So basically, there's cars, taxis, buses, trams, trains, planes, helicopters, submarines, ships, yachts, the list goes on. What's your favourite overall and why? What's your favourite "everyday" mode of transport (what's easiest to use and why?)

If they are good quality and kept clean trains are my favorite. They move fast, give you leg space, give you scenery to look at, don't give me motion sickness if I try to read, can be pretty comfortable, and I don't have to be the one driving. I don't think anything beats them for comfort except private jets (which I've never been on), but those have got to be way too expensive to justify using.

It's easy for me to say "car," but really I like sailing on maybe a small fishing boat or something, that way I can be near the water!

This is my favorite mode of transport.
    Spoiler:

They save gas, money, and time. I can get from my sister's house to downtown in 20 minutes. It's so convenient. :D Too bad here in my current town, all we have is a bus, and it passes by every hour or two. So I have my car to go by.

I love the subway in New York. Adore it. I love riding it.

Also traveling long distances by train is boring but alright. Would be better if I had internet whenever I wanted it, but it's cheaper and gives you more space for bags so it's nice.

Where I live there's pretty much only cars and buses, which are inconvenient. So cars to both of them.

Cars, definitely. They're the most easiest and imo safest way to travel here. I hate planes, not because I'm scared of flying, but because of the huge sound it makes. Always leaves me with a ringing noise after we get off the plane. Plus there's the ear popping due to pressure. I haven't really traveled in a ship so I can't comment about that, but car is definitely the best imo.

There are buses everywhere where I live, but I prefer being driven in a car because they're the safest way to travel, as DeepImpact said.

I also like to ride in subways because I like the sensation of riding fast.

Yeah, biking is my favourite. Gets me from A to B and gives me exercise. Two birds with one stone so to speak. Besides I can cycle reasonably fast. I can do 5 miles in around 30 minutes which isn't too bad.

Normally I would say a plane, but based on true comfort and what I like, I would have to pick a ship/yacht. Anything that can be on or near the water. I just like being on water for the simple reason that it's peaceful, smooth, and relaxing.

Bicycles. Don't know why, just grew attached to them. No money used every month or week, fast enough, don't have to share except with a crush, can carry my dog or basic stuff, and the only thing you have to change are the tires or any electric equipment attached to it.

Cars. I love driving so much - I honestly don't know how I lived before I got my license. The trouble with any other form of transport is that it's public so you have to keep to their schedule, whereas with a personal car you can pretty much go whenever you want.

Agreed, I am Captain and Commander of the starship Chrysler, no man plots my course but me!

bicycles. i love bicycling and i don't why i always feel sleepy in cars, trains and planes.
i haven't traveled in bus much last time i traveled by bus was years ago and i hate indian buses
i haven't traveled in submarines, ships, yachts and all yet

I can drive, although I don't particularly enjoy it. Here at home, I drive.

But, I prefer public transportation (subways specifically). Unfortunately Toronto's network is just plain laughable and ineffective. I've visited Paris, New York City, and Washington D.C., and they have great subway systems. You can go anywhere. Toronto's system is just bare; it is embarrassing. Also slow and expensive. The other places I've visited are much cheaper and a whole lot quicker.

So, here I drive. If our subway system ever gets good, I'll ditch the car.

At home, if I want to get anywhere in a timely manner I use my car; I am a fan of driving, just not everyday.

At school, since I live in the city and driving a car in the city scares the crap out of me (and it's so unnecessary considering I live within walking distance of my campus and a few L stops). So I prefer walking and when it's later at night or I want to go someplace further in the city, I use the subway/L. I've only used a bus on a couple of occasions and those were because I was with people who got how the buses worked. I still don't entirely get them :/

My favourite mode of transport is going by bicycle. I don't particularly like going somewhere by bus unless it's too far away for me to reasonably go by bicycle. The public transportation system here is pretty sucky, and I just don't like sitting in a bus in general. I don't have a driving license, even though at my age I can already take driving lessons, but meh, my bicycle is good enough, and I can go wherever I need to go with it thusfar, so I am not bothering with it due to the costs of taking driving lessons in the first place. Also, I don't like boats. I can't swim, so I'd be in pretty bad trouble should something ever go wrong.

I prefer to just walk, or ride my bike honestly. It'd be really nice if everything was within walking distance. lol

Based on my user name, you'd expect me to say "Car," right?

Wrong. Here's my favorite mode of transport.
    Spoiler:

I like my modes of transport to be big, spacious, and luxurious. And as much as the classic full-size Buicks admirably fulfill that role, nothing says big, spacious luxury quite like a custom-made luxury motorcoach. Now if only I could get the cash to afford one of these rolling mansions :P
