When did you fall out with the anime or stop watching?

I stopped watching while Sun & Moon was airing. At the time I felt really let down, because I thought it was a downgrade from the quality standard that XYZ had set up, both visually and plot-wise. But now I'm thinking about going back and watching it. The SM games received a lot of unjust hatred as well around that time, and now I recognize them as some of my favorite entries in the series! So that's why I'm considering giving the anime a chance after so long, this time without comparing it to the previous anime.

I tried watching Journeys as well, it was cute but not very gripping imo. Maybe I'll use it as background noise while drawing. Mostly, I'll just google which episodes have my favorite pokemon in them to watch, and maybe the finale as well just because of Ash becoming the champion. But I think I'll skip the new anime completely, or do the same and watch just for my favorites.

I watched every season up until Sun and Moon's ending. I was really hoping to just continue onto Galar with the standard formula, perhaps a bit more episodic but still having a good overarching story/plot, but was honestly very disappointed after watching a few episodes of Journeys. It was mainly the near purely episodic format and the skipping or glossing over of so called "important" battles that disappointed me. I didn't feel compelled or drawn into the show despite being the prime demographic. Additionally, it felt like a huge letdown after Sun and Moon. I initially felt like the ending of Sun and Moon was a perfect ending for Ash's story and admittedly was confused and downright disappointed when Journeys was announced. I haven't watched the anime at all for a while but finally watched it again last week, and by Arceus do I still love Sun and Moon, even with its many flaws. (cough cough main issue being Ash looking... interesting in the new style despite everyone else looking pretty nice cough cough)

I haven't returned to watch Journeys or Horizons and won't return unless Kiawe, Jacq, Milo, any Magnemites/Shroomish, or Larry appear. Flimsy logic yes, but it is simply what makes most sense to me
