What sold you on your favorite type?

There are many fans who have a favorite typing in the Pokemon world, so there must be a reason why they favor that type. Maybe it's a specific Pokemon alone? Or maybe something deeper such as their design philosophy that interests you. There are a million and one reasons why one is a fan of a certain type.

My fave type is Water, and I don't know how I got sold so heavily on this type. I guess it's because blue is my fave color and I do live in a country that has a lot of water and is known for its beaches, so that settles it I guess.

Favourite Type

This should be the last poll I will do in a while, also the one with the most choices, anyways let us begin.

I am sure that when we make a Pokemon team, we usually do our best to add a different type for each slot, but I bet that there is one pokemon type that you can't help but put in your team, even if it will not be that useful in the game, all because it is your favourite type.

Now for me, my favourite type is Dark type, from being immune to Psychic types, and having the best designs in my opinion (Take one look at Darkria and tell me that he is not awesome looking). I can't help but put them on my team, considering that the team I will forever use consists of two pure Dark type Pokemon, I think it should say something about my love for them.

Poison. Despite my interest in Fairy, Bug, and Ghost, I like Poison the best. The Pokémon of its type are very interesting, and it has some of the best moves in the metagame, like Gunk Shot, Toxic, and Toxic Spikes. They're also great defensively, remove Toxic Spikes as they enter, and never miss when using Toxic. As an added plus, Poison is predominantly purple in media.

I have trouble deciding these days. Used to be Fire; I always pick the fire starters preferably and there are so many cool/beautiful fire pokémon. But I'm personally probably a grass type, if I'd be a pokémon haha. And recently I've realized how much I love the Bug types c: They're so fascinating and diverse, and sort of underdogs. I think the variation is a thing I really like about Bug types. Fire types certainly lack that.

My fave is the Psychic-type. I like that it covers several different categories from space and aliens (Solrock, Deoxys) to magic and mysticism (Xatu, Medicham) to just plain ol' psychic powers (Alakazam, etc.). The kinds of Pokemon that get the Psychic typing are pretty varied and I like a lot of them so that helps, too.

Water comes close to being my favourite Type, but I admire Psychic Types the most because of how powerful and fearsome they once were. Some of them can be paired with other Types I'm fond of, like Water, Dragon, Flying, and Fighting.

Some of them, such as Alakazam, Starmie, Mewtwo, Gardevoir, Metagross, and Hoopa have access to very powerful attacks. The examples I've mentioned have very strong stat distributions, making them perfect assets to the team.

Plus, they are usually associated with magic before the Fairy Type was introduced.

Normal is my favorite type, mainly because of how versatile they all are. Normal-type Pokemon don't all look like one "thing." There's jiggly round puffballs, cats, computer data, bears, dragons, and so on. Between that and the wide variety of moves that they can all learn, it's a reminder to me to be more adaptable in life.

And my favorite Pokemon, Meowth, is Normal. Along with a lot of the other Pokemon I like.

Psychic is my favorite type. It was only more recently that Grass, Water, and Ice have started to move up the ranks as well. It all started with the Abra line in Red version, I've always used a Kadabra sadly I couldn't evolve it. Not to mention how broken they were, since most had high speed and you would get critical hits left and right.

Ice solidified itself in my eyes when I used the traded Jynx in LeafGreen. It was the perfect fit since it had my other favorite type of Psychic and I've always been fond of the move Ice Beam.

My favorite type is dark because most pokemons are black which i think its the best color a cool looking pokemon can have.
I got an introduction to dark types with emerald's poochyena which funny enough is one of my least favorite shinies. But going on in emerald i found some great looking dark pokemons that fascinated me like absol, sharpedo and sableye. Fast forwarding to pearl i found that i loved every single gen iv dark type (except the stunky line). Every gen i kept finding new and old dark pokemons i loved and so after completing my living dex i looked at it and i was like: "Damn aint dark types the best? Yveltal darkrai umbreon zoroark honchkrow greninja and so many more how can i not love this"
And ye it became my favorite type because of that

My Favorite type has to be ghost because my first favorite and intro pokemon was gengar. Plus most of my favorite pokemon are ghost. They are always so cool looking and unique. Sableeye is most defiantly hands down my favorite ghost pokemon though.
