I like Pidgeotto evolution for nostalgia, but I really like the Starley group.
 
I love the Starly evolution line. They are all so cute! =D
But maybe Mamepato changed my opinion. xD

Pidgey > Pidgeotto > Pidgeot.
Pidgeot is just badass. I like his moves and he looks awesome and doesn't afraid of anything.
 
I always was fond of Starly line. They were helpful in my Pearl game :). But there's a chance Mamepato will probably change it if they are as good in BW.
 
Starly -> Staravia -> Staraptor. I like its design the most, its powerful, competitively useful and gets Close Combat as well as Brave Bird.
 
The Starly evolutionary line. Staraptor is the most viable to use among the fully evolved starting birds because it can learn Close Combat. It also looks cool because of the crest on its head.
 
Why no Spearow? It shows up first on Route 3, that's beginner-time enough.
S'pose I'll have to settle for Swellow, was my best contest Pokemon; though I expect Noctowl is the best battle-wise.
 
Has to be Pidgey for old times sake, whatever game it always seems to find itself in my team.

And for legendary bird, Articuno.
 
I like the DP line, as they are the strongest in my opinion.
Close Combat is such a juicy move, especially with Intimidate.
 
i voted Staraptor because he can learn Brave Bird and Close Combat through level up
 
Pidgeot, is probably one of my favorite pokemon period

Though it doesn't help that Flying is my favorite typing..
