What would you add to a pokemon game to make it perfect

just give me a pokemon game with lots of minigames that i can do whenever i'm tired of battling and i think that would serve me well.

Game Freak was on the right track with this with Mantine Surfing in USUM, and i think Dynamax Adventures is in itself soooort of a minigame in a sense, but i miss the feeling that Pokemon Stadium 2 gave me. i miss the non-battling minigames where my mind can just take a break and i can do other things. i think HGSS Pokeathlon and The Underground from DPPT are perfect examples of this, i'd just like to see more. have some friendly competition with friends or something and make it more engaging, interactive, and fun!

other than that, agreed with what Sheep has mentioned. i'd like a more challenging pokemon game, but at the same time, i've resigned to the fact that people like me aren't the primary demographic for pokemon and they don't want to put off the kids (that doesn't mean everything has to be super watered down and hand hold-y, though...)

1) Follow feature
2) Option to switch between 3D and sprites
3) Difficulty options from the get-go, and make the hard mode actually difficult with full teams of 6 + higher levels for gym leaders and above

These stand out immediately. Would absolutely love a game like this.

Thanks Sheep, you made my comment for me!

Edit: I will expand on this for my personal preferences though!
1) Follow feature, IF they make it better than what it currently is, the clipping in and out and teleporting to the trainer is a no from me dog.
2) Yeah, this.
3) Difficulty options maybe being: Easy, trainers have lower level Mons with worse movesets, for the kiddos. Normal, a nice balanced game, Gym leaders are a bit of a challange and all have a minimum of 4 mons. Hard, trainers have more Pokemon (gym leaders 6) with optimized movesets and better EVs and IVs. Nuzlocke mode, self explanitory, and additional options such as, toggling healing off in battles and a level cap per gym badge that your Pokemon cannot exceed.

A class system, let me be a fisherman or a bug catcher class in the game, give me bonuses for bug type attacks or bonuses with net balls or something if I am a bug catcher.

I agree with the points that we need more things to do after the post game/when we're tired of battling. I'd just like more options on things to do so I don't get burned out like one session after beating the game. Difficulty yh ofc, I agree we need more optional side Routes and areas because it allows for the freedom of exploration without interfering with the badge quest/levelling much.

I know this is not exactly mechanics but I'd really like a proper league structure that fits into the story well. Kinda similar to Sw/Sh but ironing out some of the issues, but you have to actually earn endorsement. For example maybe: The league actually doesn't start until about 1/3 or so into the game, so the first section you have like rival battles and like a final endorsement battle against whoever. So that when the league is around there is more flexibility with the leaders teams, strength and balance. Gyms should also involve their tasks in a wider area, not just restricting it to the gym itself. When it comes to the actually league Sw/Sh should be fused with the rest of the games, where you face in a tournament against other Trainers/Gym Leader(?) but then after winning you take on the Elite Four and Champion like usual.
