What kind of avatar do you prefer? and WHY .~.

I would say that I like to have my avatar about what I like right now, but not with my current one I just picked it just because I thought it like cool.

I usually tend to prefer avatars that are square or in most cases icons. Though, I do leave exception for most transparent avatars that are in use. One in specific is Amachi's transparent avatar. Other than that, the image itself doesn't matter what it may be, but if it is attractive or appealing to the eye is what I look for the most. Personally, I use a mix of either anime or celebrity images. Then there are occasions of sudden randomness that might be chosen, and again it all depends if the image itself is portrayed in an appealing way.

As for the avatar's placement, or really the image's placement in the avatar, I like those with partially selected areas of the face or other features of the main image's piece. Most times however, I like to center it on the main image's face for the avatar and/or the body if possible.

I prefer icons. I think they look better and are pretty :3

I don't really have a preference. I make my own icons so I guess my own style is what I like? I hardly ever use icons larger than 100x100. I don't think I've changed my avatar here since I joined. Sometimes I make my avatar match my sig, but not always.

Content-wise I don't really care as long as it doesn't look like I spent 30 seconds cropping and cutting it out of a larger image. I also usually avoid photography or anything too realistic. And transparency is always fun.

I prefer avatars that are close-up to the face. I don't mind if they're animated or not and I like the anime ones instead of the real-life celebrity ones. Nature ones are gorgeous, too.

^ I like my current avatar. Even though I'm not a girl, I do like Suou Pavlichenko so the avatar stays. My avatars are usually face shots of my favorite characters either looking indifferent, or smiling sadistically. Basically, I try to match my personality with my avatar.

There's only one criterion to my avatar: it must be satisfactory to me. Then there's no set preference I have, it changes often and rarely.

I don't have a preferable one most of the time, as I like to try different ones at different times, but I usually use square avatars the most. However someway or the other, the avatar has to match my theme.

I mainly use square avatars that are linked to my sig. Most of the time, I use Full face or body shot, depending on the key focus of my theme (like who they are, stance etc...), and I have no preferences other than that.

Almost always I would have my avatar the ones I've made(like what I have), or sometimes from cropped images. If ever I can't find one, I'll have mine as an icon.

I've pretty much always had it so it matches my theme; more than often it's a cut out from my signature to keep it nice and simple.

I haven't delved into themes yet, so yeah. I'll prefer the biggest one possible, and one that matches my theme.

My preferences are usually anything pixel-related. -Smash has an avatar that I'm particularly fond of. But really, their just little images.

I like 100x100 avatars. Standard icon size, and nice and square. Typically they're of some anime or video game character, depends on my mood and what I'm really liking at the time. The past few times I've made icons, I typically get a bigger image and crop the 100x100 image out of that. I play with the colors a bit, and then, volia! Simple, lazy, and not very impressive avatar. :)

In the past, the avatar's almost always been linked to the banner in my signature, but I haven't used a banner in months now. Honestly, I like my signature small. Although it doesn't matter because now all signatures are turned off, so I can't see it.

I really like my avatars cropped from the tags in my signature. At other times, I would use an icon to match my other ones.

Overall, it has to match, fit, and be appropriate enough for the viewer's eyes.
