I listen to a lot of rap, not just western stuff but a lot of Korean and Japanese rap (1tym, Drunken Tiger, Kick the Can Crew etc). I also listen to some punk (NOFX, No Use For A Name +others) And Jpop Ayumi, Melody, Mflo are getting a lot of my mp3 time at the moment.

well, music, i like all music, but not rap because i dont get the point of it, all of the songs sound the same

I listen to them too. I call it all rap. Because its just too confusing to seperate rap from hip hop. Even the rappers say "im the best in this rap game" then go "im real hip hop"

Thats the kind of ignorance that pisses me off. Everybody always goes "all the rap sounds the same". I like country but all them country people sound the same too. " Ohhh I lay in my backyard, just thinkin about the good ol life". Just like all Heavy Metal/Rock/Pop/etc...May sound the same if you dont like the genre. So if thats what you use to back up your argument. Then heh

rap is to hip hop what metal is to rock.
hip hop CAN BE instrumental, abstract, rap, etc etc etc. rap cannot be instrumental.
 
I chose "other" since Power Metal and Black Metal not were listed. Heavy Metal is a bit to boring, so..

Metal is the only music that works for me, nothing else
 
I love Country to pieces. All of the singers amaze me.
I also like oldies and I'll listen to rock or classical occasionally. But Country and Oldies are my favorites.
I don't see the appeal of rap, it doesn't even sound like music, it just sounds like someone talking to a beat. That's not music. Plus take the C of crap, what do you get?

-Punk Rock (Not Poppy Wanna Be Punk Bands Like Green Day And Blink 182 ((However I do Like Blink 182 To A Point)) But Stuff Like The Misfits, And The Sex Pistols, And Ect.)
-Classic Rock
-Metal (Not Death Metal, But Like Classic 80's Metal Stuff Such As Quiet Riot Or Judas Priest)
-A Little Bit Of Alternitive.
-Old 80's Pop Music
-JPop
-Classical
-Some Old Rap
-Jazz I Like To Listen To Sometimes, But I Couldn't Name Any Artists. Nor Would I Buy A CD.
-And I Think Country Has Some Of The Most Talented Musicians, But I Don't Much Care For It.
 
...well, a year ago I probably would have said my favourite genre was rock, but it's definitely switched to soundtracks, now. XD I'm obsessed with movie scores and songs made for and inspired by movies, really. I'm on a real Disney binge now, having gone back to listen to the classics there recently. I also listen to video game and anime OSTs, too. ^_^;

As for "normal" music, I listen to Rock and most of its subgenres. I dislike Rap, save for Eminem (for some reason I really like his stuff XD) and you'll be hard-pressed to find me listening to any country music. However, I do like most pop music, though most of the time if I hear it more than once I'll hate it.
 
I like pop mostly and J-pop. xD

I don't really like Rap or Country too..
 
Rap, hip-hop, and R&B all the way. Rap's got the beat to hook you in, hip-hop's awesome for parties and dancing, and R&B's got the rhythm that makes it cool for anything; just plain listening or parties.
 
I used to be really into country a few years back. I still adore it, I'm just not as big a fan as I once was. ^^; I really enjoy alternative rock a lot, though. Some of my favorite bands being Evanescence and Linkin Park. :x w00t I'm overrated!

Ah I like alot of Hardcore, Metalcore, Grindcore. Ya know just stuff that hurts your ears. I also like alot of acoustic emo stuff though too.
 
My favourite genre would be pop and rock but I think I could dance to anything with a good rythm. ^_^
 
I love a lot of genres however I would say my faves are CPOP, JPOP, & Pop.
