2nd Gen Which generation do you prefer? :)

2nd Generation. It was actually the last generation my brother got games in, plus you can go back to Kanto where the gym leaders have been training. :o

3rd generation. Pokemon Sapphire was the first pokemon game I ever bought. :'D
R/S/E and FR/LG have all my favorite pokemon and characters.

But out of those two choices, my favorite is 2nd generation. Just because you can have a female player in Crystal.

I was never a huge fan of 1st gen, what with it's simplicity and all.
When I first played Silver I was hooked on it. I was trying to reach the elite four before giving up; but even so I trained until my Pokemons reached a high level before tackling the Elite Four a second time.
What I really liked about GSC was the ability to travel back to Kanto. Now I'm not a huge fan of Kanto, but I couldn't pass this opportunity.
There's just something about it that makes it awesome.

In my opinion, Pokemon's highest moment was with Crystal version. Gold and Silver were enough of an improvement already, but I thought it was amazing how they managed to get all 251 of them animated for the battle screen. I think that GSC is my favorite generation out of all of them, including the ones for the GBA and DS, because you're able to explore two regions instead of just one. I was sorely disappointed when I found out that the ability to travel to past regions was removed in RSE and DP.

I liked the 1st cause I remembered that i think you could bring pikachu out of its pokeball. I forgot alot... its been a while xD

Out of the first two generations, I perfer the 2nd gen. While the first one introduced the concept of Pokemon, the second one expanded on it with things we take for granted now like breeding and split Special.

The first. For the games themselves, it is because you Are Red/Blue, the two living legends that mark the beginning of the pokemon master era(sure there were supposedlymasters before, but I'm pretty sure children would be far more devoted after Red/Blue showed his stuff.

For the pokemon,...well, the first 150 were the originals. The second set were okay, but aftert he second set, everything just became too wierd and kid-friendly. More importantly, I didn't see any need to involve/make any more legendaries; the three birds and the two cats were great on their own. I was a bit starstruck when they added Togepi. >_<

2nd gen. I remember being so surprised at seeing Johto and Kanto in color, not some cruddy red/blue tint. There was a whole lot of replay value, and it added everything that the youngun's take for granted, like breeding and HM deleting, among other things. It also had a long storyline, as opposed to the current and first gen, which I can beat in a couple days. Gold and Silver, the minute you beat the elite 4, Elm hit you in the head and told you to go to kanto. Also, you got to slaughter Ash Ketchum's pokemon. What more could you ask for?

RED IS NOT ASH!!!!!!!![/yelling]

My vote goes to 2nd Gen. Sure, the handheld adventure was great (if not excellent) but what really hooked me to the 2nd gen was Stadium GS (2). Playing the game on TV via transfer pak was just awesome and getting to see your own Pokemon participate in battles and minigames was a hoot too. It also provided a convinient way to store Pokemon away and indirectly transfer them to another if you didn't have a link cable(deposit Pokemon from one game, put in another game and transfer once criteria were met). Earl's Pokemon academy was also a good place to learn the advanced stuff and find out what kinds of moves your Pokemon could learn. Aside from the stadium experience, having different events happen on what day it is also kept me coming back (Weekday Siblings, Bug Catching Contest, Silver/Rival, etc.). If only it was better implemented in D/P/Pt.

The 2nd Generation is my favorite because of the legendary pokemon in it.

I love the second generation the best. It's graphics were not excellent, nor were they absolutely sucky like R/B/Y. Also, Pokemon Silver was the first Pokemon game I played with understanding. I played Pokemon Yellow before that, but I didn't really understand it. With Pokemon Silver, though, I loved it. Although I didn't actually finish it until four years later.

1st gen cause of pikachu

I prefer the second generation. I like the day night concept. And I love the bug catching contest.
[PokeCommunity.com] Which generation do you prefer? :)

2nd generation because IT HAS CRYSTAL ZOMG!!!111ONEONEONE

Just joking XD, anyway I like second generation better because it had what the first three had but more expanded on. I could tolerate the pokemon (unlike Bidoof) and the story actually was a continuation of the originals unlike the others. Basically, it feels more like a continuation than (ZOMG SINOOH, GALACTIC RANDOM PLOT!)
