Which Rival Battle Theme was the best?

Rival battles; they're like the thing that pumps you up before a major battle, y'know? They're pretty epic, don't you think? All to prove yourself better! But still, whenever I play a pokemon game, the rivals and their themes are indeed important to me because, well, they're part of the reason to keep you more invested in playing the game, at least on my perspective. At any rate, this is the discussion of this thread:

*For you, what was the best Rival theme(s) from any game?
*How does that Rival theme enhance your experience upon fighting them from their own particular game?

Simple, wally's. It's an amazing track, and really helped shape wally as a character and was well deserved with his in my opinion.

Aaahh it's always so hard for me to pick a single favorite. Though I have to say my favorites among the rival themes are Silver's Theme, Brendan/May's theme (ORAS version), Wally's Theme, and Barry's theme.

As said above, Wally's theme is so cool and his character development in ORAS makes me swell with joy. <3
In particular, I like how character personality shows in Silver and Barry's theme. Barry's energetic theme always makes me tap my foot and wanna go jogging or something. ^^

For me, it's a tie between Hugh and Silver. Hugh's theme is upbeat, and you know that you're going to have an epic battle when you hear it, but Silver's theme tells you all hell is going to break loose, so I really can't decide.

 

[Hiatus]

I like all of them, more or less, but on top of my list, it's definitely May and Brendan battle theme from Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

May and Brendan generally have nice encounter music (well, at least in my opinion), and following it all up with their battle song is an amazing touch. It has a bit of slow start, but things begin to pick up soon after. The theme is loud, vibrant, colorful (so to speak), and it never ceases to get me into the mood of battling and whatnot. If you ask me, they seemed to have done a great job here!

Remix version of this song in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is nice as well, but I tend to side with original more mostly due to nostalgic purposes. Aside from that, I'm also pretty fond of FireRed and LeafGreen rival theme, as well as the one from HeartGold and SoulSilver.

A hugely distant second would be Brendan/May.

I will never get over the brass of the hoenn region. Original hoenn rival theme 4 lyfe.
