    Do people from forums add you all the time? So many, that you don't know who they are after a day, and then they don't remember you either? The basic point of this thred: Do you know most of your contacts on instant messengers?

    It happens to me all the time. I have like 50 contacts on MSN that I don't know(irl and online). I don't add people from PC or other forums unless I talk to them a whole lot, so I know it isn't MY fault.
     
    I seem to have that problem sometimes XP
    I'm not against making friends but some of them will just add you randomly.
    It's annoying to say the least.
    I do know some of my contacts though.
    I have to group the random add noobies away from the ppl I know though.

    That happens a lot.

    Some told me they added me after seeing my email address on a television programme; others just joined and decided 'hey, he's a good chap!'. Eventually I find out who the majority of them are, and the rest I just assume to be from Super Cheats.
     
    On AIM, I have it so that I have to add the person to buddies before they can talk to me, so no it doesn't happen. When I allow everyone, however, different story..
     
    I use Trillian so I just rename everyone on my contact list to something I can recognize them by. So yeah, I pretty much know who everyone is on my messenger.
     
    I only have like 20 contacts on msn and I usually do the adding so I know who they are that probably makes me the person who people don't know XD But the ones that did add me, I know from PC and have seen them so I haven't had that problem yet. This is pretty much because only people on PC know my msn, I don't give it to my friends IRL.

    Now on aim I have a few people I'm not sure who they are anymore =/ But I do know most of them too ^^

    I try not to get to know that many Internet people. So naturally, I don't have 50 people on my friend list and whatnot.
     
    I used to have this problem, especially back when I was a staff member. About 80 people had added me on MSN, but I only knew about... oh, 15 of them personally. XD; It was so awkward because I would always have to ask "Who is this?" whenever someone would send me a message.

    That's why I made a new account and never logged into the other one again. O__o;; And these days, I also keep my screen name private unless someone asks.
     
    ...It's happened. A lot.

    But not anymore. I usually remove anyone I don't remember, and if they IM me again, well, I'll ask and re-add them. Maybe. It's easy for me to tell usually, since I don't have any IRL friends on my MSN except for one, who doesn't count.

    *shot* If I get confused when they change their names, I just look at their e-mails. Those are easiest to distinguish for me. The one's with the harder e-mails usually have their PC names as their display name, so yeah. xD I talk to almost everyone on my contacts list... er... almost. D: At the very least, I can name who they all are. *shot*
     
    I know mostly everyone on msn: I've never talked to the one's that just added me; and I do know everyone on yahoo.

    I wish more people would randomly add me on Yahoo; no one's ever on. xD
     
    I know who all my contacts are. AND THEY'RE BORING. I want more contacts but I don't wanna put my MSN back up so meh. XD
     
    Half the time, I have to ask who someone is the first time that they IM me on MSN. Very few people actually use the same screen name everywhere, so for some I have to wonder, and others I know. But I only have to ask the "Who are you?" question once before I remember who these people are.

    Out of my contacts, I only don't know two, which is pretty good considering I have 41 contacts. Of course, I only know a few people well-enough to actually mean something.
     
    Half on my AIM I don't know. I have 400 screenames,so I wouldn't know them all Dx
     
    I don't add people whom I don't know.....In other words I never trust Strangers >:C even though it's in the interner :D
     
    I don't exactly get that problem, I have about over 450+ contacts on my MSN atm, I sometimes forget who that contact is. I used the up the limit on my previous MSN account that's why I had to create a new MSN account for those people who wonder why I have so many MSN accounts. XD Anyways on forums every few people add me, but I have so many contacts for the people I know Irl, usually friend's friends add me.

     
    I don't usually Add someone whom I don't know...he could be a thief, the President of the United States, A Stalker, or a Chef..I always add someone if I know they are kind....even if I don't know them xD
     
    Yeah, there are loads of people on my MSN list who I can't remember XD I have over 200 contacts so it's very confusing when people use obscure names or keep changing them all the time (though my name is pretty obscure too, lol!) It's rather embarassing when I have to ask them who they are ^^;
