Living in a very sultry country, I've always used light, thin blankets. They're comfy enough to use during the cold season, and can also be used during the summer as a second layer of bed sheet x)
I have two - a nice, thin, green one that goes underneath a thick, sports-themed comforter that is especially nice in the winter. Ooh, and a matching pillow :]
I have a very large light blue blanket. I could describe it as heavy and light at the same time.
It keeps me very warm and its very soft. i like to my body with the comfort it offer. In fact im being hugged by it now.
You know those super cheat fleece blankets that you can get from Wal-Mart for like $5? I absolutely love them! Along with my used-to-be-pink, now a sad washed out white blanket that has a bunch of holes in it and unraveled yarn.
I have a thick, dark blue Wall-E blanket that I sleep with. That's the only cover I really need, it's so thick and comfortable. If it's hot enough in my room then I won't sleep with a cover.
I have two blankets that I switch between depending on the time of year. The one i'm using right now is my thinner, lighter summer blanket. When the weather starts getting colder, I switch back to my lovely thick, warm winter blanket.
