they are not primarily made for japanese children. they are made for ALL PEOPLE AROUND THE WHOLE WORLD.

Of course the are focused to people aorund the world. But pokemon is obviously market for kids. Also "Far away" This wouldnt be far away if Isshu was in amaeica for american kids would it.
 
...I think far away implies far away from Johto/the rest of the Pokemon world, etc, so being in NY could work out better than Shanghai.

Acording to GF hoenn itself was a little further then other regions, so yes shanghai is by that far away from other regions.

You forgot 雷影 イチロs (xD) found out about. Kurimiri is a silkworm, which is a chinese bug, also found in japan and korea. And now, why would there be a chinese bug, japanese doll, a chinese mythical fox beast a and dragons that represents chinese view of the world, yin-yang in NYC
Yes there is also a question why would there be a football player in china, but chinese people too play football, i know its not common it there, b
ut still i dont see chinese bugs and foxes in america.

EDIT: oh kirby also, as mars mentioned for zebras, zebras are only found in southeast asia and africa, which once again asks, why would there be zebras in NYC when they are exclusive to asia.

xD thnx, i like to search for these kind of stuff around the net, thats how I find about the NYC fake info about mountains and desert road. Also dont forget that the one that find out about the silkworm and mentioned zebras is 雷影 イチロ so a lot of credit for these last ones goes to him.

Sure its closer then NYC, but still it is considered far, and NYC however just doesnt fit to be a region, not in size and not in political view as it is only formed of one city, while isshu has lot of cities.

p.s. @kirbichu why did you say this: There's quite a bit of Pokemon pointing toward NYC
:S there are only two, if you include the pidgeons. While pidgeons could also reference shanghai area as well, just check pictures i posted on the last page.

I researched the places where Rock pigeons live and they also live in the Shanghai area and the NYC area so the side that gets the pigeon is neither...

:OOO soraa!!! how dare you steal that bakemono dream eater idea from mehh!!! aargh XD, its my fault for not posting it right away.
I also wanted to state this about chinese crocodiles:
- they are located along the lower yangtze river, which flows right thru the desert of isshu, and the crocodile pokemon is found there!!!!!!! :D that means that the croco pokeon is based on CHINESE croc
- and chinese ones are acctually prety small, so if its evo doesnt turns out to be a giant, it is definitley chinese :D
 
acctually, idk if you wrote this sora, sry for not reading ur post again, but that green color just bothers me.(really, it doesnt seem to fit my eyesight, i might be colorblinded to that green shade)

Munna and her evo ara dream eater pokemon, and tapir pokemon too, whilst baku, is a dream eater chinese ghost that is known to japanese and they use him a lot in their mangas and animes, also the baku is TAPIR, now that proves that munna and her evo are chinese dream eaters.

ok, i searched for other pokemon descriptions, and I just cant see how i missed this before. Isshus starters, tsutaja, pokabu and mijumaru are snake, pig(possibly its evo will be a wild boar) and an otter. Now shanghai area houses all these types of pokemons, now NYC may have snakes, but china has some famous highly poisonous snakes like: rettlesnake(k i think that one is in YNC too), coral snake, copperhead water moccasin, etc, etc.

Yeah but Tsutarja is a based on a Garden snake, so it's not poisonous...

Yes. Which could turn out espcially true if tsutaja is poison. at some point. I mean NYC dosent house any posiones snakes. and even they are there the kind that gives you a little itch (NYC area) while asian snakes can be evry poisounes.
