When I was 12 I actually had an aneurysm in my brain-- it ruptured while I was in hospital. I was fairly lucky to survive, since 40% of ruptured brain aneurysm cases are fatal. And even then, roughly 66% of the people who survive have some sort of neurological deficit afterwards.
Didn't get out of the hospital until a few weeks after. I was really fatigued and I felt numb for a few weeks after leaving hospital, and I still get headaches and feel slightly numb or fatigued every now and then, as longtime results of the aneurysm.
A close second is when I nearly drowned at the beach when I was 9.
That was some scary shinx.
