I'm not creative, usually my rivals are named normal things like Michael or Davie, though my current LG rival is named Grumpy.

I did the same thing in platinum. I'm not very creative and I just wanted to play the game. Lol.

In Platinum, my rival was Colby, my best friend

And in my fire red, my name was Flyer (cuz i was doing a flying monotype challenge) and my rival was Dick(it's short for richard you know... :P)

On Pearl, I named him Clint because that name reminded me something that related to Pearl if you catch my drift.
On Diamond I think I named him Barry.
On Pearl I named him her Beena and my friend Beena named him Alvin. haha.
