Which game's Item bag Config do you prefer?

I like the HG/SS bag configuration because it's easier to find the items you need. I didn't have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the bag to get the item(s) I needed.

I agree with Hondoomed.

I liked Diamond and Pearl's too.

the bag system of HG/SS seems better to me. Easier to get stuff. In Platinum etc, it took forever to get the right item; especially if it was in the middle of my bag.

I think its because the menu controls are on the lower screen at all times, whereas the platinum menu requires you to press x. I got really comfortable using the touch screen on HG/SS then found it hard to go back to the D pad with plat/dia/pea.

I prefer HGSS's method of bag item sorting, because it's extremely touch-friendly and it also facilitates end-to-end scrolling. It also scrolls faster because it loads 6 items at once, as opposed to just names and one item in detail in DPPt. (BW loads the name list and data for all on-screen listed items at once, but get over the page, and it'll have to load again.)

I hated scrolling in D/P/Pt. It was horrid. I do like HGSS the best, what with the clear icons for the different categories and the accessible touchscreen controls. BW's was okay, but I have trouble remembering what all the different pouches do in the little graphic on the left side of the screen.

Bah. Back when I was a kid, we had one pocket in the bag and we liked it.

As there's been some discussion on other non-4th gen games' bag system (like BW and RSE), I'll move this to PGC.

I quite like HGSS' imo - the main menu is okay but being able to go to the opposite end of the bag pocket in one button press was very nice for me. DPPt's was okay but a bit too gimmicky for my liking, and BW's had too few pockets - things got mixed up very easily imo.

I just had a flash back to storing items in the pc and cursing the machine with frustration that the tms only listed numbers! lol, you're right though, we're spoiled now, we loved it back then no complaints.

For 4th gen, HG/SS was definitely easier to navigate than D/P/Pt because of the buttons and icons. Now, when it comes to how the PC handled "Moving" Pokemon, that's another story entirely...

But something has to be said for 3rd gen, when you could, you know, actually put items in the PC that you don't need while on your journey. For those games, I actually prefer FR/LG with separate cases for TMs and Berries instead of a whole other "pocket" for them.

B/W just needs a better layout + more pockets :D
Other then that I thought it functioned quite well ;D

However I still believe that R/S/E had the best one; even without the bag it's menu functionality was really good - the Pokenav was amazing - maybe they should base the next bag system off of R/S/E's Pokenav system?

To me, RSE's menu is woefully outdated by this point. It's even beat by BW. When you can scroll only in one direction in most menus, well... that's quite a waste of screen estate, no? To me, they should instead readapt HGSS's system and perhaps change it so that one can use the original HGSS style or a more compact, icons-only style. I'm thinking of item icon + count. I think it would make a 3x5 layout possible if we made the text visible only when selected, no? But that way, the icons would also need to be self-indicative... am I thinking too much?

Alright BW, I'mma letchu finish, but...HGSS HAD THE BEST BAG OF ALL TIME!!! BW was a pain to scroll through. :/ RSE takes second for me, then GSC, BW, RBY, DPPT. DPPT was terrible. Not only was it infinite, but if you have an older file where you're well stocked on items, you have to scroll through infinity to get to the bottom of that bag. With GSC and RSE, you don't have unlimited space, but at least you have your pockets and with that limited space, you don't get that problem of taking forever to get to the bottom of the bag. HGSS had it perfect. Scroll from side to side, with pages in the pocket, and nice sized item icons so you can clearly see what you're looking at.

Edit: I agree with BW having too few pockets. What happened to the Pokeball pocket? Now that was annoying. I'd be preparing to go catch a legendary and I'd need to check my stock, but you can't do that with all the other clutter in the way. Cause all the Pokeballs, X items, repels, and hold items go in the same pouch. Why? Just go act like you're buying Pokeballs and that's an easier way to check your stock. But even still, that could be out of the way. Should just be able to look in the bag and see that you have 17 Ultra Balls or whatever.

Vietnamese Crystal had the best way to put items in your bag, though.

HG/SS has the best with the touch screen options. Easier to get to exactly what you want instead of tiresome scrolling.

I quite like D/P/Pt bag. I liked how there were so many different pockets so it made it easier to find what you wanted.
