I'm not trying to investigate anyone's case, I'm just curious.

Is it different from banning? I noticed "booted out" usually appears on pages with no posts...

    Is it for robots?

    Thanks for your help! ^^

It was the message used on all banned members prior to August 2013 (or somewhere in those whereabouts). It's used on profiles of users that have no authorization to access PC, whether it's a ban or a suspension (aka temporary ban).
Are they able to view the forum without a account?

If they're permanently banned but log out, can they browse the forums?

Wait, can you even log in with a banned account?
It would only show a ban message if you do so with ban info. I think you would need to clear your cookies for this site if you log in that way as well.

Yes, banned members can view the forum whilst not logged in - but obviously, can't post :).

Banned members are able to post in the appeal forum, only visible when actually banned.
