It won't be as popular because it now lacks that nostalgic factor and familiarity that it had. I'm pretty sure 99.99% why Pokemon Go was so popular at the height of its popularity and activity was because of those things. Now there's no anime or games that people grew up with so Pokemon won't be as popular.

Life would be better and worse depending on what kind of person you are. It would be better and worse for me as I would probably go out more and read more books. But I would miss the the plethora of easily accessible information and the free shows/movies I can watch.
