What Pokémon feature would you remove?

The amount of new features and components has become quite overwhelming for the Pokémon Franchise for some fanatics and make them "wish the games were like the old games".

What Pokémon Feature(s) or concept(s) do you dislike and if you had the choice, would you remove them? Why so? How do you think these features/concepts could be improved?

Do you think all the components in the games suit the "story" of Pokémon? Why or why not?

I personally don't really enjoy the involvement of Ultra Beasts nor their portrayal in the games. It just left a lot of questions out in the open but hopefully USUM helps shape them up!

Either remove these plot-centric NPCs or make them less of a bland, one-dimensional mess that detracts from the experience rather than enhances it. Pokemon has never had a proper NPC, but boy do they love shoving them in your face now.

In terms of gameplay features...well, if anything they need to add features back in, rather than taking them out. Before I grow to dislike a feature too much, it's gone. Festival Plaza won't last past Gen VII, like Join Avenue didn't last past Gen V. Of all the lasting features they've kept, I wish they'd streamline the healing process - I am so fed up of going through walls of text and a cutscene just to heal my Pokemon - and until they can learn how to do it properly again I wish they'd remove the battle facilities.

...also remove the 3D models and go back to sprites. Or make better 3D models.

I'd remove tutorials or at least make them optional. For someone who's been playing for many years now it can get tedious even in new games to have to go through the most basic tutorials on how to Catch Pokémon which is pretty straight forward to begin with.

Tutorial is helpful if your novice or new to pokemon, but some folks are veterans and we love play new games or replay the old ones, I just hate spending time on how to catch pokemon, each building functionality or introducing some features on certain non-crucial plot. For arceus sake, would be better if tutorial function is opt out or say like two choice "I'm new to pokemon, teach me stuff about this game" -or- "Veteran player here, I just want to play. Skip all the tuts" with 2 options player can choose to skip the basics and get on the gaming. For crying out loud, each gen have repetition on tutorials it's overwhelming unpleasant

For me (mostly for experimental reasons), I'd like to see what its like to remove the 'only four moves' and let Pokémon learn whatever they can, in exchange that TMs also are unavailable.

I always felt it is pretty bollocks that Pokémon can learn only four moves at a time.

I despise tutorials with a passion, but making them option is adding a feature, not removing. Game Freak did a good job removing most of the annoying stuff like HM and Super Training.
I'd go with colours and remove Ultra Beasts and/or a lot of legendaries. We have way to many

The tutorials. Man, in GSC you even could say to your mom that you know how the phone works, but SHE STILL HAS TO TALK ABOUT IT. Most annoying thing in that game...

not so much a feature per se, but similar to the people who said tutorials - please cut down on the cutscenes and give me my freedom to explore back. I don't need to be herded around the region by an annoying character who tells me what to do next every thirty seconds. I like finding out stuff for myself.

That Pokemon Amie shit from X and Y.

That Pokemon Amie **** from X and Y.

What thing you don't like on amie, without it evee can't never evolve to sypheon

I would rather make tutorials opitional because Pokemon has a wide user base.

I'm not sure if this counts as a feature but I would like to get rid of the whole trying to find roaming legends deal. I mean it's nice that they tried to do something different but trying to track them down and then find ways to make them stay during a battle is more tedious than fun.

6 gen tried to change this up but even then it seems kind of pointless to find them multiple times before you can have an one on one battle with them.

I've never liked that you have to trade to evolve certain Pokemon, even if it does promote trading between players. What if they don't want to give it back? I guess I'm a bit aggravated due to lack of sleep, sorry!

If you're also including battle mechanics, I'd remove critical hits on moves that don't explicitly have high critical hit ratios.

Also the lack of information and amount of unanswered questions regarding the ultra beasts was criminal. I was expecting them all to be a central plot point. I also was shocked that it was not mentioned once how Pheromosa and Nihilego resemble Lusamine and Lillie. Yes, maybe a bit of a reach, but I was still like "wait what? come on!"
I expect more information about them in USUM, though.
