Charmander, because it evolves into a powerful flying type. I like flying pokemon.

Totodile with Cyndaquil following not too far behind. I first got a Totodile and all the other starters never matched up to him in any game.

Torchic, Chimchar and Totodile (Cyndaquil was fun too. Until i had to battle Whitney -_-) those were the ones i used when i first got the games and the best ones ive solo'd with.
