting in Gen 7, its a nice possibility.

Kidding aside something based out of this bugger:
