I've got many groups of friends, none of which I'm really a leader of.

I don't have "Friends". I have maybe one friend I see on a daily basis only because he is my neighbor.

Eh. My group doesn't have a leader. We just do our thing really.

I'm usually the one who you would loosely consider "a leader" of a group. Then again, said group never reaches more than 3 individuals, myself included.

I'm the Soundwave to our group's Megatron. I'm not the leader by any means, but whenever necessary I can make myself heard.

I'm the leader of my group. Always have been. But I have another friend who also holds quite a bit of power over the friend group lol
