Why are there so many Nurse joys and officer Jennys?

    I was just wonderin in the first season of pokemon the one Nurse joy says that they are all twins. but in the second and third season theres way to many to count and the same goes for the jennys


    How can there be this much joys!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I think all jennys and joys are cloned in a factory.​
     
    That whole joke is based on the fact that all the NPCs in the games look the same, and they've become so established I guess they just didn't want to change things.
     
    I was thinking that as well.

    I don't know the name for one hundred twins, lol.
     
    They are all daughters of parents that need hobbies.

    In all seriousness, it is impossible for them to be twins because there have been younger Joys seen in the anime shows. Plus, if they were twins, the mommy must have had one huge belly right there.

    Ah, the ever asked question of Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy. This question was being pondered when I was but nine years old. It made me laugh loudly to know that people are STILL pondering it to this day. xD

    I always thought they were cousins, though? I could've sworn in one episode they said something about being cousins...

    EDITED: Just checked Bulbapedia. It says that supposedly the Nurse Joys are all cousins or sisters. But, fans have different theories. (like the cloning and Pokemon ones xD) And that Joy is the family name.

    And, as for Jenny, it doesn't say. XD At least, not that I saw when I skimmed.
     
    I remember the Cerulean Gym episode had a Jenny who mentioned that one of the others was her sister-in-law... so they may not even be related by blood, which only makes things more complicated.

    My guess is there's some sort of plastic surgery and hair gel/dye involved.

    Lol thats exactly what I thought.
     
    They're all the same because writersa wanted to kids have a single idea about the Nurses and the Officers... If the nurses were different, it would be hard for kids (I know most of us aren't kids anymore XD but remember Pokemon was for kids in the beggining) to associate the idea of "healing" to a single image, so they did Nurses to look all the same. And it's the same for Jenny's
